If you’re a city dweller or if you live near a major road or highway like I do, the air quality isn’t always the best. Not only is it bad for your lungs, it’s not great for your skin. Enter Paula’s Choice Triple Algae Pollution Shield. While it won’t help your breathing, it will help protect your skin from pollution and other environmental stressors.

Soothing green, red and brown algae along with other antioxidants help revive your glow form a weightless, hydrating, protective shield over your skin. The antioxidant glutathione (I hadn’t heard of it either, but it’s a good thing!) and polyphenols from grapes (precursors to antioxidants) both protect skin from free radicals. The shield created by this serum prevent airborne particulate matter from sticking to skin. That sounds pretty amazing to me!

When I lived in New York and worked at The Rockefeller University, I used to jog at lunchtime along the FDR Parkway. Honestly, any health benefits I thought I was getting from running was certainly ruined by the polluted air I was breathing and that was sticking all over my skin. Frankly, I have always assumed that my asthma was due to running every day in New York during decades of non-existent emissions standards. I wish I had had a product like Paula’s Choice Triple Algae Pollution Shield to at least help protect my skin.

I’ve been using the serum for about a month because I have been spending a lot of time exercising outdoors, gardening and relaxing at the beach. I think it’s a warm weather must.

The translucent lightweight gel serum comes in a tube containing 1 fl. oz./30 ml. A little goes a long way. I don’t perceive it as having a fragrance. It’s sold on the Paula’s Choice website, Nordstrom and on Dermstore.com and Skinstore.com.

For more information, check out Triple Algae Pollution Shield on the Paula’s Choice website. Paula’s Choice is a cruelty-free brand.

  9. Paula’s Choice is my go-to. I use Beautypedia to round out my skin care with a couple of considerably less expensive, top quality products from other companies. I use the PC ingredients dictionary at list three times a week. PC has so much integrity when it comes to research-based products and knowledge.

    1. I feel the same way about Beautypedia, and I know I have written about it on the blog some years ago. Paula’s Choice has frequent sale, so it is usually within reach 🙂
