A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about my experiences with Mineral Fusion’s fabulous, natural, affordable facial moisturizers, Intense Hydration and Skin-Balancing Moisturizers (review here). They were the first Mineral Fusion products I’ve tried. Who knew that they also make nail polish? And awesome nail polish at that!
Mineral Fusion has just come out with 11 new lacquers: 8 new shades, a new glitter topper and two new top coats. I received a polish, a glitter topper and a topcoat to try out.
The nail polish I got is Cashmere, a rosy mauve shade that’s just the shade of polish I love. I also got the new glitter topper, Confetti – a mixture of silver, purple and aqua fine glitter and the gel topcoat.
First, I need to say a few words about the wonderful bottle. Although it looks round in the photos, the bottle has a flat-ish shape that I love. For some odd reason, I’ve been known to stick a nail polish bottle in my back pocket and carry it around to another room or whatever, and this flat shape makes that so much easier! Plus I think it’s a really attractive bottle.
The brush is a traditional smallish brush, but I found it easy to use.
The polish is a good consistency, on the thicker side but not too thick. I’m a klutz when it comes to painting my nails, but I found this polish easy and rather neat to use. Frankly, I could have gotten away with one coat, but I applied a second coat of Cashmere anyway. It dried fairly quickly. I didn’t have a lot to clean up around the edges which is something I hate to have to do. Mineral Fusion says to let it dry for 3 minutes between coats. Maybe I did, and maybe I didn’t, but it came out fine!
As you can see, I used Confetti, the glitter topper, only on my accent nail. But I am pleased to announce that the glitter is very well distributed throughout, so I didn’t have to go fishing in the bottle to get it well placed on my nails. Yay.
The gel top coat is wonderful! On my nails, it looks very thick and shiny, just what you’d expect from a gel-look topcoat.
My mani lasted without chipping for 4 days during which time I didn’t always wear gloves while washing dishes and cleaning. On the fifth day, I got a chip on my thumb and on the 6th day, a chip on my forefinger. Frankly, I was very impressed. I get chips on day 2 with many polishes.
I was going to do this as my Valentine’s Day mani, but though I love the shades I received, they’re not quite Valentine’s-y enough for me. I need pink, red and hearts, lol. But while perusing their website, I found the cutest trio set of minis, Confetti Mini Kit also called Northern Lights Mini Nail Kit, for $10.99 that would be great for Vday! The shades in the set are:
- Shimmering Shale rosy pink glitter
- Dazzling Diamonds white with shimmer
- Berried Gem cranberry glitter.
In addition to the 11 new shades, Mineral Fusion has a lot of other shades in their collection. There must be almost 10 red shades alone. Take a look!
Mineral Fusion with its “Mineral On A Mission” tagline is a better-for-you brand. Not surprisingly, the nail lacquer is 5-free (free of formaldehyde, toluene, camphor, TPHP and dibutyl phthalate. It’s also 100% vegan, cruelty-free and certified by Leaping Bunny.
Mineral Fusion Nail Lacquers are sold at Whole Foods and other fine health food stores as well as available on the Mineral Fusion website. While searching online, I saw that Mineral Fusion Nail Lacquers are also sold at Target.com and Ulta.com but not sure that these lovely new shades will be there. Each is priced at $7.99, but Mineral Fusion is offering a 25% off promotion until March 1 on their website with the code: NEWNAIL25. I may be getting that cute trio of minis on sale!
Have you tried Mineral Fusion Nail Lacquer yet?

I was so surprised as well, but I loooooove this polish now! And yes, so happy there are more better-for-you brands out there these days 🙂
Very pretty! I love the multi-colored glitter.
It is so cute, Rachel, and not too bad to remove. I used CVS acetone remover with the sponge thing inside and it came off more easily than most glitter. I really like these polishes. It was a good discovery for me!
I’ve never heard of them! Cute colors!

