October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and pink is everywhere. While most women are already “aware” of breast cancer, I think of this month as an opportunity to remember my dear dad who died from breast cancer years ago, make sure my mammogram appointment is up to date as well as to donate to the eradication of breast cancer through research and treatment. Purchases made to brands and companies that donate to breast cancer causes help overall.
This month, Ulta has teamed up again with IT Cosmetics and is selling an adorable pink heart-adorned foundation brush that has super soft, densely packed bristles in the shape of a heart, Love Is The Foundation. It’s part of the Love Beauty Fully collection.
It’s the cutest thing ever! I thought it might be awkward to use or just a gimmick. But I was happy to discover that the heart-shaped bristles are perfect for getting into the folds of the nose.
I was very lucky that a generous blogger friend who knew about my love of all things heart-shaped gifted the brush to me. Thank you, thank you! The Love Is The Foundation brush is pricey at $30, but for every Love Beauty Fully brush sold by Ulta, one brush is donated to the Look Good Feel Better program to help women face the appearance-related side effects of cancer and cancer treatment with confidence.
Right now, Ulta has a 20% off coupon for most products including prestige so that would help make the adorable brush more affordable.
Ulta has three other Beauty for a Cause products as well:
- beautyblender BCRF 2019 Makeup Sponge, $20
- BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Power for $39 and Ultimate Lipstick Love Pink Ribbon for $24: BECCA donates 20% of the purchase price to BCRF through June 20, 2020
Do you have any special rituals for Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
What a great brush and a great cause. I am so sorry to hear that this horrid disease was the cause of your father’s death.

Thank you, Helen <3
Allison, my Mother is a breast cancer survivor! Wish I needed a new brush but am all set right now. My daughter gifted me a set of brushes this summer. I am so sorry about your father….we need to get this info out that men can have breast cancer too.
I’m glad that your mother is a survivor! Thank you for the kind words about my father, Sandy. When he was diagnosed with breast cancer, only 2% of men contracted it. I wonder if today he would have been saved? At any rate, I am glad that so many new and more effective treatments exist now!
Sorry about your dad. Breast cancer or cancer in general affects all gender indeed.
This is a lovely brush, I’ll check it out for sure
I’m honestly so surprised they changed their original! It’s a classic now!
The heart shaped IT Cosmetics brush is just a promotion for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They come out with it for special events every now and then.
