I’ve been traveling a lot lately, and it’s made me pretty stressed out. (So what else is new, you say!). Nothing makes me feel better than a long, hot shower. (I know, it dries out my skin.) So I was thrilled to have a chance to try out four Perlier bath sets — shower cream and body lotion — in four different scents and ingredient combos.
Perlier is an Italian brand of luxury bath and body products, made with natural or organic ingredients. I’ve seen the brand on HSN and its website, among other retailers. I am a shower gel and body lotion queen, but I never got a chance to try this lovely brand. I was so happy that it came my way through iFabbo, the beauty and fashion blogger’s site.
The Perlier products came as a TSA-friendly travel set in a thick clear plastic envelope. The shower creams are 1.6 fl.oz./50 mL and the body lotions are 1.0 fl.oz./30mL. As you may be able to see in the photo, I couldn’t wait to try these babies, and I forgot to photograph them in their “pristine” state!
Each duo is based on a different set of natural or organic ingredients. All of the shower creams soap up well when used with a pouf or wash cloth, smell heavenly, and rinse clean. The body lotions are all very moisturizing without being greasy at all.
Honey
The first set I tried was the honey pair with 100% Certified Italian Organic Honey. The shower gel comes in a clear plastic tube, and the amber color gel definitely makes it look like honey. The scent is a light floral, honey smell, as if the honey came from highly fragrant flowers. So lovely. The body lotion scent is the lightest of all with just a hint of a fresh scent. Though you most likely will not want to share, the scents are perfect for the whole family.
The product card refers to honey’s “richness, vitamins, proteins and minerals” that provide “deep down nutrition for the skin”. The website says, “Honey has been regarded for centuries as invaluable for its curative and protective properties. Honey helps the regeneration of damaged skin tissue while nourishing and moisturizing the skin, and improving tone and elasticity. All the essential nutrients of Honey and Virgin Beeswax that help nourish and improve skin have been combined to create Perlier’s line of Honey products.” Great to know that it’s helping to put back what my long shower is taking out!

Shea Butter and Citrus
Next, I tried the duo with 100% Organic Shea Butter and Citrus. I love citrus scents, so I was eager for this experience. I used them in the morning, and the citrus scent did not disappoint. It is not a orange scent, but a combination of citrus scents – lemons, limes and oranges – that makes for a piquant rather than a sweet smell. That makes it perfect for both men and women. I find it very refreshing, and the body balm scent is like being in a citrus grove.
The product card says that the shea butter is extracted in a proprietary manner that allows the ingredient to be more hydrating and effective than ordinary shea butter. I’m a big shea butter user, and Perlier does use the best quality shea butter. My dry skin can really use that!

Olive Oil
The light green 100% Organic Italian Olive Oil shower cream has a clean, herbal scent that is appropriate for both men and women. In fact, I’d describe it as “gender neutral” or perhaps even a little bit masculine. I think it would make a great Father’s Day gift for men who use shower gel.
The body balm is the most lightweight of the four options and seems to be a good lotion for those with normal skin. The product card describes the olive oil as being pressed from hand-collected olives grown via organic farming methods, resulting in olive oil that is high in vitamins and essential fatty acids.

White Almond
Now for my favorite! The tubes of the White Almond products say “Absolute Comfort”, and they’re not kidding. I ADORE this scent. The product card says that sweet almond milk and sweet almond oil are combined with marzipan. Maybe that’s it, that’s why it smells soooooo great. To me, this scent is the most feminine, and I love how it lingers on the skin.
The card goes on to say that almonds are high in magnesium, “an essential enzyme activator that plays a part in the formation and maintenance of skin protein”. The almond oil is good for dry or “delicate”, I assume that means sensitive skin.
White Almond Shower Cream Ingredients:

For me, the White Almond wins the day. I plan to buy more when I use these up. In fact, I found that Perlier makes lip balm, hand cream, and body oil in the White Almond formula and scent, and I hope to get them all at some point.

If you are gluten-free, check on the origin of the Tocopherol in the Olive Oil, the Honey, and the White Almond Body Balms. The shower creams and the Citrus body balm do not list Tocopherol as an ingredient. The other ingredients look OK for GF folks, but always check the list yourself.

I liked it so much, Monica, that I purchased the full-size versions of the White Almond! Surprisingly, the scent on the full-size is a little different but still yummy.
