Groupon Health Beauty & Wellness Deals

Sponsored Post on behalf of Groupon. But all my opinions and experiences are honest and my own.

I’ve written about my love for Groupon in the past: their coupons, great deals on beauty products. Once, I even got a fabulous deal on a gift card for Sephora through Groupon. Now, I’d like to talk about opportunities to get great deals on health, beauty and wellness services right in your own neck o’ the woods. We could all use a little pampering. Am I right?

When I lived in New York City, there was a salon that I loved to go to for facials, mani/pedis and massage, but sadly they were sold and then shortly thereafter went out of business. By then, I had moved to back to the suburbs of Boston. Since I’ve been living here, I’ve been on the hunt for businesses that provide great beauty, health and wellness services. And I must say that Groupon has been helping me get to try out a variety of spas and salons right in my area. I had a wonderful Hydra Facial last winter in Boston, but truth be told, I prefer to find businesses I like that are closer to home.

I have taken advantage of great pricing on manicures, mani/pedi combos, facials, and massages. These kind of services are expensive, so I’m eager to save money whenever I can. In fact, Groupon just had a surprise one day 25% off sale on Health, Beauty and Wellness services! It was almost too good to be true. It made their already affordable prices even more enticing. And through Groupon, I have found a number of local businesses that I go back to time and again for more services.

When I first started blogging, I took advantage of a great offer for a mani/pedi from what was then a new salon in Beverly MA, Studio Hair Salon. I think my toes look so cute in OPI Japanese Rose Garden! And I enjoyed writing about my experience.

The service I’m thinking about next is reflexology. Have you ever had a reflexology treatment? It’s an Asian science that links touch points on the feet to different parts of the body. Not only is it relaxing, but it helps me identify areas that I need to address or even talk to my doctor about. There are three salons that provide reflexology listed on Groupon within 5 miles of my house. Yes!

Check out Groupon’s great health, beauty and wellness services. And follow them on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-date info and tips!

Have you ever found Health, Beauty or Wellness services through Groupon? It’s easy to find great deals. If you haven’t done it before, just go to Groupon, allow the website to use your location, and search for the services you’re most interested in.  Let me know what services you’ve tried in the comments!

  1. I bought one service from Groupon Malaysia in the past and it was for slimming centre. I didn’t need it but my brother’s gf wanted to go and was so shy to go herself so I thought okay, I’ll accompany her. I HATED the place and how the consultant made her feel when she went for her consultation. The consultant started pouting out so many nonsense like cellulite, how her tummy has fat folds when she sat down and my brother’s gf felt extremely self conscious after that. And after pointing out all the so-called flaws, the consultant insisted that the coupon we bought are only for basic stuff and we need to pay RM500 or so more for the real treatment. Seriously wtf? And my brother’s gf ended up paying almost RM10,000 because she felt pressured into believing she needed to ‘fix’ her body. The whole thing was scam and honestly left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I kept reassuring her that her body is fine and they are just trying to make business out of her but the mental and emotional damage was done.

I know my story has nothing to do with Groupon but the whole thing left me with such a bad impression with Groupon Malaysia. And then there’s also lots of complains about fake goods sold on Groupon Malaysia, for such a huge company they should really keep an eye on what’s sold through their website. I’ve seen Guerlain foundation and YSL Touche Eclat sold on Groupon Canada but I didn’t place an order because I’m worried I’ll get a fake product.

I’m not sure if it’s the same with Groupon US? And omg, so sorry for writing a novel, Allison! LOL!

What a shame that experience left such a bad taste in your mouth, Shireen! First, I can’t imagine going to a weight loss spa rather than a nutritionist associated with my healthcare plan. You were a very good friend to go along with her.

Being completely honest, I have used a Groupon 80% of the time I have gotten a facial or massage or mani/pedi since I left NYC and moved to the Boston suburbs. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. And in terms of goods, I bought makeup from Jesse’s Girl and another well-known brand that I can’t think of right now and the makeup was 100% legit, not gray goods. Plus I got a great gift card from Groupon for Sephora.

