One of the things that I love about Birchbox is that it comes so early in the month compared to ipsy and Sephora Play. I also like the fact that you get a $1 credit to spend in the Birchbox shop or retail store for every 10 points you accrue either from Birchbox purchases or product reviews. Nice.
For June, we had a choice of a couple of boxes. Frankly, I don’t love having to make a choice because I like to be surprised about what’s in my box. And when I made my choice, I wasn’t that excited about it. But I forgot what I picked, so when the box arrived last week, I was indeed surprised. Plus I ended up liking the box far more than I expected to. Yay 😛
The theme of my box is “Multitaskers”, and I think that’s a pretty cool concept. Here’s what was in the box:
- LOC One & Done Shadow Stick deluxe sample: I love the metallic light rose gold color of this stick, Heavy Petal. Unfortunately, I guess I pressed to hard when I was swatching it because the tip broke off. Boo. I hate when that happens. But the color is great, and the longevity is incredible. I tried to tissue off the swatch from my arm and it wasn’t going anyway. That’s a good sign!
- NUXE Reve de Miel Face Cleansing and Makeup Removing Gel deluxe sample: I have always wanted to try something from NUXE, so I am very happy to get this. And perfect timing, I’ll take this with me to NYC this weekend!
- The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick in light lavender/pink shade, Raisin The Roof full size $14.95: A moisturizing pastel lip balm with sweet almond oil. Although the shade is lighter than my lips unfortunately, it is very soothing to wear. I’ll wear it around the house. Sad that it’s not a deeper shade, but still nice all the same.
- Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer deluxe sample: With antioxidants and humectants, this moisturizer can also be used as a mask. I’ll use it as a moisturizer. Haven’t tried it yet. I’ll probably bring this with me on our quick trip too.
- Davines Authentic Cleansing Nectar Hair/Body: I’m skeptical about using the same thing on my hair as I use to clean my body so I’ll be using this as a body wash. I like Davines so I’ll enjoy using this rather generous travel size bottle.
- Bonus product: Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm Face/Hair/Body deluxe sample packet: Again, I’ll use this for body.
Here are the swatches of the LOC and The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick:
One full size product worth $14.95 definitely put me over the top on its own to exceed the $10 that the box cost. I’m happy! Plus, I will use everything in the box. No giveaway items this month!

Sorry to hear about your LOC shadow stick but I got that curated box and got “Haute Cocoa” which is a shimmer brown shade which I loving!! I will update how the shampoo/body wash and multitask balm worked out for my hair type!

Sounds like we both got the shades of the LOC shadow stick that suit each of us! I’m kind of nervous about using the multitasking Davines on my hair. Let me know how it works out for you!
Very nice box! I love the LOC shadow sticks and use them quite regularly.

I’m not sure if I’ve tried LOC shadow sticks before, but I love this shade. I think someone said that LOC is a Birchbox brand??
Heavy Petal is such a stunning shade! I think Birchbox pulled out of Canada, they were just not making money and the samples were tiny weeny. Raisin the Roof looks beautiful in your swatch, Allison. Your lips must be pigmented if that shade is lighter than them. Lucky woman, mine looks like the walking dead.

Both are really pretty. I’m liking this Birchbox more than the previous two. Sorry that BB left Canada but clearly they weren’t doing enough right. I’m in NYC right now, and I’d love to go to the Birchbox store to see what it looks like but I’m with Jeff so shopping isn’t in the cards, lol. Yes, I have fairly deep color lips so a lot of nudes are too light on me!
Ohhh, have fun in NYC and you’ll have so much fun in Birchbox store! I read that they have AMAZING stuff in there. And tell Jeff you need to snoop around for blogging purposes. 😛

I love the diamond design on the box! And you’ve got some lovely products. Bummer about the lippie shade. I got a couple of those crayons from my So Susan subscription and had to give them away because they were too deep LOL.

I’m sort of sad that I used the lippie because I should have used my judgement and should have given it away.
That’s cool that they let you choose your box. I’d be the same way and forgot what I ordered until I opened it. LOL! That happened to me once with a pencil shadow. Luckily it hasn’t happened again. Enjoy those great samples!

I like the idea of having a choice, but a couple of times I didn’t like either choice and as a result, I wasn’t looking forward to receiving my box. It’s sort of a double-edged sword, I guess
I hope you had a great time. I love that Birchbox isn’t sending the same boring packaged boxes, I like to reuse the boxes and having a cute one would be great. My husband uses the same body and hair wash but I never would. I’d use the Davines on my body too. LOC is something that they created – I don’t know if it took off as a separate brand though.

We did have a great time, Marcia! That’s so interesting that LOC is Birchbox’s own brand. I didn’t know that! I love the cute metallic pink stick I received
Love multi-purpose products! The box is adorable, and I used to line my drawers with them to keep my products organized. 🙂

That’s a great idea. So far, I’ve got giveaway products in them. So many of them are too cute to recycle
That’s a nice box. It might be time for me to sign up again.

The shade of the LOC crayon is lovely and it’s great as a shadow base or a highlighter
This is one of the best boxes that I’ve seen from them and I love the concept of multitasking makeup. The LOC is very pretty.

The LOC is great! Love the color. It is the best box I’ve gotten from Birchbox yet.
Bummer about the pencil, it looks very pretty! I hope theres enough left to twist up 🙂

It is such a great crayon to use as a shadow or highlighter. It’s not a twist, but I was able to sharpen it and there’s still enough to use, thankfully
How cute is the box! I love the shadow shade too.

It’s such a pretty shadow shade and it makes a nice highlighter as well.
I love the actual box! Plus the eyeshadow and lippie are both super pretty on you!

It’s a cute box, and I was happy to get the lippie and eyeshadow/highlighter. It was a good box this month
Ohh, that shadow stick looks so pretty, too bad it broke. I love my PBJ lipstick, but I got the color Guava Nice Day which is a beautiful berry. I love it!

Fortunately, there’s enough in the shadow stick to still use it. Wish I got the lippie that you did, but I was just glad to get some makeup for a change!
It’s nice you can choose your box now. I haven’t had Birchbox for a while but back when I did, I liked that you could earn points.

It’s kind of nice to choose my box when I like one of the options, but I actually prefer to be surprised. Unfortunately, Birchbox is changing their points program so we won’t be able to review products for points anymore, boo
I’m loving those swatches! It’s been a couple years since I’ve subscribed.
