Send Flowers from “SendFlowers.com” for Easy Long-lasting Gifts!

If you’ve followed Never Say Die Beauty for a while, you probably know that I love gardening and I adore flowers. Because I like to see the flowers I grow in bloom in the garden, I seldom bring them indoors. But I love to have flowers in my house, so I love receiving flowers as gifts, and I love sending them as well.

Just recently, I was lucky to have an opportunity to order flowers from an online floral delivery service that I wasn’t aware of: SendFlowers.com. The way that Sendflowers.com works is you go to their website, peruse their many floral designs, all of which come in a vase. I’ll tell you why that’s important. About a year ago, I sent two dozen long stem roses in a box to an elderly friend for his birthday, and I was surprised that my gift wasn’t more appreciated. Turns out, he didn’t own a vase, and his home health aid had to find one to borrow, trim the stems of the flowers and arrange them herself. It turned out to be a lot of bother for her. Gee, why didn’t I think about how inconvenient that would be for them? With the floral arrangements from Send Flowers, they are delivered by a local florist already arranged in a lovely vase. All the recipient has to do is put them on display!

In order to experience Send Flowers, I went to sendflowers.com, and from about a zillion options I chose the Fancy Orange Rose Flower Bouquet. It had bright orange, pink and red flowers in an orange glass vase that I thought would go well with my kitchen/great room decor. I was looking for an arrangement in the $45 range, so I was sent the “deluxe version” with three gorgeous orange roses as well as pink alstroemeria, deep pink and red carnations and greenery ($42.95).

Typically, when you order your selection on the website, you select the date that you would like the arrangement to be delivered. Because Send Flowers places an emphasis on freshness, the arrangement is hand delivered without any box or outer wrapping unless you specifically request that. That way the flowers don’t get squished, and they arrive in all their glory!

My flowers came from Ward’s Greenhouse, a florist in the next town, and a card from the florist with a greeting of the sender’s choice was enclosed.

In spite of the 90+ degree weather, my Fancy Orange Rose Flower Bouquet lasted without change for a week!

Here they are on Day 4!

After  5 or 6 days, I added some clean water to the vase to keep the flowers looking healthy. Here’s the bouquet on Day 7:

I removed the spent roses and alstroemeria after about 12 days, and my arrangement of super-long-lasting pink and red carnations still looks good on day 13! I can’t believe that I will still have flowers to display two weeks after receiving them, wow.

Need a gift at the last minute? Send Flowers has a special selection of “Same Day Delivery” arrangements. Need an affordable gift? They have another selection of arrangements for under $30! In addition to floral arrangements, Send Flowers can send balloons and stuffed animals if that suits your occasion.

Take a look at the Send Flowers website – you’ll be amazed at the variety of gift options as well as the variety in price points.

Speaking of price, Send Flowers has created two discount codes that you can select from that can be used repeatedly and that won’t expire, just for readers of Never Say Die Beauty:

  • NSDB20 – for 20% off
  • NSDBSHIP – for free shipping.

Today when I visited sendflowers.com, Ebates was offering an 18% rebate that is separate from the NSDB discount codes above. This. Is. A. Steal!

  1. These are gorgeous! I love having cut flowers, but not as much as my cats love to chew on them and knock them over! I am limited to having them in the master bathroom because it is the only closed door in the house!

    1. A friend told me that she received a similar arrangement from Send Flowers for her birthday yesterday, and she loved them. Just remember these codes for the future when you have an occasion to celebrate! The discounts always come in handy!

  3. You chose an arrangement that is so fitting for you. Those are the colors you gravitate to in cosmetics too. It’s a beautiful vase and flowers. When my elderly mom would get flowers not already arranged I’d have to make a trip to her apartment to get them out of the package and into one of her vases. As someone who’s not artistic I always worried that they didn’t look their best. Sendflowers would have made her so happy.

    1. I feel so foolish that it didn’t occur to me how difficult it is to send someone flowers without a vase and without being arranged. I like getting roses in a box myself, but not everyone does. I was very pleased with this company, and between their frequent sales, the discount codes and the Ebates refund, it can be quite affordable. Glad they found me!

    1. Me too. On occasion, Jeff will bring me roses and I’ll arrange them in one of my many vases. I also bring in flowers from my garden especially lilacs and lilies of the valley in the spring and occasionally roses when I can bare to cut them off the bush.

  11. That arrangement is really pretty! I really like flowers indoors and out. Especially the one that dries really well so you can keep them even longer in a new arrangement. I have lots of those too.
