Robin McGraw Revelation OMG Is It Really Me? Instant Face Shaper
A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed three facial skincare products from Robin McGraw Revelation (here). I liked both the Eye Cream and the Neck & Decollete Cream (I’m still using both), but the Instant Face Shaper was a fail. It had a weird gel consistency that pilled when applied alone, and it made foundation ball up. I tossed it.
But when I looked for information about Instant Face Shaper on the Robin McGraw Revelation website, there was none. At that time, I speculated that the product was pulled and was being reformulated.
Turns out, I was right or maybe almost right. The folks at Robin McGraw Revelation asked me if I would like to try a new bottle of the product, and I said why not?
The name and packaging for the reformulated OMG Is This Really Me? Instant Face Shaper remain the same.
When I pumped out some of the gel, it looks similar to the gel in the first bottle. But the new gel looks more moist, and the texture feels very different, much less dry and much smoother. It’s a blob instead of a squiggle like the last time! (Excuse my dirty nail. I was working in my garden for hours and stacking firewood all afternoon, and I didn’t realize that I needed to use a nail brush!)
Applying it to my face, it spreads easily and feels cooling on my skin. It seems to sink right in almost instantly. It actually gives my skin a slightly tightened sensation. The fine lines under my eye socket are smoothed and no longer obvious.
Next, how would it work under foundation? It works very well. In fact, it seems like a primer providing a smooth canvas for the foundation.
Robin McGraw Revelation Instant Face Shaper did a complete 180. It went from awful to terrific! I love it when companies listen to their customers and act on the feedback that they get. I went back to the website, and I saw that Instant Face Shaper is back on the site. I am wondering if I just got a bad batch last time? The reviews (there are about 75 reviews) are overwhelmingly positive, and it seems like OMG Instant Face Shaper has been available for a while. So maybe that was it – a bad batch that was pulled and fixed.
I’m really happy that I got another opportunity to try Instant Face Shaper. It’s a very cool product that you can feel working, and it enhances how my foundation looks rather than interferes with it. I’m impressed. Thank you, Robin McGraw Revelation!

Beauty by POPSUGAR Be Sweet Tinted Lip Balm, shade Blush Crush 02
In my first Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, I received a tube of Beauty by POPSUGAR Lip Tint in a pretty pink/coral MLBB shade, Blush Crush. I was psyched because it seemed like it would be a perfect everyday lippie for my dry lips. I quickly tried it on, and it was awful. It had the grainiest consistency ever! It was unwearable. I tossed it.
I immediately tried to email POPSUGAR about it, but the email bounced back to me even though the email address was the one on the POPSUGAR website. Grrrrrrr. So next, I emailed Ipsy Customer Service. One of the reps got back to me a couple of hours later. She said she would request that POPSUGAR send me another tube. She also gave me a $5 credit. Several weeks went by but no replacement product arrived. I emailed the customer service rep, and I got a reply from a different woman who said she was taking over my “case”. She said that there would be no replacement, and I had already been given a credit. I thought it was a rather snippy reply, and I wrote back something, though I can’t remember exactly what 😉 Today, quite unexpectedly, I received another tube. And the consistency is as smooth as can be.

It’s nice to hear about instances when companies actually listen to feedback from their customers. So often it’s the opposite. Sad the second ipsy rep was snippy though. You were just going by what the first person told you so there wasn’t any reason for her to take that tone.
Rachel, I think I must have gotten a bottle from a bad batch because my friend Marcia also got a bad bottle sent around the same time. I am so glad that they removed the product from their website, fixed whatever went wrong, and got things back on track. I’m also glad they asked if they could send me a replacement bottle. I’ve been wearing it everyday since I got the new one, and it is gooooood stuff. About the 2nd Ipsy Customer Service rep, I don’t know what her problem was. You nailed it!

I’m so glad I received another tube of the POPSUGAR Tinted Lip Balm because it’s great. Two bad products within a week or two is just plain weird, but glad the companies sent out replacements!

I think it must have been a bad batch if we both got bottles with product that was no good. I’m assuming others did too, so that’s why they took it down from the website for a short while. I agree that you should just skip reviewing it because it isn’t representative of the actual product.

If you still have young skin that doesn’t need firming, then the eye cream might be an excellent one to try first.

Popsugar makeup is surprisingly good! i had the opportunity to try some of their products when the line just launched and pretty much loved everything. The lip glosses are especially nice – pigmented, non-sticky, and smell like vanilla :3
That’s why I was surprised that the first Popsugar Tinted Lip Balm that I first received was so bad, so gritty, so unusable. I was happy that I was finally sent a replacement that was perfect.
