Korres Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream

A sample packet of Korres Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream (mentioned here) that came with my Sephora order convinced me that this will be my go-to moisturizer of the summer (when I’m not testing out another product).

I love gel-creams. I love their light but hydrating texture. So when I tried the sample of Korres Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream, I was probably already sold on it. But the Mother’s Day sale helped seal the deal.

Background

Korres is a Greek company, and their products are manufactured in Greece. There’s even Greek on one side of the packaging.

Their products are natural, made from the plants that grow in the Greek landscape. This is how they describe their approach:

With the richest and most biodiverse landscape in all of Europe, Greece is home to 6,000+ plant species – 1,600 of which only grow here. We work closely with Greek organic farmers to grow the highest-quality ingredients and then harvest them based on when they are at peak potency. Our plant hunters study the power of nature and use its treasures to make skin stronger, healthier, and more radiant.

When I visited the Greek island Mykonos a couple of decades ago, I was amazed at the landscape. There were no trees, but a fascinating countryside of rock, hills, and lots of low lying plants. Plus the sea was the most gorgeous shade of turquoise. Breathtaking.

Korres was making “clean beauty” products before it was a thing:

We’ve been making clean formulas for decades—not because it was trendy, but because we’ve always believed it was our responsibility to do so. From our growing “no” list of 2,000+ ingredients to the very water we use, no detail is too small when it comes to creating safe and nourishing skincare for ourselves, our families, and you.

And not surprisingly, they use natural actives in their formulations rather than synthetics. Yet, their products are developed and tested by scientists for safety and efficacy.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream

Every week, Jeff brings me handmade Greek yogurt from Sophia’s, a Greek specialty store in Belmont MA. I get a container of 2% fat Plain yogurt that I use primarily in cooking, and a container of honey-sweetened fruit-flavored yogurt for eating. It’s truly the best I’ve ever tasted. So I am a big fan of Greek yogurt.

I was predisposed to love Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream.

The ultimate Mediterranean superfood probiotic gel-cream with pre and probiotic rich Greek yoghurt plus time released hydration to keep your skin dewy and hydrated all day.

Probiotic skincare products contain live cultures of good bacteria. Prebiotics, also found in Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream stimulate the growth of the helpful bacteria that already live on skin. They both work to rebalance the bacteria on skin that can get out of whack with dryness, acne and other skin conditions.

Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream is recommended, for all skin types including dehydrated and/or sensitive skin. My skin isn’t dehydrated, but it is dry, and this time-released moisturizer is perfect for me.

A translucent gel-cream, it feels cooling and lightweight on my skin. It has a faint floral scent that fades on contact. It dries quickly to a matte finish. It contains passion flower that is supposed to give bouncy skin, and I actually experience that feeling from this gel-cream.

In addition to the other good things I’ve mentioned, Korres Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream is:

  • Dermatologically tested

  • Vegetarian

  • Non-comedogenic

  • Silicone free

  • Cruelty free

  • And has recyclable packaging.

The container holds 1.35 fl. oz./40 ml and is priced at $36. It’s sold on the Korres website where there’s free shipping and at Sephora.

    1. The Korres Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream is a facial moisturizer, but I’ll bet they have some terrific body moisturizers as well. I hope that as of tomorrow you’ll be using body butter on your arm (fingers crossed!)
