Christie Brinkley has been a role model just about all my life. I remember her well from her days as a cover girl for Seventeen and then Glamour magazine. While I look nothing like her unfortunately, her brand of fresh-faced American beauty has been an inspiration.
I was excited when I found out she was launching a line of skincare products called Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare. She is still gorgeous! Her skin looks great, so I was curious about what she, in conjunction with skincare product experts, thought would make a great skincare line. You can see the whole skincare line on the Christie Brinkley website.
Recently, I received one of her products from the blogger group, iFabbo, to try out in exchange for an honest review. The product I got is called Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment.
It’s used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, lips and on the forehead. They recommend it for tightening under eye bags, but thankfully, I don’t have those. Instead, I’ve been using it religiously for more than 3 weeks on the loose skin above my eyes. On the wrinkles above my lips, I’ve been using it intermittently.
The info that came with the product says that Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment contains a unique system made up of four bioactive ingredients including copper to fight the signs of aging. Formulated to provide immediate tightening effects within two minutes, after 30 minutes and after 4 hours, the product also is supposed to provide long-term wrinkle reduction with continued use.
Extra benefits are that the product doesn’t interfere with makeup. And you can reapply it throughout the day if desired. Plus it is easily removed with no need for makeup remover.
So how did Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment work for me? I’ve had mixed results. My skincare challenge that bugs me most is the loose skin above my eyelids/under my brows. Truth be told, I think nothing short of plastic surgery can fix those. But I thought I’d try this product on my “torture test” area. Frankly, I see no difference.
On the wrinkles above my lips, it does a somewhat better job but not a big difference.
You definitely can feel Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment working. It does provide an instant tightening feeling and the skin feels smoother in that area (it contains dimethicone, an ingredient that I like but that some women are allergic to). I think this product would probably be great for a somewhat younger woman in her 40s who is just beginning to experience wrinkles or for anyone who experiences bags under their eyes because the tightening effect is real.
Christie Brinkley Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment can be purchased on her website for $79.95 for a tube containing 0.33 oz. For those of you who use Ebates, you can get cash back on this purchase by going through the Ebates portal.
Have you tried any of the Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare products yet? If so, how did they work for you?

For me, Laura, the product did not have a very noticeable effect, but I could definitely feel it tightening. I think it would be a good product for somewhat younger women or for those with under eye puffiness that I don’t have.
I really like this product, and I definitely felt and saw a difference after using it, but of course the results are only temporary.

That’s great, Helen, that it worked for you! I too could feel it on my skin, but alas, I am older than you and I think it was too much heavy-lifting, lol, for the product!
Ah, seems that it could work after a longer time used, but wonder how long the results remain? Great review! <3

I’ve been using it for almost a month so I’m hoping that I will see longer term results that I don’t see now. I would imagine that if there are long-term results, one would have to continue to use the product at least on a “maintenance” basis. The short-term tightening effect last for a few hours though on me, there wasn’t a significant visible effect.
I have tried and used this product over the last few months and I was quite impressed with it and continue to be. I like when products are instant. 😀

That’s great, Honey! I’m glad that you had good results. I agree, I’ll take “instant” effects any day!
I can see the difference in the lip photos! I’d be interested to see how this goes under the eyes for sure.

Yes, there was more of an effect on my lip wrinkles than my eyes. I would expect that it would work well on under eye puffiness, but thankfully, I don’t have that issue since I had plenty of others!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this brand, but you’re right. In your photos I don’t see much difference. I’ve learned, tho, that feeling is working sort of trumps what it looks like hahah
you think???
Wonderful results you are getting from this product.

You think?? It definitely works better to reduce the appearance of wrinkles since that’s what it is. I was hoping it might have some tightening/lifting properties for my eyes, but not so much.
I haven’t tried her brand yet but I love your before/after results for your lips!!

