BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream for Dry Skin

In my March Ipsy bag, I received a full size bottle of BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream. Because March was such a busy month for me, I forgot all about the moisturizer. I forgot that I got it from Ipsy. But a couple of weeks ago, I saw it in my stash, was intrigued by the look of the bottle, and I noticed it was a rich cream for dry skin. I started using it.

BYOMA is a relatively new brand. It’s sold at Ulta and Target, and Ipsy is promoting it. It’s actually a pretty wonderful brand. The founder, Marc Elrick, started to develop the BYOMA in 2020. Here are his comments:

“I started developing BYOMA back in 2020. During the initial COVID lockdown, people were playing chemist in their bathrooms, experimenting with super-strength actives – with less than desirable results. I chose to immerse myself in the skin science, and through extensive research, realized better skin stems from a boosted skin barrier. That’s how BYOMA was born.”

The brand:

  • doesn’t strip skin
  • builds the skin’s barrier
  • is formulated with active ingredients including ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids in the recommended 3-1-1 ratio for optimal barrier repair
  • with regard to packaging, stands for reuse, refill and recycle and is made from 100% monomaterial plastic
  • is very affordable!
  • is a Conscious Beauty brand/clean beauty
  • plants trees to offset the company’s emissions
  • is sold in the U.S. and the U.K.

BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream

I’m the perfect target market for BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream. It’s recommended for people with dry or very dry skin or for use during the cold winter months because it is deeply hydrating. With the Tri-Ceramide Complex mentioned above, it improves and strengthens the skin’s barrier.

The moisturizer is also enriched with restorative and soothing bakuchiol, an alternative to retinol that is effective but not irritating like retinol can be. Bakuchiol improves skin’s tone and texture, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and plumps skin. The rich white cream also contains shea butter that will keep skin hydrated for up to 24 hours.

The hydrating cream is:

  • dermatologist tested and approved
  • non-comedogenic
  • fragrance-free
  • alcohol-free
  • vegan and cruelty-free
  • comes in a pale lavender color (it looks gray in my photos!), recyclable pump bottle.

BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream is sold on the BYOMA website, Ulta, and Target. It’s priced at $14.99 or $15.99 (a dollar more at Ulta) for 1.69 fl. oz./50 ml. Target also sells a refill for the product for $13.99.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydroxyacetophenone, Ceramide NP, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Caprylyl Glycol, Bakuchiol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Oleic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Lactic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sorbitan Isostearate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Tocopherol

My Experience with Moisturizing Rich Cream

After using BYOMA Moisturizing Rich Cream for a few weeks, I’m very impressed with the product and the brand. I use Moisturizing Rich Cream at night, and it’s just the right consistency: rich and soothing. It sinks right into my skin, and it’s not at all greasy. I love that it’s fragrance-free.

The $14.99-$15.99 price tag is just amazing. Plus I’m glad I can just wash out the plastic bottle when I’ve used it up and then recycle it along with my other recyclables.

In the future, I would like to try some of the other BYOMA skincare products because I am so pleased with the Rich Cream. If you have dry skin and are looking for a new nighttime moisturizer, I recommend you try this one. And if your skin is not dry, BYOMA makes a lightweight gel-cream.

You had me at Fragrance-Free. I have a coupon for Target so I’m hoping the Target nearest me carries this.
