Inexpensive Beauty Accessories from Rosegal

I saw the cutest thing on my Facebook feed that cost almost nothing so I had to go for it. Blending sponge holders with little bird feet that help the sponges dry faster. Aren’t these adorable?

I had never heard of Rosegal, an inexpensive online retailer from China. For about $10 delivered, I bought:

It took about two weeks for me to receive my order, but can you believe it, shipping was free!

At these rock bottom prices, I was afraid that the quality would be terrible. Surprisingly, the quality is great. I don’t think I would buy makeup from them, but for little accessories like this, it’s just fine.

The sponge holders look cute on my bathroom vanity. One is rose gold, and the other is metallic raspberry pink. Importantly, the sponges dry much faster with air circulating around them so there’s less chance of bacteria buildup.

The brush cleaner pads are adorable, and they really make cleaning my brushes – especially foundation and concealer brushes – much faster and more efficient. They have a little pouch where you can place your hand to hold the cleaning pad to make it easier to use and keep your hand clean.

The silicone makeup sponge is another story. I’m not sure I get this. The primary benefit is supposed to be that you use less foundation because the foundation doesn’t get sucked up into a sponge or brush; instead it sits atop the silicone. But for me, it is more difficult to apply my foundation. Rather than giving me the airbrushed look that a blending sponge does, the silicone sponge seems to smear the foundation around. Maybe I’m missing something or doing it wrong. Have you tried a silicone sponge? Any tips for me? I’m glad it only cost a dollar.

So that’s it. If you’re on a low buy like I’ve been but you feel the need to buy something, Rosegal.com is a place to look for inexpensive accessories. I think the sponge holders and the heart-shaped brush cleaning pads make cute little gifts or self-treats. They have lots of cute, super affordable stuff that’s especially perfect for girls, tweens and teens like trendy sunnies and adorable hair accessories. For adults, they have some fun scarves and hats that if you lost them, you wouldn’t feel bad. Take a look!

    1. These were too cute and too cheap to pass up, Shireen! check out Rosegal beauty tools and accessories one of these days. Not sure I’d take a chance on their clothes or maybe I’d go with some really trendy that I wouldn’t want to keep forever, but the quality on the little things I bought is absolutely fine

I hear you about the silicone sponge. I actually won it from the awesome Courtney of Phyrra. Couldn’t work with it no matter how hard I tried. Love these other items you got. Since I have never heard about Rosegal I will check them out as I love the brush cleaners.

    1. I remember Courtney writing about it a month or so ago. I am flummoxed by the silicone “sponge”. Frankly, it takes me years to use up a bottle of liquid foundation so I guess the benefit of using a silicone applicator doesn’t make sense for me. But you should check out Rosegal, Sandy, their stuff is sooooooo cheap. Not sure I’d buy clothing or makeup from them, but accessories and beauty tools, heck yes!

  3. I have a couple of those sponge holders on my Amazon list. I need to pick them up because seeing them in action in your pics lets me know that I neeeeeed them!

  5. I want those cute sponge holders. I love the idea of them and those little feet are so cute. I have a silicone sponge too but haven’t used it yet. I think there’s a steep learning curve with them.

    1. So yeah, they’re not anything you really “need”, but for 2 of them for less than $4, I couldn’t resist. The sponges do dry faster than my former method 😉

  8. Wait whaaat i totally need these. Right now I use mesh baskets to hold my sponges. These are so much cuter.

    1. I was doing the same thing, and they worked well enough. These ultimately take up more space, but they work faster and they are so much cuter!

  9. Those silicone sponges make no sense to me either! They look like face cleaners (a bit like the FOREO Luna)– not like a sponge to apply foundation! The sponge holders are darling!

  11. Gosh, I need EVERYTHING, especially the Beautyblender holders. I’ve lost count of the number of times my clean blender (damp and ready for use) has rolled off and fallen to the floor when I’m opening the bottle of foundation.

I hear you. Silicone sponge only works for people who have no textural skin issues. I don’t intend to use it but your holders are really cute

    1. Silicone applicator, a device in search of a reason to exist IMHO

  13. You really can’t beat those prices! I need to check them out!

    1. Yes, especially since they ship worldwide! Cute stuff

  14. Paula says:

I have ordered from Rosegal before and also purchased some unique fun things. Now about that silicone sponge-I hate mine! The concept is awesome but no matter which foundation I use I just can’t achieve that flawless finish. Plus it feels like my foundation just sits on top of my face. I have watched youtube videos on how to use it and even with all that and practicing with different techniques and formulas I have come to the conclusion that for me it’s just worthless.

    1. Glad you’re a fan of Rosegal too! But I’m with you, Paula! I hate the silicone sponge. I feel like it just smears my foundation around. And I agree with your description about your foundation “just sits on top…”. I’m glad I only paid 94 cents for mine. Hope you didn’t pay much more.

      1. Paula says:

Allison, Thankfully I actually ordered mine for less than a dollar. So no great loss!

        1. I’m glad that you didn’t pay much for it either, Paula. BTW, did you enter the giveaway for the $25 Sephora gift card?

  15. Adorable and great prices too!! What a great idea to dry sponges. I’ve never tried a silicon applicator…i just don’t think it’s the thing for me.
