I think you get the best bang for the buck with Paula’s Choice – well-made, cruelty-free skincare products based on science at an affordable price! The brand has several different skincare lines for different skin types and issues. There is definitely something for everyone.
Paula’s Choice new RESIST Omega+ Complex Serum came my way about a month ago. I take omega capsules for my eyes and heart at the suggestion of both my ophthalmologist and my GP. I didn’t know that omegas have skin benefits, even topically applied. Omega 3, 6, 9 have been shown to calm skin and reduce inflammation from environmental stress like UV light; they act as antioxidants. They reinforce skin’s natural defenses and help it stay strong and look radiant. At this time of year when we’re outside more, that’s so important.
For me, protection from UV damage is critical, but I need more than that. I am fixated on keeping my skin hydrated and plumped to prevent wrinkles and make my skin look younger and healthy. That’s where Paula’s Choice RESIST Omega+ Complex comes in as well. It contains sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid, to keep skin hydrated. Along with ceramides, cholesterol and shea butter, they strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier to prevent against moisture loss. With continued use, skin feels softer, looks smoother and more radiant.
RESIST Omega+ Complex comes in a heavy, well made airless pump bottle. The serum itself is a translucent white fragrance-free gel-cream that can be used not only on the face but on the neck, eyes and decolletage. It is quickly absorbed. It’s very gentle and it feels hydrating and nourishing upon application. In fact, during the heat of summer, moisturizer may not even be necessary. In my complex skincare routine, I use RESIST Omega+ Complex after cleansing, using toner and applying vitamin C serum. Since using Omega+ Complex, I can use a lighter weight moisturizer or just sunscreen.
As I mentioned, the bottle itself is rather heavy, so I didn’t bring it with me when I went to Jeff’s this weekend, and truth be told, I miss it. It’s the step that gives my skin an instant boost, that makes it feel better immediately IMO.

I have been a Paula Begoun’s fan and consumer since 1995. Her products have literally saved my skin from many skin problems. I have a love hate relationship with having a photo taken of me. But, on rare occasion, I don’t mind having a photo or two taken because I know that my skin is looking better and better every day. Paula’s Choice changed the way I take care of my skin. My favorite is the Resist BHA. I’d love to win this because menopause has turned my oily-my-whole-life skin upside down. I love that this serum contains HA, cholesterol and ceramides that would help strengthen my skin barrier and hopefully resolve the dehydration and peeling (!!!!) I’m experiencing.

I think they still are sampling, Christy, but only with purchase. 🙁 I’m pretty sure that you can buy Paula’s Choice at Nordstrom so if there’s a Nordie’s near you, it’s worth it to go in and just try out testers and hit the SAs up for samples! It’s a great brand because it’s still within the realm of affordability, and the ingredients and care with which the products are made is so high.
