I’m a jewelry fanatic. I wear jewelry every day. I am never without earrings, necklace, watch, ring, and bracelet just about every day. I even like to wear jewelry to the beach. But whenever I do wear some jewelry to the beach, I’m concerned about losing it.
Enter TribeTats Jewelry-Inspired Temporary Metallic Tattoos. I received the Arm Band Collection in gold, silver, black, and rose gold in a slew of designs.
They are beautiful, super high quality, and such fun to play with and wear. I can wear these to the beach with no fear of loss. Plus I can wear them along with my real jewelry for a very cool look. I’ve gotten really good feedback from everyone who has seen me wearing them!
I’ve been a fan of temporary tattoos since I was a kid. I can’t do the real thing, so temporary is a great substitute. But I have never seen temporary tattoos that are as gorgeous as these from TribeTats! And there are so many of them: 20 designs or colors in the arm band set.
How to Apply
TribeTats temporary tattoos are a breeze to apply. Just tear or cut off the design you want to wear. Wet a washcloth, wring it out, and keep it handy. Remove the plastic protection over the design. Apply the tattoo design side down to your skin wherever you want to wear it.
Place the wet washcloth on top of the tattoo and hold it there for 30 seconds. Remove the washcloth, peel off the paper backing and reveal the tattoo. Magic!
So far, I’ve worn the arm bands as a bracelet and as an ankle bracelet. And I used some extra triangles at the top of the sheet just as a design on my wrist. I love ’em all.
Although these are technically “arm bands”, you would need a slim upper arm for it to go around the entire arm, and I don’t have a slim upper arm. Not matter, I’m using them as I wish. You can also cut up the designs and apply them wherever or however you want. Just don’t put them too close to your eyes.
So far, I’ve been wearing the tattoos for three days. I showered three times but didn’t soap the tattoos, and they were absolutely fine. Next, I went to the beach and swam in the ocean. They still looked great! When I applied cream sunscreen, I avoided the skin with the tattoo because I was concerned the cream might make them come off. On Sunday, we went to a big garden in the woods, and because it was a sunny 90 degree day in a place loaded with bugs, I had to apply both spray sunscreen and insect repellent. One or both of those sprays did some damage to my arm band as you can see in the photo below.
But my three day old anklet is going strong!
How to Remove
The instructions say to soak the tattoo in either rubbing alcohol or baby oil for about a minute. Then wipe it off.
I tried putting argan oil (I didn’t have any baby oil) on a cotton pad and soaking the tattoo with it. I may not have kept it on for a full minute, but that didn’t work all that well. Perhaps there’s something in baby oil/mineral oil that’s not in natural argan oil.
Next I tried soaking a cotton pad in 70% isopropyl alcohol, and that did the trick. Easy peasy.

They are such fun, Monica! And they look great in the sunshine! Where are you going in HI? We’re thinking of going during the winter but I’m overwhelmed with choices!
We usually go to Oahu .. and stay at the Moana Surfrider (Westin) or the Royal Hawaiian (the pink hotel on Waikiki Beach). I think we are going in October .. but haven’t booked anything yet 🙂

Sounds great! I think this is going to be a hiking, swimming, outdoorsy trip so I’m going to look at Maui, Kawai or the Big Island. Also, I’ll probably look into renting an apartment so we’ll have a kitchen. I’m overwhelmed.
These are so fun and they seem to be great quality!! I always like to keep these around for when I want to try something a little different! They look great on you!

Thank you, Christine! I wish I didn’t have so much sun damage because my spots detract from their metallic gorgeousness, but I love wearing them anyway. These are amazing quality. The one on my ankle has been on for 4 days, lasted so far through 3 showers, and is going strong!
I have been playing with these a little bit myself!

These look like so much fun to wear! I love the way that they look, and from a distance they definitely look like jewelry– when I saw your thumbnail picture I thought it was actually a gorgeous bracelet that you were reviewing! I would totally wear these!
They were such a great surprise, Helen! So much fun! Now if I only didn’t have so much sun damage competing with the nice bracelet!
I’ve been wanting these for a awhile! They are so cute.

I like these they are fun to add a little something extra. I saw a girl at Target she had it on her foot and her ankle it looked so cute. It also jazzed up her flip flops hehe

Yes, that’s how I think of it: jazzing up my flip flops or jogging shoes 😉
I got slightly jealous when you said you went to the beach but that’s because I’ve been stuck in rainy pittsburgh for waaaaay too long! Anyway, these look super fun and I would love to play with these. Totally fun to wear on a night out with friends or something.

No, I never wanted to get a real tattoo either, Judy. But since I was a kid, I loved temporary tattoos and started with those in the Cracker Jack boxes, lol. These are fabulous and really pretty.
I got some of these in a PopSugar box and never tried them.

I hadn’t used any metallic ones before. And these really stay on for days and days. Love ’em
These are seriously so cool! I would wear some on my hands – and I bet my daughter would love them as well. I cannot believe the staying power either. 😀
Jessica recently posted…Splotchy Nail Art Manicure with ellagee and JulieG
I haven’t tried any on my hands yet, but I would assume the staying power wouldn’t be as good but fun nonetheless. They have a set that’s rings and other designs for hands. I think these are just great!
These are a hoot and a holler! I do have a real tattoo, but I would rock these metallic ones in a minute. So much fun.
