Nimble: Paints Your Nails For You!

Today, I want to tell you about a new beauty tool that I haven’t tried. Nevertheless, I am really intrigued by it, and I thought you might be, too.

A few days ago, I got a press release about a Kickstarter for a new product called Nimble. Nimble is a device that paints for nails for you!

You put your hand inside the device that looks like a nail drier, on a comfortable ergonomic hand rest.

The device contains base coat, 13-free cruelty-free polish and top coat that I assume you buy separately. Artificial intelligence and machine vision use algorithms to scan each nail with micro cameras to “see” the dimensions of the nails. Next, a tiny robotic arm perfectly paints the nails with base coat, two layers of polish, and topcoat. An airflow system dries each coat. The entire process takes under 10 minutes. I think it sounds like a miracle.

I went to the Nimble Beauty website for more information, and I encourage to go to the website if you are curious (my ancient MAC Air won’t let me add any more photos or the video that shows how it works). Their Kickstarter features “Super Early Bird” pricing. The regular price on the Nimble when is launches is supposed to be $399, but now it’s available for $229. And the set of 3 polishes are $6 instead of the regular $10. Hmmm, now I wish I didn’t spend so much at the Sephora sale!

Although the downside is that you can’t use your own polishes (at least not now) and they don’t seem to have multichromes and glitters, but for me, it just might be worth it. I never apply my nail polish perfectly, and I am usually too lazy to use a brush dipped in polish remover to clean up my mistakes. And my own manis don’t usually last all that long because I don’t wait long enough between coats. I am kind of thinking about it!

What do you think? Does the Nimble device appeal to you?

  1. Having someone else do the messy work sounds good to me, haha! I personally prefer to do dip nails so that they last. Regular nail polish chips on me too soon all the time.

  2. I get my nails done but if I didn’t this would be ideal. Being left handed doesn’t help when it comes to polishing my nails and I want great looking nails. This is so cool.

    Allison,
What an interesting device. Too costly for me though.

    1. I think the value would be there for someone who goes to a nail salon regularly. I am vaguely considering it, but right now I have so many things that need fixing on and in my house.

Each passing year or is looking like Nimble is just vaporware. No device has been made for consumer use and kickstarter backers are not happy. Delay after delay. Now they say they won’t ship international after claiming they would now the device will be ready sometime in 2023 instead of October 2021.

    1. Oh, I forgot all about Nimble! It was a random article I came across online, and thought it was an incredible idea. Too bad things haven’t worked out according to their original timetable. But with covid and supply chain issues, I’m sure they’re not the only ones having trouble meeting their original timetable for launch.
