FACTORFIVE Anti-aging Skincare Based on Human Growth Factors

Several months ago, I received travel size versions of three fabulous skincare products from the R&D focused anti-aging brand, FACTORFIVE:

I began using them for a couple of weeks, and then I put them away when the woman who helps me clean my house was coming. I make sure to clean off all the surfaces so we can clean them. And with all the products I test, you can only imagine how crowded my bathroom vanity is. Usually, I remember where I put things before cleaning the house, but this time I didn’t. Sadly, my FACTORFIVE skincare products were missing for a couple of months. But after searching a few weeks ago, I finally found them. Yay! I was able to get back to my FACTORFIVE regimen.

What makes FACTORFIVE skincare different is their focus on human growth factor signals derived from adult stem cells.

FACTORFIVE’s stem cells come from adipose tissue or fat cells leftover from liposuction. Since the company is located not too far from Los Angeles, it seems that they have plenty of adipose tissue at their disposal!

As we age, the communication between our cells slows down and the production of growth factors and proteins slow down as a result. Harnessing the signals between stem cells and using them in their skincare products makes older skin behave more like young skin. As a result, FACTORFIVE skincare products promote cell renewal, boost the production of collagen and elastin, and restore aging cells to create more youthful looking skin.

The “conditioned media” that contains the stem cells, their signals and human growth factor is the first or second ingredient in FACTORFIVE’s products. To be honest, FACTORFIVE skincare is a luxury brand. Because of the focus on human stem cells, making FACTORFIVE skincare is a pricey proposition. The three core products are available in mini travel size pumps as well as full size pump bottles.

FACTORFIVE Eye/Lash Cream

A 3-in-1 product, Eye/Lash Cream can be used for the delicate skin around the eyes as well as to lengthen and add volume to eyelashes and brows. Key ingredients are human growth factors, and redensyl and biotin to enhance lashes and brows.

Because I already have products for my lashes and brows, I used Eye only on the skin above my crease, on my dry lids, and underneath my eyes. It is a lightweight but very hydrating gel-cream. It was also very soothing. I sometimes have issues with eye products on my inflamed lids and crease, but FACTORFIVE Eye felt divine on my parched skin.

Ingredients: WATER (AQUA), HUMAN STEM CELL CONDITIONED MEDIA, GLYCERIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, SQUALANE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED WAX, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, SODIUM POLYACRYLATE, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, LARIX EUROPAEA WOOD EXTRACT, COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL, GLYCINE, ZINC CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ALLANTOIN, PANTHENOL, CAFFEINE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, TOCOPHEROL, BIOTIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM METABISULFITE, DISODIUM EDTA

FACTORFIVE Regenerative Serum

The Regenerative Serum combines human growth factor with copper peptides to address the entire host of signs of aging: lines and wrinkles, dark spots, thin skin, texture, and dryness. It’s a lightweight liqui-gel that feels like an instant drink for my skin. Yum!

Ingredients: HUMAN STEM CELL CONDITIONED MEDIA, WATER (AQUA), ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, GLYCERIN, NIACINAMIDE, SODIUM, ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE, PEG-8/SMDI COPOLYMER, BIS (TRIPEPTIDE-1) COPPER ACETATE, ACETYL OCTAPEPTIDE-3, ACMELLA OLERACEA EXTRACT, LECITHIN, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, XANTHAN GUM, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-37, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM, HYALURONATE, DISODIUM EDTA, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, POLYSORBATE 20, FRAGRANCE, PHENOXYETHANOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN

FACTORFIVE Anti-aging Cream

The Anti-aging Cream combines human growth factor with hydrating ingredients to also address the signs of aging plus redness. It’s a non-irritating formula. A fluffy, white cream, like the other two products in the line, it feels so delightful on my skin.

Ingredients: WATER (AQUA), HUMAN STEM CELL CONDITIONED MEDIA, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, C14-22 ALCOHOLS, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, GLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE, NIACINAMIDE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, C12-20 ALKYL GLUCOSIDE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PPG-12/SMDI COPOLYMER, BIS (TRIPEPTIDE-1) COPPER ACETATE, POLYACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER-6, POLYACRYLAMIDE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-37, ACMELLA OLERACEA EXTRACT, ACETYL OCTAPEPTIDE-3, PEG-100 STEARATE, C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN, LAURETH-7, PHENOXYETHANOL, ETHYLHEXYGLYCERIN, FRAGRANCE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE

FACTORFIVE’s products do not contain parabens, mineral oil, sulfate detergents, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA. And they are cruelty-free and fragrance-free.

FACTORFIVE says that visible results occur in 4 weeks. Because I misplaced my products, I used them in two time periods of a couple of weeks at a time with about two months in between. Silly me. At this point, I used up the Eye and Anti-aging Cream, but I still have some Serum that I am continuing to use. The minis lasted me about a month because I found that a little went a long way. I also have a full size bottle of Regenerative Serum waiting in the wings.

As I mentioned above, what makes FACTORFIVE different and also more expensive than mainstream skincare is the conditioned media containing the human growth factor/stem cells that are either the first or second ingredient in the formula. The 5 piece Mini Gift Set that also includes a cosmetic bag and spa headband at $125 is the most cost effective way to try the entire brand. I will report back again after using the Regenerative Serum for a month.

So far, I am very impressed with FACTORFIVE! I suggest that you check out FACTORFIVE’s videos above as well as their Blog to learn more about the science behind this brand. And if it fits in your budget, I definitely recommend trying the Mini Gift Set to see for yourself.

This sounds like a brand that’s worth what it costs, which isn’t always the case. I shall have to try it sometime!

    1. I’m psyched to use the full size serum and see if the benefits are different from other brands. Wish I hadn’t screwed up trying the trio of products, silly me!

  3. I’m currently using the EYE all over my eye and skipping my brow and lash serums to see if it makes a difference. I’m only about a week into it so no difference yet but I like that it doesn’t have fragrance and doesn’t sting. I rarely put anything on my lid so this is a nice change. I am interested in knowing more about the serum too.

    1. I’ll be eager to hear what you think about FACTORFIVE Eye. I wish I hadn’t misplaced the products right in the middle of testing them. Even though I didn’t use Eye on my lashes or brows because I had the travel size and wanted to maximize using it on my skin, I will be interested in hearing if it worked for you all over. I loved the formulation and feel of Eye, so soothing.

  4. As soon as you said luxury, I was worried about the cost. I always get nervous about how these products will work for me as I’m not seeing a lot of aging signs yet but $125 for three high end brands really isn’t terrible. I’m going to add it to my Pinterest board!
