First, you may have gotten an email from Sephora announcing that they are closing their physical stores to help protect their employees and prevent the spread of the Covid-19. I think they are doing the right thing. Last night, I noticed that on their website Ulta announced that they will be closing their stores on March 19 at 6pm.
Informational LinkWith everything going on with Covid-19, I haven’t been focusing on beauty news. My catalogue from Ulta announcing their spring 21 Days of Beauty was late in arriving, so I looked at the calendar for the sale online. Yet, I’m finding it hard to concentrate even on one of my favorite things, beauty products! Frankly, I know with so much financial uncertainty with peoples’ jobs and savings, spending money on cosmetics is not top of mind. Nevertheless, even if I/we are not in buying mode, sometimes it’s a good break from the serious just to “window shop”.
So with that, Ulta 21 Days of Beauty started on Sunday, March 15 and it will run through April 4. They’re doing some interesting new things this time around. In addition to the Daily Beauty Steals – individual products – that are 50% off, each of the weeks will have Weekly Hot Buys, a category of products where specific products are 30% off. BTW, there were products listed as “online only”, but as of March 20, everything will be online only because the stores will be closed.
Like last year, Platinum and Diamond members qualify for free shipping for the Daily Beauty Steals. And while their stores are still open, you can save money on shipping if you’re not Platinum or Diamond, by ordering online and then picking up in store, if it can happen by March 19 when the stores close. If not, Ulta is offering free shipping for Daily Beauty Steal purchases over $15.
Let’s take a look at the sale.

Hot Weekly Buys March 29-April 4: 30% off Lip and Hydration
So this is the list. I started out thinking I wasn’t going to buy anything, but now that I see the list up close and personal, I am planning to pick up a product I wanted to try for a while (MAC Prep & Prime and maybe BECCA Ultimate Lip Love) and several staples (Benefit BADgal Bang Mascara, IT Cosmetics No. 50 Primer Serum). I’m still thinking about the Lime Crime Venus Palettes, but I know I have too many palettes already.
How about you? Is there anything you have your eye on?
Surprisingly I haven’t been tempted by anything. Right now I’m concerned with skincare but I have so much that I can’t justify buying anything. Closing the stores is the best thing they could do but it’s all going to be strange.

I didn’t think I was either, but then when I went through the calendar day by day, I saw two products I had wanted to try and one or two staple products for me. We’ll see what I do. I’m glad Ulta closed. So many stores around here are now closed, it makes sense though what will happen going forward is very scary
I’m glad you found some things you were interested in. To me the 21 Days of Beauty keeps getting more and more lackluster each year.

I’m on the fence about 21 Days, Cassie. I use it to stock up on my staples, and this time there are 2 or 3 of my go-to products listed. And there are 2 products that I have wanted to try for a while now, not counting Lime Crime Venus palettes that Courtney loves. When you go to the website, Ulta lists more unusual and new indie brands that are part of the sale. And I am guessing that sales aren’t great since we’re all otherwise engaged, they added more 50% off products to today’s list.