Such great polishes, Kat! A worthwhile discovery!
Those little sets would make perfect gifts! I believe I’ve seen these at a local grocery store here. I’ll have to take a closer look next time I’m there.

These polishes are so pretty and so good quality that I don’t think you have to be vegan, lol, but they would make a nice gift and they have oodles of shades
I had no idea that Mineral Fusion had nail polishes too. I’m a klutz when it comes to my own manicure too. Haha. Love what you created with your mani though xo

It was news to me, too, Brigette! But I must say I’m really impressed with them. I have to do my own nails, so I’m trying to improve. I’ve got a long way to go! Glad to hear you’re in Austin now!
These are just my colors and the glitter is so pretty! Love!

I’ve yet to try their polish but I’d love to. The colors are so pretty.

Yum! That mauve color is super pretty 🙂
Cashmere is a gorgeous nail polish shade. So perfect for me and for you!
Ohh that’s such a pretty mauve! I haven’t tried this line yet!

I’m going to try some of the other shades because I’m definitely impressed by these Mineral Fusion polishes! The new Gel Topcoat is so shiny!
Oooh, I’d really like to try the gel topcoat! I love the look of gel nails but can’t afford to have them done all the time, so I good topcoat would be perfect.

The Mineral Fusion Gel Topcoat is very glossy and thick. It looks very gel mani-like, though it doesn’t last for two weeks
I didn’t know they had polish! These shades are cute!!

It was a surprise to me that Mineral Fusion had nail polish too, and they have a substantial shade range too!
I really want to try some new nail polish companies, but really need to get rid of some colors first! They sell these at Target?
Tess Galen recently posted…Pür Cosmetics Hydra Fluid Foundation
Tess, I haven’t been to Target in a while, and that was before Mineral Fusion was on my radar screen so I don’t know if it’s sold in the stores, but it is listed as being on Target.com. Also, it is sold at Whole Foods in stores. The formula for this nail polish is terrific.
The pink shade you used is my favorite of them all. So me.

I could definitely see Cotton Candy on you, too! So pretty
I have not heard of this brand before but that pink is really pretty. I find that pink shades tend to be hard for me to wear, but when I find one that I know will look good, it’s always a plus. This one is one I think will match my skintone nicely.
Mineral Fusion makes really, really fabulous natural skincare products, but I had no idea they made nail polish. Cashmere is such a great shade of rosy mauve, I think it would look good on a range of skintones. It’s sold at Whole Foods, and I think you said there wasn’t one near you, but it’s worth a look if you ever get to one 🙂
I didn’t know they did nail polish, but these sound pretty great. Cashmere is such a pretty shade!
Bailey recently posted…Pantone Pastels with Youngblood Mineral Eyeshadow Quads
The polish was news to me too, but I’m loving Cashmere. My kind of shade and great for everyday!
These colors are so pretty. I always love nail polish kits because then you know you have colors that will go well together 🙂
I wish there was a Whole Foods nearby so I could pick up that cute little kit of minis to add to my stash. I love the shades, and I am very happy with the formula!
I love your polish review but I yet to try due to mix reviews on this product but I love that mini set to at least try a small amount for a short time!

Curious about where you read negative reviews on the Mineral Fusion nail polish, Ursula? I had such a good experience that I actually googled it, and Makeup Alley rated it 4.6 out of 5 and Amazon rated it 4.3 out of 5. Plus it gets a good EWG rating. Compared to Zoya, OPI, essie, and Deborah Lippmann, MF actually lasted longer without chipping for me!
Love the opaque finish and the glitter version is just to die for !! gorgeous x x

Cashmere, the rosy mauve cream, has become one of my go-to polishes. Mineral Fusion was a good find!
Love that mauve shade, but the glitter top coat looks so fun! Great review, thank you for sharing!

Cashmere, the mauve shade, is such a perfect everyday shade, and the glitter is a fun combo of colors plus it’s not as difficult to remover as other glitters I’ve tried. Thanks for visiting and commenting, Jen xoxo
Oooh I want that glitter in my life!
