Getting My Glow On with L’Oreal Age Perfect Rosy Glow Moisturizer

I am participating in a campaign for L’ORÉAL USA. I am receiving a fee for posting; however, the opinions expressed in this post are my own. I am in no way affiliated with L’ORÉAL USA and do not earn a commission or percent of sales.

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone. Delicious food, wonderful company, but for me, different than usual. A couple of weeks ago, I told you about decades of getting together at Thanksgiving with all my cousins and aunts and uncles, and how important our huge family photo tradition was to us.

This year, I got to be part of another family’s celebration. I went with Jeff to his “family” get-together (actually his ex-wife’s house)! His younger daughter and her new husband came back to Boston from their new home in North Carolina, and I was excited to see them. I hadn’t seen them since their wedding in September of last year. Different families have different traditions. No big family photo. Instead, each of us was asked to say what we were thankful for. Especially important in a year when I thought there was little to be thankful for.

Even though there were no photos, I still wanted to look nice. In addition to getting a little dressed up in a new black crushed velvet top I bought at the end of the summer,

I wore neutral makeup because most of the women at this event are not makeup wearers. In fact, most of them don’t appear to use moisturizer. I don’t get that. It’s such a small thing, but it makes such a difference. Keeping our skin hydrated as we age is so important IMHO, and so easy to do. Well, we all make our own decisions about what’s important to us, and staying youthful is important to me.

Speaking of moisturizer, I’m reporting back to you about the L’Oréal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Although I received the Rosy Tone Moisturizer free from L’Oréal as part of a campaign, truth be told, I was going to buy it myself anyway!

Two things about it captured me when I first saw it:

  1. The advertising campaign featuring Helen Mirren
  2. The gorgeous color of the moisturizer itself.

I’ve always admired Helen Mirren, both as an actress and as a person, and I love the fact that L’Oréal doesn’t believe women over 30 aren’t worth bothering with. For years, they have featured older women in their advertising and created skincare products specifically for our skincare needs. We’re all worth it. Go L’Oréal!

Plus, the gorgeous peachy-pink color is my favorite shade. I buy lipstick, blush, eye shadow, clothing, and accessories in that shade over and over again. Even the hallway in my house is peachy-pink!

I’ve been using L’Oréal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer for a couple of weeks so I feel like I can give you my thoughts at this point.

First, another important point about the color of the cream. Initially, I thought that it was just a pretty color, my favorite color, but the shade of the cream is linked to the “Rosy Tone” benefit. The moisturizer actually gives my skin a rosy glow! I have a light skin tone, so I can see the effect on my skin: I get a very nice blush indeed. Because the tinted moisturizer contains rosy pigments, it is designed to be flattering for most skin tones.

Another unexpected benefit of the rosy tone is that the blush-tinted moisturizer gives me a bit of coverage, almost as if I were wearing BB cream and for every day, I can get away without wearing foundation. How cool is that?

So what is it like to use L’Oréal Rosy Tone Moisturizer? It is a very thick cream. In fact, I think I will like this moisturizer even more as the winter arrives because it is so rich and protective. In fact, though Rosy Tone Moisturizer is recommended as a daytime moisturizer, because of the illuminating and rosy benefits, I sometimes wear it at night because it feels so nourishing.

The other key characteristic that I must mention is the scent. L’Oréal Rosy Tone Moisturizer has a floral scent. If you can’t handle scented skincare products, you will have to pass on this one. But I find the scent disappears after a few minutes on my skin.

L’Oréal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer contains exfoliating ingredients LHA and Imperial Peony that help mature skin look younger by sloughing off dead skin cells and stimulating cell turnover.

In sum, I recommend L’Oréal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer for mature women with dry or very dry skin that could use a boost in both radiance and color. The moisturizer is a good value: the pretty gold-tone topped glass jar that looks great on my vanity contains 1.7 oz. and is priced at $24.99. It is widely available, both on the L’Oréal website – where you can also learn more – and at stores near you.

Have you been intrigued by L’Oréal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer like I am? Have you tried it yet?

DISCLAIMER: I received this product for free for review from L’Oréal Paris, but the honest opinion in this post is mine alone.

  1. Great review Allison. I have several products to use for moisturizer but I really think I will try this one for winter. My skin gets super dry in our Michigan winters.

    1. And I am in love with that top!

    2. This moisturizer would be great for a Michigan winter. It is super rich. And the color is divine! Sandy, were you able to comment in the TapInfluence comment box that should have been right after the post ended? I’m wondering if it was giving you a problem???

  2. I have read really good reviews on that Loreal moisturizer and a few of my mature customers swear by it too.

  3. I love Helen Mirren. <3 (I recently saw her in this ad on TV as did the hubs – and he got a sudden hankering to watch Red & Red 2 – where she plays a great character – assassin!) I'm old enough that I could probably start looking into this product now. 🙂

  7. I was really interested in this product…. until I saw the “fragrance” part. It’s why I don’t use more drugstore brand moisturizers and serums–I just can’t stand the heavy perfumes that seem to be part and parcel of these products! Wish I could try a sample, though.

    1. You could smell mine, if you like. The coconut smell doesn’t last on your face, but you can smell it when you open the container!
