When it comes to the big ticket items, you know what’s best. But sometimes you’re looking for “a little something”, and I may have some ideas that might help.
In addition to beauty products, I will mention some other cool stuff that I’ve come across.
Cambridge Rainbow Color Titanium Plated Stainless Steel Flatware
I’m in love with rainbow colored unicorn everything. No surprise, right? Anyway, after I purchased two Moscow Mule mugs in rainbow colors at Homegoods for $6.99 each, I saw this mini service with 4 place settings for less than $20.
The set I bought has a large fork, knife and moderate size spoon, so it’s not the standard place setting. Nevertheless, Amazon has a 5 piece setting for 4 for $26.25 that I would say is an even better deal. The pieces are more lightweight than my regular everyday flatware, but I get a smile whenever I use them. Dishwasher safe.
Honestly Margo Roller Girls Roll-On Lip Gloss
If you have any tweens or young teens on your gift list and are looking for a fun stocking stuffer, Honestly Margo’s new Roller Girls Roll-On Lipgloss may fill the bill. It is a clear, fruit-scented lipgloss in a clear glass rollerball that’s made with better for you ingredients. Plus unlike lipglosses of old, it’s not the least bit sticky!
The brand, Honestly Margo, was founded by a teenager when she was only 12 in order to empower girls and teens. She runs the business in conjunction with her mom. Most of the 7 beauty products in the line are made with less than four ingredients! The lip glosses come in 6 different scents. I have strawberry and grape. It’s very smooth, shiny and it helps my dry lips. I’ll be giving away the Grape soon, since the Strawberry will last me a long time. $12 on the Honestly Margo website. There are some unicorn products – Fizzy Bath Dust, Hand & Body Scrub and Body Lotion – that look adorable, too!
Luster Power White Pro Sonic Whitening System
I have written about the Luster Whitening Systems before because I have had good results with them. This time, I have a deluxe set to tell you about: Luster Power White Pro Sonic Whitening System. It reminds me of the Luster 2 Minute Dental Whitening System that I wrote about two years ago that included an Accelerinse and a Stain Lifting Serum. I had very good results from the duo.
Now, the Power White Pro Sonic Whitening System is even more complete. The System contains the Accelerinse and Stain Lifting Serum, but also an electric toothbrush with soft bristles with a built-in timer (with a spare head and 2 AA batteries included) as well as Power White Pro Toothpaste. I’ve been using the Pro Sonic Whitening System for about 8 days and my teeth are definitely lighter/whiter than they were. There’s even a shade guide that I should have used when I started, but I can see the difference in the color of my teeth.
I use the complete Power White Pro System most mornings, while at night, I use the PM Stain Lifting Toothpaste from the AM/PM set that I wrote about several weeks ago. Now I have sensitive teeth, and there are no white strips that I can use without extreme pain after a few days. With Luster Power White Pro Sonic Whitening System, I have no pain or sensitivity at all. I can use this every day without issue. The System was developed by dentists, is enamel-safe and sulfate-free. The MSRP is $24.99, but it’s $23.99 on Amazon with free delivery via Prime.
Bladetap 3-in-1 Razor Unclogger
This handy dandy little item just arrived a couple of days ago, and I was so intrigued. I am not one to change my razor blades once a week as the manufacturer suggests. Not with the price of blades these days! So I am absolutely, positively going to give Bladetape 3-in-1 Razor Unclogger a try. I kept the white one, I just gave the black one to Jeff, and I will add the pink one to my giveaway box. Of course, Bladetape works with multi-blade razors.
There are 3 small brushes at the top of the unit that are used to unclog the blades. You can even make them vertical if you prefer. You tap the blades against the brushes and then rinse with water. Then to sharpen the blades, you slide the blades up on the pad in the opposite direction from which you shave. My assumption is that the pad straightens the blade similar to how a knife tool works to straighten the blade.
Also, the razor hangs on the device that comes with a suction cup that clicks into the back of the unit.
Cool! I love gadgets. Priced at $17 and available at bladetap.com. Check out the video below to see how it works!
Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette
During the Sephora sale in November, I came home with this cute little Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette. I thought would be perfect for travel or to carry in my purse makeup bag.
It has two neutral matte shades and three shimmer shadows including a gorgeous duochrome. The shades are from the big pricey Star Palette: Orion (green-brown duo-chrome), Atik (medium transition nude matte), Bellatrix (nude metallic), Earth (dark brown matte), Cosmo (sparkling golden olive). I love it! $25 at Sephora.
Huda Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes
Last year, I bought Smokey Obsessions, and I really loved it till somehow the black shadow shattered and got black powder all over the other shades. Boo hoo. I especially loved the silver shadow in that palette.
Not to be deterred, I bought one of the jewel toned Obsessions palettes from the Precious Stones collection that was introduced in November: the Emerald palette with a variety of greens and gold. I know this isn’t a palette that I’ll use often, but I to have greens to play with. The other jewel-tone palettes look beautiful too.
Socks from Target
I picked up a cute sparkly pair of black ankle socks that I saw at Target. Love ’em!
These are a few things that I’ve been enjoying. But let me remind you of a number of other small gifts that I’ve mentioned earlier this holiday season or in the past including Good Janes Kiss My Lash 3-way Adjustable Hands-free Mirror and Stand that I reviewed last week – for $30, this is my key recommendation for a makeup lover!
Other brands and products to keep in mind:
- beauty accessories and tools from The Vintage Cosmetic Company at JC Penney and Ulta
- bath and body products including gift sets from Rituals at Ulta, Barneys and Rituals stores
- Rapid Dry Hair Turban from Aquis
- Jade face roller from Skin and Senses, $20.80
- Mont Bleu glass nail files: single, sets of 2, 3 or 6 files with or without Swarovski crystals
- personalized affordable sterling silver necklaces and keychains from Messages In Metal
- anything from Farmhouse Fresh but especially the absolutely delectable Vanilla Bourbon Body Oil and Chocolate Fig Face Serum
- socks, stockings and pantyhose from Berkshire – I got more ankle socks including a black floral lace pair!
What a great array of affordable gifts!
I am loving that green and gold palette!
Those roller ball glosses bring back memories! I kinda want some! haha
for sure 😉
A razor unclogger?!?!?! OMG, I need one in my life!!!!
Who knew, right? But so handy!
I’m totally curious about the razor unclogger. Does it extend the life of the razor?! Can’t wait to hear more about it.
super choices. I like the idea of Blade Tap. I only use a razor about 3 times a week so I don’t have to change blades often and this would keep the blades in cleaner shape. I just ordered some false lashes that Phyrra recommends in her new book so now I need to order that mirror.
Yes, you need the mirror!! I just started using Bladetap, but I didn’t want to wait several weeks to review it in case anyone was interested in gifting it. So I’ll see what happens over a few weeks. Although my hair doesn’t grow that fast, for some reason, I shave every day even though there’s not much to shave. So my blades don’t really get clogged, but I am still curious about the blade sharpener. I’ll let you know!
Oh do those rollerball glosses bring back memories! Sticky memories!
Times have changed 😉 The Honestly Margo Roller Girl Lipgloss isn’t the least bit sticky. I need to go back and add that. Thanks Cindy!
I am bordering on obsessed with those sparkled socks! How fun!
Those Natasha Denona mini palettes are seriously adorable, I’ve been contemplating grabbing one for traveling. It’s really hard to be on a no-buy sometimes 🙁
I like those bite sized snacks of ND and Huda. Good palettes at an excellent price.
Some nice ideas! The Huda look so pretty!
I have two of the Huda Beauty palettes and now I am obsessed! The Natasha Denona palette looks very pretty too!
