Sensi Spa Sandals

Years ago, during a business trip to Las Vegas, I had a couple of days to myself before the project started. So I decided to go to the Canyon Ranch Spa for a facial. I noticed some interesting looking ice blue spa sandals, and I bought a pair. They were designed by a Swiss podiatrist, and they had “bubbles” on the bottom that provided a sort of massage to the feet, or they were reflexology influenced, or both. They were contoured to fit the toes, arch and heel. Whatever it was, they were very comfortable to wear. They were made of heavy duty plastic, and they lasted for 10 years. Nothing these days lasts for 10 years, but these did!

I had to get another pair!

I found the Sensi website, and I wanted pink ones this time. Unfortunately, they were out of my size. I contacted the company to find out when they would be back in stock. This was at the end of last August. I was told they’d be back in stock in December. December came and went. Jeff offered to buy them for me as part of my birthday gift in April. They were still not available, but he placed the order. I received them a couple of weeks ago (June!). Wow, that took a long time. But they are worth waiting for. I was so happy to have them back!

Sensi sandals are made in Assisi Italy, and they’re hand assembled. They’ve been around since 1962 and they’re a family-owned business. They sell a number of different styles – thongs or slides, they come in a variety of colors, with or without the massaging bubbles on the bottom. They’re skid resistant because they’re designed with a “drainage system” to be worn at a swimming pool, or locker room, beach, or just around your own home. They’re antibacterial and anti fungal, too. You can machine wash them if you want to.

I love my new pink (Pink Punch) Sensi Regatta Ice spa sandals! They are sold on the Sensi website for about $40 but other colors are priced at $35 (go figure!), and most sizes, styles and colors appear to be in stock now. I also found some random Sensi styles, sizes and colors on Amazon. Sensi sandals are for both women and men. If you decide to buy a pair, buy a larger size than you typically wear. My regular shoe size is 6.5, so I bought a 7. They only come in whole sizes.

    1. I wish I lived somewhere where I could do that year round, Destany. I hate shoes

  2. Those look super comfortable – I had never heard of Sensi before. I’m not sure if I’d wear them enough to justify the purchase, though. I tend to go barefoot rather than wear house shoes. Love the pink!

    1. I find them to be very comfy. I was happy that Canyon Ranch turned me on to them, and that my first pair lasted so long. Hopefully these will to. Worth a look on the website 😉

  5. I need these!! I love shoes with benefits. I wear Fit Flops most of the time (yes, even in the Winter) because I love on-and-go shoes. 🙂

    1. I wear them all year round in the house. I have flip flops too that I usually just wear to the beach, but I love the bubble bottoms on these that give me a reflexology session almost 😉

  6. Ooohhhhh…. they look so comfy! Great color, too!

I just got home from O.S.U. and decided to check my e-mails. Shame on you!!! 😉 Your review got me on Amazon. I bought a pair. The Ice Cola color was $24.95!!! My feet always ache. I like the idea of getting a massage like feeling just from walking around in them. Thanks for the review Allison. I would have never known about these otherwise!!

    1. Oh, Laura, I am not trying to make you spend your money!! I really do love mine, and I was happy that Jeff got them for my birthday. I hope they will make your feet happy. I hope your appointments went well. I am just on my way out for the evening, but let me know what happened. Did you like the staff???

      1. Laura says:

Believe me no one has to twist my arm to make me spend money I do not have. ha ha Seriously though my feet hurt every day. Sometimes they hurt so bad I would swear that they are bleeding or crumbling beneath me.
The staff and doctor are unbelievable. So nice and helpful. They have a self serve area for coffee, hot chocolate, tea plus bottles of water and cans of Sprite. Near lunchtime they even offer snacks. I have never been to a doctor’s office that does that. Maybe coffee and hot chocolate if anything.
They also have electronic signs like at the airport to let you know if the doctor is running on time and if not how long the wait will be.
I was rather disappointed when Dr. Phay told me this would not be the life changing surgery that I was expecting. He told that I may not even notice that I am a little less tired, achy and confused because I have other health issues that need addressed.
My surgery is August 19th. It usually takes an average of 2-3 hours. I will spend the first night in the hospital. I hope to go home the day after that if I am doing well. At least I have one surgery planned for now.
I hope you enjoy your evening out. The weather here is hot, humid and rainy. Blah! Maybe it is better where you live?

