About three years ago, I made the switch to natural deodorants. I wanted to avoid aluminum and other chemicals in the anti-perspirants I had been using since I was about 11. Although I don’t perspire as heavily as I did when I was young, I still want to be odor-free and I’m often on the hunt to try new natural deodorant products and brands.
Company History
I was recently introduced to CRYSTAL. First, a little history on the brand. The founder of the company, CRYSTAL, took a trip to France in 1984 where he learned about a mineral salt product that was used to purify water. He realized that the mineral salts work as a natural, powerful and hypoallergenic deodorant. He imported the mineral salts, shaped them by hand and sold them as Le Crystal Naturel. In fact, I remember my cousin using the product years ago. Now, CRYSTAL still sells the original deodorant but has added other classic and contemporary forms to the product lineup.
Ingredients and How Crystal Natural Deodorant Work
As I mentioned above, mineral salts are at the heart of Crystal Natural Deodorants. The products rely on minerals, botanicals as well as other natural and naturally-derived ingredients to prevent body odor. Specifically, pure, safe mineral salts and sodium bicarbonate are the key ingredients that help keep you smelling fresh. The natural scents in the deodorants are made with essential oils and botanical extracts. Importantly, Crystal deodorants are cruelty-free. They are not tested on animals.
Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant
Last month, I received two packs of the newest addition to the CRYSTAL natural deodorant product line: Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant in Unscented and Lavender & White Tea. Frankly, when they arrived in cold, snowy, gloomy March, the packaging alone was a breath of fresh spring air. I was quite taken with the way they look. The pink and purple packaging is so pretty. They also have an innovative way at the bottom of the pack to twist up the deodorant. Cool.
What I especially love about Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant is the product form – the solid deodorant is translucent and dome-shaped.
It applies, by far, the best of any natural deodorant I have ever tried. It’s kind of like magic! It isn’t greasy, it isn’t goopy, it isn’t waxy, it isn’t sticky. It’s so lightweight, it’s almost imperceptible on my skin! It doesn’t clog my pores. After using it for almost a month, it doesn’t stain my clothes.
I like both the scented and unscented options. Sometimes, scented deodorants can be too strong. Not so with Lavender & White Tea. It doesn’t really smell like Lavender and I’m not sure what White Tea smells like. It has a very, very light scent that even those who tend to avoid scents would most likely find acceptable. I can’t smell it on myself at all. It doesn’t interfere with perfume I’m wearing. If I smell an item of clothing that I was wearing, I can smell a faint slightly floral pleasant scent (and no body odor!). In fact, I think I prefer Lavender & White Tea to the unscented option.
In terms of efficacy, it does quite well. It provides a full day’s worth of protection for me. It keeps me smelling good even after jogging. I haven’t used it yet during the heat of summer, but I’m eager to find out how it does in hot weather. The only time that I sometimes have to reapply or switch to a traditional antiperspirant is if I am very anxious or nervous about something. During those times, no natural deodorant keeps me completely dry. Fortunately, things that make me anxious don’t happen all the time. Whew.
In all honesty, of the three natural deodorant brands I have tried so far, Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant is my favorite. The aesthetics of the product – how it applies, how it feels on my skin, the fact that it doesn’t stain my clothes – are superior to the other natural brands I’ve tried.

Morning 🙋🏻☕️☕️ I’ve used the “solid” Crystal Stick for years! I love it. No chemicals under these arm pits. After doing major research on shaving and open pores then applying a “chemical” deodorant it changed my mind. Even in the middle of August, in Louisville, Kentucky 108 degrees it kept me dry. Oh, that’s wonderful to hear, DiEtta! Thank you for chiming in! I have used two other natural brands in the past few years, but Crystal Invisible Solid is soooooo much better to use in terms of how it feels on my skin – weightless, like it’s not there – but it does the job so well!
I’ve noticed lately some staining from my deodorant. Perhaps I should try this one.
Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant is essentially clear, and it was developed specifically not to stain skin or clothes. I’ve been using this for 5-6 weeks, and it has been perfect. I have this weird body chemistry where my sweat mixed with some natural deodorants (not Crystal) can turn the underarms on my clothes gray. I had a fit when I saw that when I was using a previous natural deo – that’s one of the key reasons why I switched!
I have ben using natural deodorants since i was a teenager, and always love to discover more good ones! I need to try these!
Crystal Invisible Solid Deo is my favorite natural deodorant yet. But if you have found one that works for you, no need to switch.
I’m willing to give this a try, but nervous I’ll sweat a lot
I love the packaging. I haven’t had any luck with natural deodorants. 1) so hard to apply – and rubbed the skin raw 2) another gave my arm pits a rash, red and peeling skin and so itchy.
Kristi, I can’t speak about your point #2 because I have never had that reaction to any deodorant, natural or traditional. But I can say that Crystal Invisible Solid Deodorant is unbelievably easy to apply. In fact, the consistency of the formula, the application, and the lightweight formula is the key reason why I love it. It’s like wearing nothing. And though it isn’t sticky at all, it has incredible slip during application.
This is the best natural deodorant I’ve used too.

Supposedly near me, it’s at all the CVS, Walgreens and RiteAid stores – whether that is the Crystal brand but not all the SKUs, I don’t know. That’s great that you’re doing a giveaway. It’s an excellent way for some new folks to discover it!
I’m the same way, I use to sweat a LOT when I was younger and never could have gone over to a natural deodorant. However, now that I’m older and don’t sweat as bad I’m wondering if I could make the switch. I’ll have to give this a try and see if I can.

I really like to use natural deodorants, but not all of them are effective enough for me. I need to try this one!
For a long time, a natural deodorant wasn’t enough for me either. But as I got older, I find I don’t perspire as much. However, if I am doing or going through something that’s stressful emotionally, I need a traditional antiperspirant. For most days, Crystal Invisible Solid Stick gives me a day’s worth of odor control.
