At this point, I’ve been working on regrowing my hair at my front hairline for a little more than two years. My hair loss is age/menopause-related, and I thought there was nothing I could do about it. Reversing the hair loss certainly isn’t quick, but my hair has been regrowing after taking steps.
I started out my journey using Vegamour products, and up until recently I was still using them. Like Minoxidil, once you start using it, you must continue forever. I started out using Vegamour GRO+ Shampoo and GRO+ Conditioner as well as GRO+ Serum. Honestly, I stopped using the Vegamour GRO+ Shampoo and Conditioner because there were better options for maintaining my red color. In addition to using Vegamour GRO+ Serum just about every night, I started using DefenAge 150K Follicle Growth Serum along with it almost every night.
Initially, I would say it took about 6 months for me to notice some regrowth. I’ve stuck with it, and now I’ve been trying to regrow my hair for about two years. The hair on my right hairline has regrown more successfully than on the left side, but the left side is showing some growth and it’s better than it was when I started. In addition to using Vegamour GRO+ Serum just about every night, I started using DefenAge 150K Follicle Growth Serum along with it almost every night.

My Hair Regrowth Journey Continues
Recently, I was sent the three key KeraFactor regrowth products to try out, the KeraFactor Combo System, consisting of:
- KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Shampoo & Conditioner
- KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Solution
- KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Wet & Dry Brush
Because I’ve had such good luck with IGK More Life Color-Extending Shampoo & Conditioner and IGK Expensive High Shine Gloss Treatment to help protect and maintain my red hair color, I’ve been reluctant to use KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Shampoo & Conditioner in spite of the fact that it’s color safe. But I discovered when I read the instructions that I could use it along with my regular shampoo and conditioner. I tried it today, and I used my shampoo and conditioner and then massaged it into my scalp and rinsed. You’re only supposed to use a “pea-sized amount”, and no way would that amount be enough to wash and condition my hair. So applying it to the areas where I want to grow hair made sense to me.
In an article on Yahoo Life! by Korin Miller and April McCormack in July 2024 on “The Best Hair Growth Products of 2024 according to Dermatologists”, KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Shampoo & Conditioner was chosen as “the best shampoo/conditioning for regrowing hair”, and the authors’ in-house tester raved about its effectiveness at making her hair look and feel thicker after just two weeks. I will continue to use it until I run out and see how it affects my hair growth. In terms of softness and manageability, it didn’t seem to make a difference.
I’ve also just started using the Scalp Stimulating Wet & Dry Brush. It’s well-designed and fits in my hand perfectly. The rubber teeth are varied heights and they’re soft. It feels good to use it on my scalp. Because my hair on the back of my head is so thick, I just use it at the front and top of my head where I really need to increase my circulation as well as stimulate my hair dormant follicles to regrow hair.
Importantly, I started using KeraFactor Scalp Stimulating Solution about 2 weeks ago on the two spots where my hair was receding in the front (where I had been using Vegamour GRO+ Serum and DefenAge 150K Follicle Growth Serum).
Since it is too soon to tell how the KeraFactor is working, I will show you the information from the KeraFactor website instead:

Have you ever tried or considered micro needling for hair growth? I’ve been micro needling my face and neck with excellent results (fortunately, my hair loss hasn’t been problematic so far). I’ve been buying the rollers from Gin Amber Beauty (gin amber.com) and using them with the Natural Foam Therapy for sterilization. Her products are high quality and well-priced IMHO.
No, I haven’t. But I have a roller or two somewhere. Maybe I will try it in addition. I will also check out Natural Foam Therapy to sterilize. Sounds like a good idea
I have a lot of hair loss especially after washing my hair. I wonder if this would work to help that.
I would probably try a shampoo to stop hair loss during washing. Less $ and easier, I think.