I was fortunate to get a chance to try a product from the new Christie Brinkley skincare line. I agree, the lips show a better effect. The product really is a wrinkle reducer so it was unfair of me to hope that it would firm my loose skin above my eyelids but one can only hope!
All of the Christie Brinkley products are about $10 more on her site than on beauty.com or hsn.com. I don’t understand why that is. I notice a very small difference on you and a small difference on me. If you get a chance to try her day moisturizer or night cream go for it. They are great.

Thank you, Marcia, for the pricing info on the other sites. I passed it on to one of my readers who is interested in buying the product but balking a bit on the price. I hope I’ll have a chance sometime to try the moisturizers!
I definitely see the results on the lip area! My genetics suggest that I’ll too get the bags above (and possibly below) my eyes. Hopefully in 20 years a miracle cure exists 😉

Yes, there is a difference in my lip lines. I’m not sure if that will be enough for me to spend the money to repurchase once I finish the tube.
I have been testing it too, but I am still on the fence how I feel about it…

This sounds like an interesting product. I don’t know how I’d feel about the tightening feel though.

If you apply too much, it does feel weird, but if you apply a moderate amount, you feel it for a few seconds and then you don’t.
I would love to see if it would firm up my loose skin on my eyelids, too. Mine are starting to droop. 🙁 I’m fascinated by these ‘instant result’ products.

I too think instant is great. But this product really is a “wrinkle reducer”, and it did reduce the appearance of my lip lines. I think I was asking too much for it to tackle the loose skin above my lids. You are younger so maybe the tightening effect that it gives would be enough to help?
I actually won a couple of her products in a giveaway a few months ago (Yay!) but haven’t tried them yet because I have so much skincare already open. I agree that they’d be best for someone younger but it’ll be a nice treat to use these products over the Winter when my skin really needs heavy-duty moisture. I’m glad you were able to try them out. Who doesn’t want skin like hers?! (Genetics – grrrr……lol)
How great is that! Which products did you win, Natalie? I’ve heard great things about the moisturizers. I tried the Instant Wrinkle Reducer out on my loose skin above my eyelid because of the tightening effect, but it is billed as a “wrinkle reducer” rather than a firming product so I was probably asking too much. It did reduce the appearance of my lips lines. But it is a pricey product, and I don’t think it did enough for me to replace when I’ve used it up.
I received the Recapture Day + IR Defense Day Treatment and the Complete Clarity Facial Cleansing Wash. So exciting! I’m anxious to use them but am waiting to use up some other products first. They are quite pricey so it’ll be quite the treat too.
As I mentioned, heard a lot of good things about the moisturizer, and I’m curious about the cleaner. Let me know what you think when you get to them
I imagine it’s hard to find products that really work for this type of thing. Maybe with even longer use you’ll see a difference.

The Instant Wrinkle Reducer did a better job above my lips than tightening above my eyelids which makes sense since it’s billed as a “wrinkle reducer”. Because of the tightening effect, I wanted to see if it would firm up the skin above my lid and it didn’t do that. But as you said, maybe it will work for my droopy eyelids longer term.
I have read mixed reviews on this product, I am curious I will have to see if its still sold out in the shop. Love that lipstick you have on 😉

I haven’t read any other review of the Instant Wrinkle Reducer yet, so I wasn’t influenced by anything I read. It did reduce my lip lines somewhat. Perhaps it wasn’t fair for me to test it to see if it would firm my loose skin above my lids, but because it provides a tightening effect, I thought it was worth a try. It’s an expensive product, and before someone spends that kind of money, they should hear the positives and the not so positives, I think. The lippie is the Styli-Style Lip Balm in Bold Berry that I just got in my October Beauty Box 5, and I absolutely adore it! I need more colors now!
It definitely worked on your lips!
Oh good, glad you see it. I will concentrate on wrinkle reduction and forget about firmness with this product 😉
I really need to try this.
lol
My mom loves this stuff! It really helps her skin look smoother, if only for one evening.
I will keep at it and see what happens with it. Glad to hear your mom is getting visible results!
Before and after pictures are always SO helpful, thanks for the thorough review and sharing your honest thoughts. I tested this out in stores the other day and liked the feel of it. 🙂