I think you should consider giving Groupon Canada a try. For one thing, you would be evaluating the place yourself, not just going along with someone else who chose the salon/spa. It’s pretty easy to look at photos and check Yelp so you’re not choosing blindly. I’m sure you’d have better luck next time. 🙂

  3. Groupon has some amazing deals! I just used it to get cheap tickets to a botanical garden 🙂

    1. Excellent! We’re going to the Topsfield Fair in a couple of weeks with discounted tickets I got from Groupon. And I love that I can try new local beauty services without investing so much $. Win win for me for sure!

  4. I have never actually ever purchased any of the groupon deals, but I probably should!

    1. I love your pedi, BTW! Super cute with your pretty sandals, too!

      1. Thank you, Helen! I was sad that those sandals bit the dust. I loved the soft rainbow straw but it eventually stretched out too much to wear. My pedi went well with the colors!

    2. When I lived in NYC, I developed loyalty to certain spas and nail salons but out here in the ‘burbs, not so much. I like that Groupon allows me to shop around and try out lots of different spas.

  5. Groupon keeps changing my location to Chicago and doesn’t save my real location. Nonetheless I’ve found some great deals, especially food.

    1. That happens to me on occasion, Marcia. Ah technology! Just like you said, we use the restaurant vouchers a lot. We’re going to the county fair using Groupons in the next couple of weeks. And I haven’t developed a loyalty to the spas and nail salons around here, so I use the beauty Groupons often.

  6. I’ve never purchased from Groupon before but I have a lot of friends who love getting spa packages from them.

    1. Do you work as an aesthetician, Aleya? I seem to remember that you work in the biz somehow. If so, you’re all set. But for me, using Groupon has been a boon since I moved to MA from NYC and lost all my favorite spas and salons. I can experiment with “less skin in the game” 😉

  7. I’ve never gotten anything form them, but I have friends who get massage packages quite a bit.

    1. I am thinking of getting a reflexology next. Or I’d settle for just a foot massage, lol. I think you might enjoy some of the health, beauty, wellness services in your area. Worth a look?

  8. I used a Groupon for a facial two years ago and have been going to that business once a month ever since!

    1. That’s great to hear! And that’s how it’s supposed to work especially for the places of business that participate. They lure you in – or rather give you the opportunity to try out their service – and hopefully, they impress you enough to return regularly! It’s worked for me too!

  9. Groupon has some great deals!

    1. There must be some salons/spas worth checking out in your area. You haven’t even used one for a restaurant?

  11. Oh don’t get me started on Groupon, Allison! I may be a little obsessed! I find the best mani-pedi deals on there!

    1. Good for you, Babi! I am the same way. I hate to pay full price for a mani-pedi. I love getting a Groupon for that!

  12. I’m obsessed with Groupon! I used it to find a hairstylist when we lived in Spokane. I have most recently used the Canvas on Sale groupon to purchase some huge 16×20 canvas pictures of my girls. They are black and white pictures of them in fairy outfits in the woods that I hung in their play room. They look so good and they only cost around $20 each after shipping!

  13. I always receive groupon alerts but never had the chance to use any of them. I should consider purchasing!

    1. While you may not need the beauty services Groupons since you’re in the biz, the others are so helpful. Such a great way to try new products and services without breaking the bank. We’re going to the county fair in a couple of weeks using a Groupon, and they’re great for trying new restaurants, IMHO. 🙂

  14. I don’t use Groupon as much as I would like because sadly the towns in my area – there are not many services that enlist their service, but I have found some new business and I’m looking to get on it for a Spa day for the hubby and I. Now that we have the three boys, taking him to a fancy expensive spa without a discount is not easy so I need to really get it going on a cheaper alternative. That’s my goal 🙂

    1. I can see that in a rural area or small towns (like mine too), there aren’t as many options as in a city. Fortunately, I’ve found enough in my general area to give me some variety. Hope you’ll find a good one for you and your hubby to try out!
