The leaves have finally begun to change around here. The lack of rain really staved off the color change, but after a little rain last week, we’re seeing the maples and beech trees begin to show their fall colors.
The changing leaves and the new The All Natural Face cream blush I got in my Makeup Madness Beauty Box 5 this week (reviewed here) got me in the mood for fall-inspired makeup. I used the blush – a raisin shade – as the starting point for a daytime, natural looking but still autumn-inspired look. I used plum shades for the rest of the look. I was getting together with a friend at her house this afternoon, so I wanted to keep the look neutral and natural. It must have come out OK because she remarked on how nice my makeup looked when I arrived. 🙂
Here’s what I used:
Face
- IT Cosmetics CC+ Illumination Cream SPF 50+, Light
- Judith August Orange Masking Cream, Trio Concealer
- The All Natural Face cream blush, Dusky Rose
- Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind Highlighter, Pink
Eyes
- Urban Decay Anti-aging Eye Primer
- Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner Pencil, Deepest Black – tightline
- Sephora The Collection Eyeliner Pencil, Flirting Game (a golden plum) – lower lashline
- Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra, Over The Taupe
- Shiseido Lash Curler
- Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Lips
Here’s the finished look. Nothing too out there, but it felt new-ish to me. I was considering a deeper lip color, but I wasn’t sure if she would be wearing any makeup, so I thought I’d stay with a lighter, more natural lip. I’ll save the Burgundy lip crayon from butterLONDON for next time!
BTW, if you’re a fan of cream shadows and are looking for one that’s quick for everyday looks, I recommend the Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Sticks. They come in about 10 shades, and when I swatched them at Ulta, they were very pigmented. Plus they really stay put. I picked up Over The Taupe during the Ulta Beauty 21 Days when it was half off. I wish I had gotten a couple of deeper shades too. I’m keeping my eyes open for Mally sales!
And BTW, I’ve been impressed enough with Essie Gel Couture 2 step at-home mani system (reviewed here) to buy another shade, Pearls of Wisdom, a raisin-colored duochrome that went well with my color scheme today. With this system, I’ve been getting almost a week of wear which is really long for me. I also tried the Essie Gel Couture Topcoat over a Zoya polish, and that lasted almost a week too.
Have you changed up your makeup looks for fall yet?
Looking pretty! I bought so much stuff during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty that I skipped these Mally sticks and now I regret it! There is a navy blue one that looked really pretty.

There was so many enticing things to buy during the Ulta 21 Days, I don’t blame you for taking advantage of them, Agata. I restrained myself and bought 2 more Tarte The Lip Sculptor double-ended lipstick & gloss and the one Mally Stick. I wish I had bought a couple more of them, at 50% off it was a steal. The navy blue one was gorgeous.
I absolutely love this look, Allison! You look stunning! Perfect colors for the season!

You’re so sweet, Helen xoxo I was getting together with a new friend who doesn’t wear much makeup so I kept it simple. But the raisin-colored cream blush and nail polish were calling to me so I had to do something about it!
That is such a lovely look, Allison! Honestly the older I get, the more natural and neutral I want my makeup to be. I find wearing too much makeup or if my eyeshadows are too heavy, it just ages me 10 years so I like keeping my looks fresh and simple. And I love that IT Cosmetics CC cream, it’s the only CC cream that works well with my skin!

Thank you, Shireen! I agree especially for everyday, and that’s one reason I don’t do my brows every day. Last Friday night, we went to dinner at the home of our friends and I was testing a new eye shadow that really made an impact. Frankly, I felt out of place since the other two women weren’t wearing any makeup at all. Here in suburbia, I have to take it easy on the makeup for all but holiday parties I’m afraid.
I know what you mean Allison because I am living in a very small blue collar town and none of the mums in school wear makeup and I always feel a little out of place. I can’t go crazy with my clothes or looks or I get stares when I walk pass. Haha!

Same here! But I just did my brows and I’m wearing red lipstick, LOL. Just the opposite of what I said, and we’re going to the county fair 😉
I heard nothing but great things about It Cosmetics CC cream!

Thank you, Megan! I’ve been using UD AA Eye Primer for several years now. Although I have two others that I like, I reach for the UD the most.
Great colors. This is a nice soft look and perfect for fall. The only one I can’t use is Perversion Mascara since it always flakes on me.

No kidding? I’ve gotten to the point where I hesitate to recommend mascaras because they seem to work differently on different people. I have never owned a full size tube of Perversion but I have had several travel size, and in spite of the big wand that I usually don’t like and the heavy formula, it does a good job for me. Go figure.
Looks like I need Teddy Boy Lippie!
