ACEVIVI Digital Anti-Static Hair Straightener Brush

Brushes that straighten hair are all the rage. I was so curious about them because they looked like they’d do less damage to my hair.

A few weeks ago, I received the ACEVIVI Digital Anti-Static Hair Straightener Brush.

ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush outer box neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllisonFirst, it came in a very nice pink presentation box and a soft gray travel/storage bag came with it. If you’re considering giving this as a graduation or other gift, it makes a great impression!

ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush travel bag neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllisonMine is a 50 Watt unit that’s yellow with silver accents and all black bristles. I like the look of it. It has a square paddle shape. It’s not heavy and it’s easy to hold.

ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllisonThere are three buttons on the front: the power on-off button and beneath it two buttons to increase or decrease the temperature signified with a plus or minus sign. Just plug in the unit, push the power button, and mine heated up in less than a minute. The heating settings are 300, 355, 375, and 390 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat is easily adjusted. I use it near the highest temperature since my hair is thick, coarse and rather frizzy though the directions suggest using the lowest setting for color-treated hair.

It’s best used on clean, dry hair. However, I have used it to touch up my hair since I don’t wash my hair everyday.

Then you just brush your hair, a section at a time, with the brush, and it straightens and the frizz goes away. I get similar results to using a flat iron although with the ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush, my hair is less flat, has more volume. For me, there was a bit of a learning curve. Here are some unflattering photos of me using it. (I should have put on my makeup before doing my hair, LOL!).

me before using ACEVIVI Hair StraightenerAbove is a photo of my hair after blow drying and before using the ACEVIVI styling tool. You can see that it’s kind of frizzy and has too much volume.

me after using ACEVIVI Hair StraightenerHere’s my hair after using the ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush for the very first time. I needed to learn how to better turn my hair under  with it, and when I realized subsequently that it’s a just like a brush, I curved it under and it looked much better.

Check out this Youtube video for a better idea of how to use the ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush.

In terms of the amount of time it takes to use, with my thick hair, I’d say the ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush might take a few extra minutes than the flat iron because I have so much hair. But it seems to me that the Hair Straightener Brush is gentler and potentially less damaging to my hair because it’s not flattened between two plates.

I enjoy the ACEVIVI Hair Straightener Brush as an alternative to the flat iron. It’s a cool tool! It’s priced at $35.99 for the U.S. and 34.99 pounds for the UK. You can purchase it directly on Amazon through the ACEVIVI link here and also check out the other beauty tools that they make while you’re at it.

Is this something you would consider trying? Have you tried the Hair Straightener Brush yet? If so, what did you think?

I’m so glad you wrote about this product, because I’ve been toying with trying one. I wonder… could I blow-dry my hair part-way and and then straighten and smooth it with this brush? Anything to shorten hair prep time, for me that’s the key. Your hair looks great post-brush!

    1. I’m not sure about just partially drying your hair because the instructions say to dry it first. Would you like to try mine out? I’d love to see or hear how it works on fine hair like yours.

  2. Yess! I have been wondering about these latest straightening hair brush but never bough on because the ones I saw are crazy pricey! It’s good to see that this is reasonable priced. I’m going to snoop around.

    1. I was so curious about the hair straightening brushes too, Shireen, and I was thrilled to get a chance to try it out. Is your hair naturally straight or do you flat iron it? I’d love to hear how it works on hairs that’s less coarse than mine. And I agree – this one is affordable but it looks/performs like it’s very expensive

      1. My hair is neither here nor there and I use InStyler Max to make it look presentable. If my hair is a short bob then I’ll use a flat iron or it would curl out at the weirdest angle. LOL!

        1. I like that description: “neither here not there” 😉

  3. I LOVE how this performed, and you look great with or without makeup, pish posh! But seriously, what a great price point, too.

    1. I’m glad that you’re a fan, Judy! And thank you xoxo

  4. Static is a huge problem for my baby fine hair, especially in the winter. I usually end up spraying my brush with some hairspray and combing my hair every few hours to keep it at bay.

    1. I’ve been wondering how this anti-static straightener brush would work with fine hair since mine is so coarse. I’m thinking it would work even better!

  5. Great results, and I love that it is less likely to damage hair. You really can’t beat this price, either!

    1. I feel like my hair isn’t being fried when I use the Hair Straightener Brush, Helen. It doesn’t come in contact with extreme heat the way it does with a flat iron. And yes, the price is really reasonable!

  6. I’ve really been thinking about buying a straightening brush but have been on the fence b/c I didn’t know of anyone who actually tried one.

    1. It works for my coarse, thick hair, Tiki. I’m curious about if it would be even faster for those with fine hair

  7. This looks great. I bought a straightening brush a while ago. I skeptical but it turns out that I really like it.

    1. I need to keep at it and turn up the temp a bit for my thick, coarse hair. But it is much less damaging than the flat iron. I’m glad to hear you have good results with yours!

  8. I enjoyed your hair review on this product and I am curious how it does on wavy/new growth for my hair type!! Your hair style looks awesome!!

    1. Thank you, Ursula! They say it works on all hair types, but I’d love to see how it does on fine hair or hair that’s wavier or curlier than mine. Definitely less damaging to hair than my flat iron, though

  9. I have one that I was sent made by Revlon and I only use it once in a while. The Revlon one is so heavy that it’s hard to use. My hair has to be 100% dry even though they say you can use it on wet hair. What I do like though is that brushes like this are less damaging to hair.

    1. I wanted to try the Revlon one because it said you can use it on wet hair, so thanks for setting me straight on that, Marcia. I would love to have one tool that dries and straightens but I guess that’s a fantasy still. This one isn’t particularly heavy. It’s lighter weight than my hair dryer. I need to practice more to try to get my thick, coarse hair even straighter. I’ll turn up the temp next time.

  10. This looks great for those that straighten their hair.

    1. I think if I practice some more and turn up the heat I could get my thick, coarse hair even straighter. I like that it’s less damaging than the flat iron, so I’ve gotta try it again. Washing my hair every 5 days doesn’t give me that many options 😉

  12. Oh goodness, I need something like this! I’ve always been curious about them, so I’m thankful to bloggers who review them. Thanks!! I think it did very well on your hair 🙂

    1. I need to keep at it, Destany, coz I know it can get my hair straighter still. I only wash my hair every 5 days so I haven’t had that many chances to use it. But I like that it’s much less damaging to my hair than the flat iron

  13. I like that you can change the temperature setting and packaging is always a plus! I’ve been eyeing these tools since they’re all the rage now. I definitely see the difference in the before & after and doing your hair with makeup is too hot LOL

    1. Thanks, Kara, for giving me an excuse for the no makeup look! It’s a nice straightener: much less damaging to my hair but I need to keep at it to get it straighter and to get it to turn under.

  14. I totally have to try this!
