AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream

Speaking of products from my Ipsy bags, I received AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream. I got it during the winter, but I already had a couple of hand cream bottles and jars open. Recently, I thought why am I saving this? I have waaaaay too many cosmetics that are “waiting in the wings”. I opened it, started using it a few weeks ago, and I’m glad I did.

Background

I like skincare products from AHAVA, and I’ve received a few of them over the years in my Ipsy bags.

AHAVA is a brand from Israel that was made using Dead Sea minerals. Well, their website still says “Dead Sea Minerals”. The name, AHAVA, in Hebrew generally means to love or more accurately to have affection for someone. And the product does say it was manufactured by AHAVA Dead Sea Laboratories, Dead Sea, Israel.

I know I have used AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream in the past, but this one is a different hand cream, one of several in their hand cream collection.

AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream

What’s It Like?

AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream is a medium weight, white, fluffy-ish cream. It has a light, inoffensive fragrance that disappears after a few minutes. The cream sinks into my hands immediately, and it is absolutely greaseless.

My hands are definitely on the dry side because I wash them so frequently. When I apply AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream, they are immediately softened, slightly plumped, and definitely smooth. This hand cream has dimethicone in it that certainly smooths my skin and makes my otherwise dry, desiccated skin look younger by plumping it. Although I wish this were fragrance-free, I otherwise love this hand cream.

What Is In It?

In addition to the Mineral Spring Water and Dead Sea Water Osmotic Concentrated Serum that supercharge skin with hydration, detoxes skin, prevents signs of aging, and promotes luminosity and radiance, AHAVA flags superfood ingredients Kale and Turmeric. With Vitamins A, B, C, and K and antioxidants, kale is perfect for dehydrated skin: it hydrates, detoxifies, and reduces fine lines. Turmeric reduces redness and blotchiness and may have lighten dark spots.

AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream also contains traditional hydrating ingredients and dimethicone for smoothness and silkiness that I mentioned above.

The organization, SkinSAFE, found it to be 91% Top Allergen Free and free of Gluten, Coconut, Nickel, Top Common Allergy Causing Preservatives, Lanolin, Paraben, Topical Antibiotic, MCI/MI, Soy, Oil, Dye, and SLS. It is alcohol-free and vegan.

Ingredient List: Allantoin, Mineral Spring Water, Brassica Oleracea Acephala (Kale) Leaf Extract, Ceteareth-30, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Citric Acid Citronellol, Curcuma Long (Turmeric) Root Extract, Dimethicone, Disodium Phosphate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Geraniol, Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Water, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Maris Aqua (Dead Sea Water/Osmoter Concentrated Serum), Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Phosphate, Potassium Sorbate, Propanediol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Sodium Citrate.

Retail Info

AHAVA Smoothing Hand Cream comes in a recyclable plastic tube containing 3.4 fl. oz./100 ml and it is priced around $25. It’s sold on the AHAVA website, at Ulta, Lookfantastic, Skinstore, and QVC among others.

I really like this hand cream especially for dehydrated, old-looking hands like mine. It works for me!

Whenever I would get Ahava I’d give it to my BIL. He’s a guitar player and his hands get very rough. Ahava is his favorite brand of hand cream.

    1. That’s very nice of you. I could see how it work for well for a musician!
