As you know, I am a great fan of bath and body products. I have two artisan-made, natural and organic, indie brands that are particular favorites:
- Humboldt Soap Company
- Nature Island Botanicals.
Over time, I feel like Daphne from NIB who I’ve known for more than a decade and Arice from HSC who I’ve known for about 6 months now, seem like old friends. I love the products from both brands. From HSC, I adore the Body Mousse and facial moisturizer Cremeplexion.
From NIB, I love the gorgeous soaps, and the body lotions and body butters in Caribbean Escape and Citrus Sunrise scents. I highly recommend them.
For Easter and Mother’s Day, both brands are having sales of different sorts:
- Humboldt Soap Company has 20% off of products through May 8
- Nature Island Botanicals has free shipping till April 19.
The HSC sale has come along at just the right time for me. I have gone through 3 and a half jars of Body Mousse in the past several months:
- Strawberry & Pear
- Banana & Mango
- Blackberry & Coconut.
- and I’m halfway through Coffee & Chocolate.
I had just finished up Blackberry & Coconut after my shower on Wednesday while I was getting ready to go out to lunch with two of my friends. When I got into the car, my friend Laura remarked about how good I smelled. When I wear Blackberry & Coconut Body Mousse from HSC, I don’t even bother with perfume because the scent is so long lasting. I’m going to take this sale opportunity to replenish my favorite scents!
I bought so much stuff from Daphne at the end of August when she was in Gloucester for the Waterfront Festival that I still don’t need anything, but you know how much I like free shipping!
To order from HSC, check out the HSC website here. and use the code: SPRINGSALE at checkout. To order from Daphne at Nature Island Botanicals, calling or texting her is the best way especially if you want particular fragrances of the soaps at (954) 646-4005, or you can message her on Facebook at Nature Island Botanicals, or click over to her Etsy shop “natureislandskincare” here.
On a different topic, we’re heading to NYC for a very quick visit. Hopefully, we’ll get to the Japanese Ramen Festival in the East Village, see two exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum, meet my close friend MK at the Guggenheim Museum to see another exhibit, and then go out to dinner on the Upper East Side. On Sunday, we’re going for brunch at Momofuku Ssan Bar, a restaurant that I have wanted to try for ages (actually, it was their first restaurant Momofuku Milk Bar that I had wanted to go to, but instead we’re going to their newer restaurant). Then we’ll go to the newly opened Hudson Yards on the West Side and check it out.
Have a wonderful weekend!
