I love photographs, fabrics, advertising, and design from the 1950s. It’s an interesting period that looked both backward and forward in time.
Recently, I noticed some beauty tools and accessories from The Vintage Cosmetic Company, a British company that launched in 2011 as a brand that celebrated vintage femininity as well as old Hollywood glamour. The adorable floral print background of the pretty packaging caught my eye along with their cute 1950s girls like Dotty and Pippa who are usually dressed in pink. Since their introduction in the UK, they now sell in stores and online in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Australia as well as at Ulta (so handy for me!) and on QVC in the U.S. This year, The Vintage Cosmetic Company is coming to JC Penney and is also launching in India, Pakistan and Canada. Bunny Twist Make-Up Headband
I have a lot of hair, and I usually put it in a twist tie low pony tail when I’m removing my makeup and washing my face. But that doesn’t do much for getting my bangs out of the way. Enter Bunny Twist Make-Up Headband.
This adorable, super soft band of elasticized polyester terrycloth is perfect for holding my hair including my bangs back while I wash up, apply a mask or put on my makeup.
The fact that the fabric at the top looks like two bunny ears adds to the charm. The headband stays in place well while I do whatever I’m doing. And the coral color with white stars is almost a perfect match for my robe – how nice a coincidence is that!

Exfoliating Face Sponge arrived in the cutest floral print box.
Inside is a pink silicone exfoliating sponge that reminds me of a manual version of my Foreo Luna. It’s perfect for travel because it’s so lightweight and small enough to fit into a makeup bag. I’m planning to bring it with me to Amsterdam.
I just put some of my cleanser into or onto the exfoliating sponge, add water and go to town. This sponge is gentle enough even for my semi-sensitive skin and for those with truly sensitive skin. The silicone teeth are soft but effective. I love it!

Other Cuties
Since I received these adorable beauty accessories, I’ve been hanging out at The Vintage Cosmetic Company website. I discovered the most darling floral print makeup bag that looks like it has the same print as The Vintage Cosmetic Company packaging. It also reminds me of the old-school clutch bags with a brush gold clasp that my grandaunt Ida used to have.
I have about a million makeup bags from Ipsy, but this looks much more spacious. This item isn’t sold at Ulta, so I bought it directly from The Vintage Cosmetic Company website where the price is $17.93 via Paypal’s conversion from pounds to dollars. And free shipping! I went for it! It looks like spring in a bag! I’ll post pix when it arrives.
So this is my first experience with The Vintage Cosmetic Company, and I must say I was not only completely satisfied with the items sent to me for review, but I bought something from their site as a result! FYI, in March, their makeup brush sets are 25% off.

I found this brand at Ulta, and picked up a headband you can use to push your hair back while applying makeup but I’m going to use it to do my double cleansing at night – it’s a soft terry clothe material and was only $4.99. I definitely think this brand has a great thing going!!!
I just discovered that I have another headband that I bought several months ago at Ulta: peach with white polka dots and a big bow. I agree, for $4.99, it’s a steal! The bunny twist headband is made of unbelievably soft fabric. As DiEtta, one of my online friends suggested, the Bunny Twist Headband would be perfect in an Easter basket 🙂

I think the larger Ulta stores carry a number of items in the store. My local store usually has just a few items. But I am psyched to get the makeup clutch I just ordered. I can’t believe they’re shipping it for free from the UK!

I love them too, Sandy. I discovered that I have another Vintage Cosmetic Company headband that I bought at Ulta a few months ago. It’s peach with white polka dots and a bow on top. Very cute too, but the Bunny Twist Makeup Headband is sooooooooo supersoft I truly recommend it. For the price, it is a steal. The exfoliating sponge is cool too. It’s very gentle, but you feel like your skin is being massaged as well as exfoliated when you use it. I’m dying to get the makeup clutch that I ordered coz it looks so cute too.
