Back in February, I alerted my readers to the fabulous lengthening mascara Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara introducing three new colors for spring and summer (here):
- Margo: Purple
- Donna: Green
- ShantaQuillette: Pink
At the time, I hadn’t tried any of their colorful shades, but Thrive was generous to send me the purple shade, Margo, to try out after I wrote my post. It got mailed out to me while Jeff and I were in LA in February, and though I asked FEDEX to send it to my local Walgreens to wait till I returned, it managed to go missing. I finally got my hands on it before we went to North Carolina, Virginia and Washington DC in March, but I put it someplace for “safekeeping” and then forgot where I put it. Well, I found it again just in time for fun summer wear.
Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions is such a wonderful mascara. Everything about it is great:
- the wand with plastic teeth that are good for separating lashes
- the lengthening formula
- it doesn’t clump, flake or smudge
- the only tubing mascara formula that I can stand.
I mention the “tubing” formula because it is a real winner when it comes to lengthening lashes! But typically, I hate removing tubing mascara. It can sometimes be difficult to remove with Micellar Water, and the little tubes gross me out! Not so with Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions. My BioDerma Micellar Water has no trouble melting the mascara away, and the tubes breakdown so I don’t have to look at them. (Yes, I know I’m weird.)
Margo, the purple shade, is different from other colored mascaras I’ve used over the years. Although it is definitely purple, the color shows up on my lashes, and it looks like I am wearing mascara which is what I want.
To be honest, it looks the best when I take the time to apply purple eyeshadow as well as purple eyeliner. But today I was lazy and put it on without any other makeup, though I did put on some purple gel liner from my favorite, Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner.
Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara is cruelty-free, vegan, and Thrive gives back to women in their local community. The colored versions of the mascara are still limited editions, I believe, so if you want some summer fun before they’re gone, act now. Fun colors. They should make them permanent since no other great brand has these colors.
