Time for a Friday Find! Friday Finds are cool products that I either come across someplace or found in my stash that merit your attention. This time, it’s a new to me beauty tool. In fact, I’m probably behind the curve on this one. I just got my first glass nail file. Yes, just now.
I received Fab Nails Nail File and Buffer from Beauty Junkees.
When it comes to beauty tools – awesome makeup brushes and blending sponges, Beauty Junkees kills it. Well, they recently introduced their first glass nail file. The one I got is a small, 3.5 inches, and it comes in a sturdy frosted plastic case. I guess that makes it portable. Super easy to slip in a pocket or purse.
If you’ve never used a glass file as I hadn’t, it is mostly smooth but has an area that’s textured. What’s so different about it is that a traditional nail file or emery board can be quite coarse to do the filing. The glass file is lightly textured, but miraculously it files extremely well. Different from a traditional nail file, it files the nails smoothly, no jagged edges.
And it’s a 2 in 1 file. In addition to filing, the same textured area can be used to smooth away ridges and shine the nail at the same time. Yes! I’m a convert!
Even if you don’t wear polish, Fab Nails is a great way to keep your natural nails looking healthy and shiny. Speaking of healthy, you can wash the glass file with water, and it can be sterilized too.
Beauty Junkees Fab Nail File and Buffer 2-in-1 is sold on Amazon for $14.97. But take advantage of the 15% off discount code that Beauty Junkees has put together for readers of Never Say Die Beauty: NEVERS15 that’s good until February 28, 2017 on any Beauty Junkees purchase.
Are you a fan of glass nail files?
I’ve seen a couple of these glass file but when I touched the surface, it didn’t feel like much so I never bought one. Thank you for the review, Allison, I’ll need to buy one and give it a try. Does a glass file gets blunt after a while?

I have only had it for 3 weeks, Shireen, so unfortunately I can’t weigh in about longevity. But I see it as similar to the old-fashioned metal nail files that never seemed to wear down with the texture that is cut into the material. My expectation is that it will last a lot longer than the cardboard emery boards.
I love glass and crystal nail files, I refuse to use anything else! Great to know about this option as well. I usually pick up the $6 one at checkout at the local beauty shop, but not everyone has that option!!!

I haven’t been to Sally’s in ages since that one is open to me, and I’ll look out for full size options. I love this one for carrying in my purse!
Not only do I love this but so does my husband. He likes to buff his nails with it. I have to track it down when he uses it since he never puts it back where I keep it!

I think it’s so great that your husband discovered it. You’ll have to get him his own for Father’s Day 😉
I need this!

I believe it’s only been out for a couple of months. I was dying to try one. Handy to put in my purse mu bag, and the carrying case keeps it safe!
I have this and I like it!!!
Glad you’re a fan too! I love the little carrying case that comes with it
You know, I don’t think I’ve ever used a glass nail file either. I don’t do my own fingernails, but I do my own pedicures so I might get one of these in the future. Thanks for the info!

It’s great because there are no jagged edges using the glass file. I think it would work with toes too
I like glass files, they are always very gentle on my weak bendy nails.

This BJ glass nail file and buffer is just so handy, and I’m thrilled that it came with a case to protect the file from breaking! The case is a must
Oh my gosh, glass files are the best. I’ve broken so many though… I like the case that comes with this one, so I could keep it in my bag without risking breakage.

It’s a really great file and buffer in one. I love it and the carrying case is a real plus
I enjoyed your review on this glass file…when you add up the cost of all the toss away files it makes sense to get a glass file!
