Over the past several weeks, I saw several blogposts showing off the new Washington DC collection from OPI. It’s an election themed collection (as if we need more reminders ), and the colors are fall type colors IMHO.
I fell hard for Freedom of Peach.
OPI may call it peach, but I would call it a browned peach, almost closer to a pumpkin shade though not as bright. Whatever it is, I love it! And it’s the perfect fall shade for my skin tone and coloring. Freedom of Peach is a creme formula.
I applied it over Seche Vite Clear Basecoat. Although I put on two coats of Freedom of Peach, it was a little bit streaky – perhaps because I apply my polish at night and can’t see what I’m doing. Next time, if need be, I’ll apply 3 coats but hopefully it won’t be necessary. I finished with Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat.
I picked up OPI Nail Lacquer Freedom of Peach at Ulta during the 20% off coupon event when they were also having a Mix and Match Buy 2 Get One Free nail polish event, but you can certainly use Ulta’s wonderful $3.50 off $10 to buy it, making the price $6.50 that I consider a very good deal.
Do you have a new favorite fall nail polish yet? Do tell!
Oooo, this shade reminds me of Essie Peach Side Babe which I wore almost non stop throughout Summer! It’s so beautiful and looks great on you, Allison. I haven’t bought any OPI nail polish since a year or more, kept getting nail polish through beauty subscriptions so I had to stop myself from hoarding more. LOL!

You know, Shireen, I loved that Essie shade that I saw you wearing in at least one of your posts! I actually looked for it CVS to no avail. When I saw this shade at Ulta, I knew I loved it. But I had forgotten that it looks so much like the Essie! At any rate, I’m glad we both love this gorgeous, wearable color!
Such a pretty shade!

The name is so cute! I think it was the funniest in the collection. And I adore this shade!
I normally love my fall nails to be a little bit on the dark side. I love like a deep, dark merlot color! PS I’m so ready for fall shades!!! My nails are bare right now and I can’t stand it ha!

Isn’t it so pretty? It was a must have for me!
That’s a beautiful shade of polish! It would make the perfect Hallowe’en mani with pumpkins or spiders stamped all over!

I’ll skip the spiders, but pumpkins or witches would be good. I wish I could do nail art.
I think of peach as summer but this looks perfect for fall. I’m always surprised when I look at OPI and it’s $10 since that’s what the nice indies like KBShimmer cost.

I agree, Marcia. I also think of peach as summer but I guess they couldn’t call it Freedom of Squash. Re: the $10 price – I think $10 is a lot for any bottle of nail polish (you can tell I never buy the luxury polishes like Chanel) but I think you can always find OPI at a discount, either through Ulta’s $3.50 coupon, at random websites online, on sale at Sally’s. I think of it was mid-priced.
This is pretty on you!

Perfect transitional shade, I think!
Pretty shade. I apply polish at night too and always end up with streaks because I can’t see, lol!

It’s so much more convenient to do a mani at night especially since I have to take out my contact lenses so I can see what I’m doing. But then I still can’t see what I’m doing, lol! Glad I’m not the only one 😉
Allison, that is so pretty on you! Love it!
