I know I’ve said this before, but I measure the passage of time in ipsy bags, and I got my September bag a couple of weeks ago. This year is just flying by! I wish it would slow down.
This month’s theme is Face Fashion, and all of my products were face makeup, skincare or beauty tools for the face. Good start.
The bag itself is a pretty bronze metallic heavy plastic bag with a herringbone design. Definitely on trend for Fall 2015. I like it.
I felt like the contents of my bag this month were kinda meh, though it was, in actuality, a good month with a lot of makeup. Frankly, it’s more me than ipsy’s fault. I have soooo much makeup now, I am hard to impress. I have to remember that the discounts that I could get from ipsy more than take care of the $10 monthly fee if I use them. In fact, I was traveling last week and forgot to use the 40% off CoverFX discount that expired at the end of September. Grrrrr. That was a great one.
So what did I get?
- NYX Shadow Trio cobranded with ipsy: 3 very pretty neutral shades that would put together a great smokey eye: rose gold, bronze, black, typically $6 but on sale now for $3 on NYX website
- City Color City Chic Lipstick, shade One Night Stand, raspberry purple, full size, $4.99
- Pixi Mini Brow Powder Trio: 3 very pretty shades for medium blonde to brunette, mini size worth approximately $4 I’m guessing (full size brow palette contains 6 larger size shades for $12)
- Crown Oval Concealer Brush C224, full size, regular price $7.45 now on sale for $2.98
- Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, travel size 20g, $10
Because I have soooooo many eye shadow palettes including travel size palettes, I am gong to give away the NYX Shadow Trio as well as the Pixi Mini Brow Trio in shades that aren’t quite redhead shades. I’ve already worn the lipstick that’s in a shade that’s brighter than I usually wear, but great for a Fall sunny day.
I definitely will use the concealer brush. And though I’m swimming in skincare products, I will try the Vasanti exfoliating cream. So my giveaway pile did well this month, and I did OK too: three full-size products, one travel size and 1 good size mini. The value of my $10 bag is either $32.43 going with the products non-sale prices or $25 going with the sale prices. Either way, well over the 10 bucks I paid.

The bag doesn’t sound too exciting this month, you’re right. I think the brow palette is the best thing from it.
That’s the right way to describe this month “not exciting” but not bad. For me, the Crown brush was the best thing. Two of the shades in the Pixi brow trio would work for you!
Oh that NYX palette looks like it’s right up my alley. Love the lip color on you!

I think that this is a pretty impressive makeup-filled Ipsy bag, but I definitely know what you mean– when one has amassed as much makeup and skincare products as we have, it becomes increasingly more difficult to be impressed. We can easily become jaded because of our access to so much great stuff!

I cancelled after this month. I just couldn’t stay subscribed. I got the eyeshadow trio, too, but I probably won’t use it much. That brush looks handy, though!

Yes, the brush I will use. I like the shades in the NYX trio but I just don’t need it so hopefully someone who wins my giveaway will like it!
None of these products really “wow” me but they all look nice. You got a good variety of things and the NYX palette looks pretty!

The lipstick is pretty and it’s not a shade that I own so that’s great. Vasanti is going to be sold at Costco so I need to try the exfoliator out!
I am going to cancel ipsy and just get the Sephora box when it comes out hehe it’s so hit or miss for me!

I remember you said that last month. I just don’t need any more inexpensive makeup I think, but every now and then I get turned onto something new that I love. I’m on the fence. I’m not sure what’s the deal with the Sephora box. Boston is one of the test markets but I’m on the waiting list and I haven’t heard anything from them
I got the NYX palette and the Vasanti cleanser too. I was happy with those. The other products I received were a nude lip crayon, a cream blush, and Bayberry moisturizer. The blush is so small I can’t figure out how to apply it. lol Overall, I liked 3 out of the 5 products so it was a good month for me. I stick with Ipsy only because I like receiving make-up, nail polish, and brushes and most months I’ll get those types of products. Thanks for sharing your bag!

Actually, my bag was a good one but the Pixi brow set wasn’t my colors and though the NYX Trio looks great and I’ve only heard really good things about it, I just got 4 new shadow palettes and I feel guilty keeping it because I know I may not use it that much! I like the lipstick and the Crown concealer brush, and I definitely will try the Vasanti exfoliator – especially since it’s going to be sold at Costco which is cool. I’ll have to look up the cream blush that you got because I love cream blushes, though I’m happy with the new Stila and Stowaway Cosmetics cream blushes that I got recently. A nude lip crayon is always useful. I am kind of drowning in makeup and skincare these days so I guess that’s why I had that feeling. I’m going to have to move out soon because there’s no room for me with all this stuff 😉
I really like Pixi’s brow products so I’d be pretty happy with that, plus the shadow palette!

Both the Pixi brow palette and the NYX Trio are great products! Unfortunately, the brow shades don’t suit me, and I just got 4 new shadow palettes so I feel greedy keeping it 😉

I’m so on the fence about what to do with the NYX Trio. You and several others have said how much you like it, and I’m so curious about trying it. But I just got 4 new palettes and I’m afraid I may use it once and it will sit in a drawer so that’s why I’m thinking about adding it to the giveaway pile where it might find a good home with someone else 😉
The only item I got the same is the NYX which I like. I’m giving away a few of my items too but I wasn’t unhappy with my bag.

I’ve heard good things about the NYX Trio, but since I’ve got 3 new shadow palettes, I feel like I should give it away but then so many of you have said that it’s such a good little trio. It is a pretty one. The bronze bag with the herringbone design looks like it’s made of fabric, but it’s really plastic. It’s kind of a surprise to touch it

I’m surprised that they haven’t gone worldwide yet, but I know they had some hiccups in their early days here. Probably waiting to get everything sorted first.
I took a break from ipsy recently since they didn’t sent me this month’s bag 🙁 I still have many ipsy products hidden in the drawer. Need to start finishing them first. I’ve heard some good reviews on the NYX eyeshadow!

I love your Ipsy review esp your Vashanti Brighten Up scrub (my fave from Birchbox!) and love the color of your lipstick!! I am still on the fence with Ipsy is concerned based on mixed reviews!
