Adding Glycolic Acid to My Nightly Routine w PRAI Beauty

Glycolic acid is one of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids. It’s a naturally occurring substance, and it starts out as a powder made from colorless, odorless crystals. Glycolic acid delivers lots of benefits for skin from moisturizing to rejuvenating skin by helping to fade fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a fantastic exfoliator, and it’s known for removing dead skin cells to reveal bright, clear skin. It’s also a humectant, transferring water molecules from the air to the skin (I have to remember this next time in the desert!). Glycolic acid boosts collagen production to plump skin, making it an ideal anti-aging ingredient.

Since glycolic acid is such a brilliant multitasking skincare ingredient, it really is a must-have in your skincare routine.

I’ve been using a glycolic acid skincare duo from PRAI Beauty, an affordable and fabulous skincare brand that I discovered in 2019:

  • PRAI Glycolic Serum Fast Renewal
  • PRAI Glycolic Creme Fast Renewal.

PRAI Glycolic Serum Fast Renewal

PRAI Glycolic Serum is a rejuvenating serum that will improve dull skin by exfoliating dead skin cells to reveal new brighter skin. Here’s how PRAI describes the Fast Renewal Serum:

  • “ACB Fruit Mix, a complex of 5 natural fruit extract AHAs, helps bring smoother, brighter skin to the surface and diminish the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Additional natural AHAs Glycolic Acid and Citric Acid help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, irregular pigmentation and enlarged pores.
  • PerfectionPeptide P3 helps the skin’s surface shed properly and speeds up surface renewal for a fresher, appearance.
  • Our proprietary PRAI Root Extract increases skin’s suppleness, smoothness and softness.
  • A potent complex of botanicals protects your new, freshly-bared skin from damaging free radicals and environmental stress.”

PRAI Glycolic Serum can be used both morning and night, though if you use it during the daytime you need to wear sunscreen. So I use it at night.

PRAI Glycolic Serum comes in a glass bottle with a glass dropper. The serum is clear, very pale yellow.

It has the very slightest floral scent that I could only smell by sticking my nose into the serum in the palm of my hand. When I apply it to my cleansed, toned skin, I don’t smell any fragrance.

The serum is watery and easy to press into my skin. It dries quickly, and I don’t feel it at all. It’s gentle and lightweight.

The bottle of PRAI Glycolic Serum Fast Renewal contains 1.7 fl. oz./50 ml and is priced at $50. It’s sold on the PRAI website.and HSN. I’ve been using my bottle once a day for about two months, and I think I’ve used only about a quarter of the bottle.

I use PRAI Glycolic Creme along with the Serum at night. The white cream has a light floral scent that I don’t really smell when I apply it over the serum to my face. The cream is lightweight, requires only a small amount, and it dries matte.

PRAI Glycolic Creme Fast Renewal came in a plastic jar, and it contains 1.7 oz./50 ml, and it is priced at $50. Like the Serum, it’s sold on the PRAI website and HSN. I’ve been using it for about 2 months, and have used about 1/3 of an inch from the top. There’s still a lot left.

  1. I absolutely LOVE glycolic. It has kept my skin going through a steroidal mess, more so than retinol (too harsh, made me dry and itchy) did. It kept my cells on their toes BUT was gentle, and reversed the dullness, and helped with mild acne (though not massive steroid cysts). I haven’t tried much from PRAI…it’s on my wishlist.