        1. Thank you, Laura, for letting me know how you made out. I’m sorry that it isn’t a miracle surgery, but I hope it will have some noticeable results to make it worthwhile. I’m glad the doctor is honest and very nice, and the electronic sign part was amazing! Perhaps after this surgery is behind you and you recuperate, you’ll have the strength to tackle the next issue. My night out was a concert at a very beautiful concert hall that over looks the ocean. I love classical music and I went to hear a young “rising star” musician – a young woman certainly younger than 25 cellist who played chamber music with a woman pianist. It was lovely, though I had some family problems on my mind throughout the concert. But I was happy to be there anyway! Today, the weather was sunny but humid and there was a 3 minute rain shower. Tomorrow the hot weather that you’re having is supposed to come here perhaps with the rain too, ugh. At the beach, we seem to talk about nothing but the 100+ inches of snow we had last winter, and we’re grateful for even the uncomfortable heat 😉

          1. Laura says:

Sounds like a wonderful evening. I am glad that you were able to relax your mind so to speak from family troubles. Music can certainly do that. I really enjoy classical music also especially piano based. I discovered George Winston in my mid twenties and bought a few of his CDs then. I listen to quite a few others on Pandora. That has been a great way for me to discover new artists.
My flip flops will be delivered tomorrow and I cannot wait to slip my feet into them. I did not get the prettiest color but I got them. lol

          2. The price was right, Laura! And they remind me of Coca-Cola or root beer. With jeans or khakis or even a bathrobe, they’ll be fine. I just hope they fit you and feel good 🙂

    1. A number of gals have mentioned that, Tiki! Do you mean jelly sandals? I am older so I never wore those myself, but I babysat for kids who did. I can see why you’d say that, but these are designed by a podiatrist, have reflexology bottoms, they’re hand-assembled at a family-owned business in Assissi Italy, and they’re sorta pricey, lol. I love ’em!

      1. That’s exactly what I was talking about but they look like the grown up comfy version. I would love the try then and coming back from a run. I’m sure my feet would be super happy to get out of the flip flops.

        1. I own flip flops too, and they’re great for the beach. The Sensi sandals are much more supportive, relaxing, fit better etc. I really like them, but then I’ve owned them for more than 10 years!

          1. You know I’ve already checked the site. LOL I can’t tell you how bad my feet hurt after I run. I need these in my life.

          2. No way!! A friend just commented that she scored a pair on Amazon for $24.95 in the coca-cola shade so if you’re interested and don’t need a specific shade, it looks like you can get a deal. Plus the site had certain colors on sale, too. Just be sure to order a size larger than normal.:)

  10. My podiatrist won’t let me go barefoot and I agree with him. I need something that will be sturdy enough since I pronate when I walk. These look cute and comfortable. Does Jeff want my address?

  12. They remind me of jelly shoes that I wore as a kid
Phyrra recently posted…Teal Eyeshadow Tutorial for Hooded EyesMy Profile

    1. Yes, that’s what a number of the girls are saying. I missed out on wearing jellies. These are sturdier than the jellies that kids I used to babysit for wore! Also designed by a podiatrist, hand-assembled in Italy and a lot more expensive, lol!

  13. Sensi? As in the company that makes hair accessories? I saw your photo of these on Twitter and I said ‘Pink’! I’m not a sandals type of girl but, I really like these.
Kimberly recently posted…Mask Monday: Tony Moly Pomegranate Mask SheetMy Profile

    1. No, this is a small family-owned business based in Assissi Italy that only makes these sandals and, I think, a unique gym bag made out of unusual material. 😉 You’re thinking of scunci that’s sort at Walmart. 😀

  14. Wow, these look so comfy!!

    1. They are! I’m wearing them now 🙂

  15. My feet would like a pair of those! They look so comfy. I wonder if they would work for my wide dogs?

    1. That I don’t know, Erika. I have average width feet. I’m sure the thong version would be fine. You might want to call Sensi. Both Jeff and I spoke to the marketing director or president or whatever he is, and he was very nice and helpful. So if you are considering Sensi sandals, definitely email or call and get the answer to your question! I love mine, and I’m wearing them right now 🙂

  16. These look so comfortable, I can see how after a day on your feet how comforting they would be.

    1. I have a pair of high heel sandal Crocs, Nidia, that I’ve gotta find in my closet! thanks for reminding me. The Sensi sandals are very relaxing and comfortable for me because of the bubbles on the bottom. The slides are an average width and you must be a size or half size larger than you usually wear because they could run a little small. The thongs might be a better bet for some women. I emailed and called the company when I had questions/issues and they were very nice and helpful 🙂

  20. These look so comfy! I’ll definitely have to look into getting a pair 🙂

    1. They’re worth a look, Albertine, especially if you’re on your feet a lot 🙂
