A New Robe During the Soma Semi-Annual Sale

In spite of inflationary prices, there seem to be sales all the time. Soma, the lingerie and apparel retailer, has relatively frequent sales. These past several days, there have been sales on certain items up to 70% off.

My New Lightweight Robe from Soma

For the past few years, I have needed a new lightweight robe. As much as I love the coral and white floral lightweight robe that I’ve had for more than 20 years, it looks a little greyish now, and I’ve been on the look out for a new one for quite a while.

During Soma’s recent sale, one robe in particular caught my eye: Satin Jacquard Robe. First, the fabric was polka dot, and I can’t resist that pattern. Plus, it goes with my facial cleansing headband.

Second, the rust color is perfect for me (even though they call it Pink Nouveau and in the photo on the website it looks salmon colored).

The style looked promising. It has attractive bell sleeves. And the pockets are so welcome. I often carry my phone and reading glasses around with me, so having pockets to store them in is so helpful.

The fabric is a medium weight polyester jacquard. It feels substantial and looks well-made.

The robe is 36″ from shoulders to the bottom. On me, it’s slightly below my knees, but I’m short.

The best part is that all three sizes, S/M, L/XL, and XXL, are in stock. And even better, Satin Jacquard Robe is on sale for $29.99, marked down from $98.

Soma Cool Nights Sleepshirts

This past winter, I bought three Soma Cool Nights Sleepshirts: 2 black 3/4 sleeve Sleepshirts (reviewed here), and one long sleeve Sleepshirt in animal print (reviewed here). I love them because the ultra-soft fabric and style are so comfortable!

As the temperatures begin to warm up in the northeast, long and even 3/4 sleeves are becoming warm on some nights. I decided to buy a Cool Nights Sleepshirt with short sleeves in the shade, Nightfall Navy, a very dark navy blue. I haven’t tried it on yet, but it is the same fabric and same size (M) as my three longer sleeved versions, so I think it should be fine.

Shoprunner 2 Day Delivery

When I was a Platinum American Express cardholder, I qualified for free Shoprunner membership. And even though I downgraded to Gold at AMEX when I closed my business, I am still a Shoprunner member.

The benefit of Shoprunner is the free 2 day delivery. Sometimes, there is a minimum spend ($50 on Soma.com), but other times there isn’t. It’s been a boon to me, and I am happy that it is available at Soma since you have to spend around $90, I think, to get free standard shipping (4-10 days by USPS) if you’re not a Shoprunner member.

  1. Cute robe and a fabulous buy. I don’t have a robe which was a problem when I was in the hospital a few years ago. I should invest in one.

    1. Jeff doesn’t own a robe either. I tried to buy one for him years ago, but he didn’t want it. Nevertheless, owning a robe is handing in certain situations as you found out 😉

  2. I love cool fabrics, too. Even in the winter! Love the polka dot design! Cute choice!

    1. Thank you, Michelle! I’m a big fan of polka dots 😀
