Green Tea is the perfect spring time ingredient. The freshness, the green color give me a lift just thinking about it. As a skincare ingredient, the antioxidant green tea extract has been shown to provide many benefits: e.g. helps diminish the signs of aging, is an anti-inflammatory that calms and soothes redness and swelling, evens out discoloration, repairs damage from environmental pollutants, exfoliates, decreases the appearance and occurrence of blackheads, eliminates dead skin, dirt and bacteria, reduces under eye puffiness and dark circles, and hydrates. Whew, that’s a lot of benefits.
One of the staples in my skincare routine is Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Essence (reviewed here).
A couple of years ago, I received a full size bottle in my Ipsy Plus bag, and it has been one of my tried and true skincare products ever since. I just purchased my third bottle to replace the bottle that’s almost finished, and Macy’s included a gift with purchase. Actually, I still haven’t received my Green Tea Essence purchase yet, but they sent me the gifts along with the mini MAC Satin Lipstick that I wrote about yesterday (here).
My gifts were a mini pink tube of Tony Moly Peach Hand Cream, and the Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Special Kit. The peach hand cream is definitely something that I could use. I have a ton of different hand creams, but because I am washing my hands every two minutes, I leave hand cream at every sink in my house as well as mini tubes in my purse and in the cars. Tony Moly Peach Hand Cream has a delightful peach fragrance that I just love smelling on my hands. It makes my hands feel so soft and smooth. I actually forgot that I bought the cutest little peach shaped jar of this hand cream at Ulta a few years ago (reviewed here). I think I need another one! If you’re a peach scent fan, consider it.
The Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Special Kit contains minis of three products that are part of the larger Green Tea collection:
Tony Moly Green Tea products contain extract of naturally fermented green tea “ChungTaeJeon” leaves. Green tea is rich in polyphenols, catechins (another type of polyphenol and antioxidant) and caffeine, making it a terrific skincare ingredient with all the benefits that I listed above. Two of the three products were new to me, so I was happy to get to try out a sample.
Watery Skin Toner
“This hydrating toner, tones and soothes skin gently, creating a complexion that appears revitalized, brightened, and softened. The antioxidant fermented green tea replenishes and balances skin’s moisture levels, purifies, and prepares skin to absorb serums and moisturizers more efficiently.”
So far, I really like the Watery Skin Toner. It has a delicate, faint scent of green tea, and it is truly gentle on my skin. It’s hydrating unlike other toners that can sometimes be drying.
Watery Essence
“The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Essence contains the moisture of fermented green tea cultivated by sunlight, wind and nature throughout the four seasons. The highly concentrated moisture essence in formulated with over 80% Green Tea extract and helps quench skins thirst as it delivers moisture deep into the skin.”
Watery Essence is the essence that I use every day. The little tube that the mini came in is so adorable. It would be so handy for travel, if I were traveling (boo hoo). I should save it for the future, but who knows when it will be safe to go on a trip. Instead, I put it in my purse makeup bag in case my skin needs a boost of hydration during the day.
I really adore Watery Essence. It is so lightweight that I even hesitate to call it a gel. It’s a fluffy, cloud like gel that sinks into my skin immediately. So delightful to apply. And it dries down completely. It’s like an invisible layer of moisture in my skincare routine.
Watery Cream
“Formulated with pure fermented green tea extract in lieu of distilled water, this antioxidant-rich cream is gel based to provide intense hydration without being sticky or too heavy on skin. The gel based cream contains over 63% of fermented green tea extract and allows skin to retain moisture for long hours by forming a thin hydrating layer on dry skin.”
Because Watery Skin Toner and Watery Essence are so lightweight, I thought that Watery Cream would be too lightweight for my very dry skin. I was wrong. It is a thick gel-cream that is so hydrating and so soothing, it is a pleasure to wear. It has the faintest scent of green tea that I can only smell if I put my nose in the jar. If I didn’t have so many jars and bottles of moisturizer in my stash, I would definitely buy a full size of Watery Cream.
The Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea collection also includes an eye cream, a lotion, cleanser, hand cream, soothing gel, cleansing water, and a hydrating mist. There are a couple of duo packages of two products as well as a Holiday Set with 3 or 4 products. The Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea skincare products are sold on the Tony Moly website, at Macy’s, Skinstore.com, and iHerb.com. I was disappointed that the Green Tea collection isn’t available at Ulta even though some of the other Tony Moly skincare products, including the hand cream, are.
Too bad that range of products are not available at Ulta! The Green Tea collection really appeals to m a lot!

It turns out that some of the Green Tea collection is at Ulta.com, e.g. the Watery Cream (though it is sold out now), just not my product the Watery Essence
I’ve only ever tried Tony Moly’s face masks but I liked what I tried. I also liked the sound of these products as well. They sound especially good for my psoriasis. That peach hand cream though, that’s going to be a pass. Peach scented stuff gives me a headache, which is weird since it’s only peach scented stuff *shrug* OH SNAP, that’s why the Too Faced Peach line doesn’t work for me, OMG how dumb am I *face palm* I’m leaving now, have a good one LOL

That’s a great gwp. I’m not sure I’d like the scent of it but I’d love to smell it to know for sure.
