Weekly Roundups

Early March ’21 Beauty Spotlight Team Weekly Roundup

Today, I went for a hike in the woods at the end of Crooked Lane with my friend Sue. Lately, I’ve been jogging instead. The last time I was in the woods about 10 days ago, I was on snowshoes. Temperatures above freezing and some rain last week melted quite a bit of the snow, and then the temperature plunged again, and the woods were filled with ice as well as running water.

Here are a couple of pix from the trails taken earlier in the season before the snow and ice:

Sue is always so generous. She knows that I am afraid of falling on the ice, so she let me wear her heavy-duty microspikes and she gave me a pair of hiking poles to use. OMG, the Kahtoola MicroSpikes were absolutely incredible. There was no slipping whatsoever with those spikes on my boots. At first, I was nervous about climbing boulders wearing the spikes, but I didn’t need to worry: the spikes did not slip at all, somehow they gripped the rock. I had a fantastic hike. I even sought out ice to walk on. Even though winter is almost over, I just ordered a pair of those pricey microspikes. Boy, are they worth it! I’ll have them for next year and hopefully for years after that. If you live in the frozen north, definitely consider Kahtoola MicroSpikes. You’ll never slip while wearing them!

This week, we have a mini Beauty Spotlight Team weekly roundup. I’m hoping our newest member hasn’t changed her mind about participating. And I hope our second to newest member is just busy this week. Blogging isn’t what it once was. A lot of the beauty bloggers have either given it up or post much less frequently. I am hoping that maybe there will be a resurgence one of these days.
