It’s so interesting to learn the backstory of so many of the independent skincare brands that seem to be popping up everywhere these days.
Kasey D’Amato, a physician’s assistant in Dermatology in LA for more than 15 years, was skeptical about the claims she heard from a lot of skincare products. As she got older and needed to find effective skincare products that she could feel good about using, not only on her patients but on herself, she decided to come up with her own skincare line. She wanted to create a brand of natural skincare formulations that were also medical grade. She enlisted her husband, Stephen, a First Assistant Director for a number of prime-time TV shows who worked with actors who needed more and more makeup to look good on today’s HD TVs, and her colleague Katherine Wilkens who is also a physician’s assistant, to create the new brand. Kasey and Katherine spent 2 years in research and development for their new brand, Airelle Skincare.
In conducting their research, they looked into the benefits of the blueberry, a superfood jam-packed with antioxidants. Kasey is originally from Maine, so blueberries were near and dear to her heart. She found out that one of the blueberry species with the strongest antioxidant properties is from Maine, her own home state. She and Katherine created their secret ingredient and proprietary complex Berrimatrix, an effective, photoprotective, antioxidant complex that became the center of the Airelle product line. Berrimatrix provides unparalleled protection from environmental damage, especially that caused by UV rays. I was unaware that UV rays can diminish skin’s collagen. Yikes! Airelle Age-Defying Facial Serum
The Age-Defying Facial Serum arrived just at the right time because I had recently finished up a bottle of luxury hyaluronic acid serum, and I was ready for a replacement. Airelle Age-Defying Facial Serum is perfect. It is a natural, medical grade super-lightweight serum with Berrimatrix and hyaluronic acid. I use it as the first step in my facial skincare routine after cleansing and toning because it really is an essence. I love the fact that it sinks right into my skin and disappears without a trace.
Airelle Age-Defying Facial Serum’s benefits include:

Airelle Age-Defying Eye & Lip Treatment
Airelle Age-Defying Eye & Lip Treatment was created to help diminish and/or prevent fine lines and wrinkles around eyes and lips. Now, who doesn’t want that? In addition, this lightweight pale yellow serum that goes on clear comes in a glass tube-like bottle with a metal massaging rollerball that feels so cold and so darn good when I use it. In fact, I have a terrible migraine today, and I could hardly wait to get home and use it under my eyes. Though my headache is in my head, the cooling sensation around my eyes definitely is helping me relax. Aaaaaah! Putting the tube in the fridge makes it even colder.

For several weeks, I’ve been using Eye & Lip Treatment on my crow’s feet, under eye area, lip lines, and the frown lines between my eyebrows. I was using it only at night, but then I read on their website that it should be used twice a day, so I recently started doing that. Because it too is a water-like essence, it can easily be used under makeup.
The areas where I have been using it feel more hydrated, but I haven’t seen my lines diminishing yet. It took me decades to develop these wrinkles, so I am not expecting them to disappear overnight. I will continue using this cooling spot treatment till I finish the bottle and then decide if I will purchase it.

So far my experience with Airelle has been very positive. I love that the ingredients are natural. You are so right about the lines taking decades to happen so people shouldn’t expect miracles. But with time you can definitely see a difference. I have a friend who switches skincare within two weeks if she doesn’t see a difference which makes no sense to me.
Gee, that is surprising that she would switch so quickly. I have been using eye creams on my upper eyelids for decades in order to keep my skin firmer than it would be if I didn’t use it. I’ve been trying hard to determine which ones work best, but still it takes ages to see a difference. I’m glad you’re having good experiences with the Airelle skincare too.
Skincare takes such a long time to see a noticeable difference! I’m going to check and see if I have that lip and eye treatment and start using it!

Love the idea of her using blueberries and being from Maine. It is a steep price for me, personally.
My husband’s from Maine so I was super excited to use something with blueberries but I’ve actually been really impressed with their moisturizer. I agree it’s a little on the pricey side and I do hope they come out with some sampler packs in the future so that people can test. I’m always scared to try something new and expensive and then it doesn’t work for my skin type.
