Heat Holders The Warmest Thermal Socks

It’s snowing again. We had a snowstorm on Sunday that dropped about 5 inches on top of the ice that we already had.

And now we’re picking up another 3 inches, supposedly. Fortunately, it looks like lightweight snow. I think I will wait till it stops snowing to go out and shovel.

Monday really looked like a winter wonderland with the snow covering all the trees against a brilliant blue sky. When the sun shone on the trees, the branches looked like they were studded with diamonds. I wish I had taken some photos.

Because I spend a lot of time outdoors shoveling, walking or hiking, I need to keep my feet warm. I have found socks this season that I love. And now, another brand that I’m impressed with has come my way: Heat Holders.

Heat Holders’ tagline is The Warmest Thermal Socks. I would actually go a step beyond that. To me, Heat Holders socks are the most comfortable thermal socks I’ve ever worn.

Heat Holders socks are made from a Japanese-designed thermal yarn that provides high performance insulation against the cold while allowing the socks to breathe so moisture does not build up inside the socks.

The inside of each Heat Holders sock is brushed for warmth and also softness.

Often other thermal socks that I have that are made from rag or wool are itchy and scratchy. Heat Holders are so incredibly comfortable. In addition to comfort, the brushing process that Heat Holders employs maximizes the amount of warm air that remains inside each sock to help feet stay toasty warm. I really love my Heat Holders socks because they are warm and NOT ITCHY!

Another cool (I guess I should say “warm”) thing about Heat Holders socks is that they come in a variety of warmth levels/thicknesses: Ultra Lite, Lite and Original. Each warmth level is given a “thermal grade” or TOG. The thermal grade is based on several factors, one of which is the length of the loop that goes from minimum through long to provide cushioning as well as warmth.

  • Ultra Lite: TOG 1.0, thinnest sock that fits under tighter fitting casual shoes
  • Lite: TOG 1.6, medium thickness sock that fits under casual shoes
  • Original: TOG 2.0, the original, thick, cushiony sock that’s made for wear with boots or other outdoor shoes.

I received a pair of each warmth level women’s socks that fit size 5-9. I typically wear a size 6.5 shoe. The Originals are slightly long for my small feet, and at first, I was afraid they would bunch up at the heel in my boots, but they worked out fine. They are my go-to socks to wear with my boots when I’m outdoors shoveling or hiking. They keep my feet feeling toasty warm the entire time I’m outside. BTW, they make men’s and children’s socks as well.

Both the Lite and Ultra Lite fit my feet perfectly, and I tend to wear them with shoes or casual fashion boots.

As a matter of fact, while I was sitting at my desk to write this post, my feet were freezing. I had been wearing a pair of cotton socks with my Clark’s that I wear around the house or for casual wear when there’s no snow on the ground. Somehow, there is a cold breeze that comes from under my huge, heavy office desk cabinet. Because this piece of furniture is so gigantic, I can’t investigate to see where the cold is actually coming from. Is there a hole in the wall? Who knows. But I decided to put on my purple Ultra Lite Heat Holders socks, and now my feet feel so nice and warm and cozy.

Heat Holders socks come in different colors and patterns as well as in two lengths: long and crew (mid-calf) length. I just noticed that there are knee-high Lite socks in three colorways with hearts all over them that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!

The majority of the Heat Holders socks are fabricated from a mix of acrylic, polyester and elastane. But there is also an option that contains Merino wool along with acrylic, nylon, polyester, and elastane for additional warmth. The Merino wool socks have a TOG of 2.9 for beyond maximum warmth.

The socks are machine washable using cold water. I let mine air dry.

Heat Holders makes more than just socks. They also have hats, gloves, blankets, slipper socks, loungewear, and base layer tops and bottoms. For winter or activities that can be chilly year round, Heat Holders have got your covered. Check out their website for additional details and to purchase. Heat Holders has discounts ranging from 10%-20% off depending on how many items you purchase. They also work with a number of partners to distribute their products to those in need.

Thankful I don’t have to shovel snow/ice. Last thur I had to go pick up prescriptions it took me almost 45 minutes to get the snow and ice off my car. I am not a fan of sock to keep my feet warm. Heck year around I sleep with my feet uncovered. BUT I have a Heat Holders blanket and it is WONDERFUL. You have mentioned about losing your power well this blanket would be a great investment. Its light but it keeps you so warm.

    1. Gloria, that’s a great idea! I’m going to check out the Heat Holders blanket based on your recommendation. You’re right – I do have frequent power outages, and it sounds like having a Heat Holders blanket on hand would be a big help! Sorry to hear that your car was encased in snow and ice. Ugh. We got that storm as well, and though our snow was lightweight. I went out and shoveled and got off as much as I could. It’s been below freezing for the past week, but the sun is getting stronger and it melted some of the packed snow and then it froze to become solid ice. I was out there trying to chip away at it. I can hardly wait till spring!

  5. I just was reading an article about falling asleep and the first thing it said was to wear socks that keep your feet warm. My everyday socks don’t cut it when I’m having insomnia but these definitely would.
