There are so many gorgeous nail polishes these days, it’s hard to keep a favorite for long. But right now, mine is Danni from Zoya. I picked it up during their 3 for $12 special back in January, but I just got around to trying it a few days ago.
I was expecting a lot of sparkle, but instead Danni provides a lovely shimmer. Frankly, for me, the shimmer is much more wearable and so much easier to apply and remove.
This shade of purple – a medium, Easter egg purple – is gorgeous, not too dark, not too light. The shade is so versatile, it can almost be considered a neutral.
The polish itself is on the thinner side. I applied two fast drying coats, and it was dry in a flash. I applied it over my usual Revlon base coat. Because I was in a rush, instead of using a topcoat and Orly Sec ‘n Dry, I just applied the Sec ‘n Dry. Mistake. Because I haven’t been wearing my gloves to wash dishes since I put on this polish, I am seeing a little tip wear after 3 days. Using a separate topcoat in addition to the Sec ‘n Dry really is a must for me.
Zoya is one of my favorite polish brands. It’s cruelty-free and 5-free: no phthalates, toluene, camphor, formaldehyde or formaldehyde resin. It’s widely available on zoya.com, at Ulta and ultra.com, amazon.com, and at select salons. The bottle size is 0.5 fl. oz/15 ml. Although I paid $4 for this polish, it is typically priced around $9. Made in the US.
What’s your favorite Zoya shade…this week, lol??
The Midnight Velvet $50 Gift Certificate giveaway ends tonight night at midnight (as the date becomes 3/18), so it’s not too late to enter now!
What a great purple!
It really is, Sybille! I know you’re a purple fan, too 🙂
My Zoya of the week is Brigitte. Again. lol
Last week was a Butter London shade though. I’m pretty demanding when it comes to my polish selections. If it can’t last most of a week, it finds a new home. 🙂
Truth be told,Brigitte is still one of my all-time faves, Rach. I think Danni would’ve made it a week if I had done my regular routine. I don’t really consider Sec ‘n Dry a topcoat, and I just didn’t both wearing gloves like I usually do when I wash dishes or clean. I still love this shade, and I’m thinking of trying a Brigitte/Danni French-style mani one of these days when I have time 🙂
This is just my kind of shade! So beautiful!

I agree, Eugenia. Purples are the best!
My fav Zoya polish is Mikka. This polish is a deep eggplant with just a touch of shimmer.
I’d buy Zoya polish over Essie any day ;-P
Monica
Mikka sounds beautiful, Monica. I will check it out. I was wrong about Zoya, it’s 5-free. I think it’s a great polish brand, my favorite too.
Holy wow, 3 for $12 is a GREAT deal for Zoya polishes! This was a beautiful shade for you to pick up. I’m a huge fan of shimmer, too – it’s soooo much easier to remove than glitter polishes! Though I still use glitter all the time too 😉

It was an awesome deal, Bailey! Sorry you missed out on it. Now, they’re offering free shipping on the new Monet shades, and I am sorely tempted 😉 Thanks for your comment <3
I’m wearing a Zoya purple this week as well – Audrina! Love Zoya polishes, they are such solid performers.
