Amalie Beauty Persimmon Anti-aging Night Creme

Amalie Beauty has become one of my favorite natural and organic skincare brands because their products are so well-made and my dry skin loves them.

Recently, I wrote about REWIND Anti-aging Face Oil from Amalie’s Farm to Face collection of skincare products where the ingredients are grown organically on their Indiana farm and the finished product is handcrafted. Each batch is made with their own ingredients, and when it’s gone, it’s gone until a new crop is harvested next season. Persimmon Anti-aging Night Creme is part of the Amalie Farm to Face collection.

Here’s what Amalie has to say about it:

“Persimmon Anti-Aging Night Creme is the newest luxe addition to the organic, homegrown, handmade Farm to Face collection. Powerful extracts from persimmon leaf reduce visible signs of aging, while organic pumpkin seed and black walnut oils hydrate and nourish dry, tired skin. High levels of hyaluronic acid improves skin’s ability to retain water, leaving you with hydrated skin both day and night. If you smell carefully, the lightest fragrance of Persimmon will take you away to hot September days and cool September nights in Southern Indiana, where these Persimmons were born.”

I did a bit of reading about persimmon after this product arrived, and it is a vitamin and mineral powerhouse with vitamins A and C and lots of minerals including magnesium, phosphorous, calcium, potassium, and others. The persimmon fruit has been called “Divine Fruit” for its beauty and many health benefits. The leaf is valued by the Japanese for its many health benefits (aiding digestion and metabolism, curing allergies to pollen, and strengthening blood capillaries to prevent bruising), and it is made into tea. Cold persimmon leaf tea can be put into a spray bottle and used as a cooling toning mist. It can be mixed with aloe vera gel. Or you can just buy Amalie Persimmon Anti-aging Night Creme that also has other beneficial ingredients for healthy, youthful skin.

One of the things I like most about Persimmon Anti-aging Night Creme is its lightweight but very hydrating formula. It almost seems like a serum. The directions say to apply it after skin serums as a final step. I pump out a small amount that seems to be only a few drops, and that covers my face. It feels very light but also velvety on my skin. My skin feels hydrated but not weighed down. It is really unlike any moisturizer or “creme” that I’ve ever tried. I love it! If you dislike heavy anti-aging creams and moisturizers, this is for you!

Although the Amalie description of the product mentions “the lightest fragrance of Persimmon”, to be honest I don’t smell any scent.

Because it is a primarily hand grown and handcrafted skincare product, it is pricey. It is currently marked down on the Amalie Beauty website to $90 for 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz. The website still shows a code HOLIDAY17 for an additional 15% off (I would try it even though we’re in 2018!) There are samples available for $10. Free shipping. Amalie Beauty is a cruelty-free brand.

Have you tried any of the Amalie Beauty products yet?

  1. This sounds like another wonderful product from Amalie! Your review of their face oil alone has made me want to try this brand. The short list of ingredients for this cream is most impressive!

    1. I know you’re swimming in face oils, but REWIND is definitely worth adding to your list. And the Persimmon Antiaging Night Creme is the perfect weight moisturizer for LA 🙂

  2. Sounds like an amazing night cream, Allison and the texture sure sounds unique too. I also like the very short ingredient list but what I don’t like is the price. Ekk!

ps: I hit enter by mistake so the above comment was a dud. LOL! Also commentluv is not working for me, is there something I can change?

    1. Yes, Amalie Beauty is incredibly expensive, especially the Farm to Face collection because they grown many of the ingredients and it’s handmade.

I am going to shut off Comment Luv for now. I have a web developer who is trying to optimize my website, and I will ask him to look into it eventually.

  3. I love this kind of handmade ecological products! To bad it doesn’t smell more, because persimon smells lovely.

    1. Oh, do try it, Marcia! For me the scent is imperceptible, and it is such an unusual cream: lightweight and more like applying natural oils in solid form

  6. This looks like a really interesting product!

    1. It’s a beauty, Kerry!

  7. Wow that is costly! Haven’t heard of this brand before

  8. Yvette Price says:

Sounds like great treat for your face! I like that it doesn’t have a heavy scent.

    1. Yes, I agree with you. I don’t like heavy scents on my face.

  9. I love the smell of persimmon but it’s nice that it’s not a strong smell.

  10. This sounds really nice, I love that they offer samples given the ticket price!

    1. I agree. It’s great that they have samples especially since they are not that well known. Wish the sample was a little less expensive, but I think they have free shipping so that must be figured in to the price.

  11. This sounds really lovely and like a good option for my skin!

    1. Although it’s an investment, the fact that the key ingredients are farm-grown organically and then the creme is handcrafted is very cool – and the resulting product is lovely

  12. I would love to try a sample of this cream. It sounds so indulgent!

    1. I think it’s one that you would love. It’s like putting natural oils on my skin but in lightweight cream form. I wish their sample price was a little more reasonable (probably high because they have free shipping, I believe).

  13. This sounds really nice! I’m all about anti-aging as I enter my 40’s! 🙂

    1. Skincare is the most important thing!

  14. 25 Sweetpeas says:

    IT sounds pretty nice!

    1. If you’re into natural and organic skincare ingredients, this is about the pinnacle – they grow the key ingredients organically on their own farm, handcraft the cream, and when the ingredients are used up for the season, that’s it till next year. It’s an interesting concept. The product itself is lovely.

  15. Wow it sounds pretty amazing – pricey but the good things normally are.

  16. Looks like a nice night cream but agree, a bit pricey for the amount. Plus I’ve never heard of the brand so I would be a bit skeptical at first.

    1. I think it is hard to pay a lot for a brand you’re unfamiliar with. Amalie Beauty is fairly well known among those who are into natural and organic skincare. What’s different about this unusual anti-aging night cream is that the key ingredients are grown on their own farm and the creams are handmade. And when the ingredients from that year’s crop is used up, that’s it. It’s an interesting concept. The cream is great, but $90, even on sale, is a lot of money and most of us have to think twice. I think that’s why they sell samples (though they are a bit pricey too).

  17. I like the short list of ingredients. I would be interested though with the HA component, I want to know the exact source, it’s on my watch list but other than that, this sounds like a luxurious product

    1. I don’t see the source listed on the product page though it may be in their blog. The product is vegan so it’s not from an animal source. There’s a lot of info about the product and ingredients on Megan’s blog, but not the source of the HA or I didn’t see it: http://blog.amaliebeauty.com/say-hello-to-seasonal-beauty-with-our-persimmon-anti-aging-night-creme/

    2. Hi Kathryne!

The HLA is biotechnologically produced from glucose, soy peptone and yeast extract. None of our ingredients are derived from animals and we don’t perform animal testing (I know you didn’t ask, but you might be wondering!).

I love the HLA in this formulation and maximized the percentage we could use without affecting stability. The HLA is very, very expensive – hence the price tag on this product!

The growing / harvesting / preparation of ingredients made on our farm is also a big task, but it’s a labor of love. 🙂

      1. Thank you, Megan, for answering Kathryne’s question in detail. She is vegan and an aesthetic nurse so she is very careful about the skincare products she uses. I think she’d be a good candidate for Amalie Skincare

  18. My Nail Polish Obsession says:

I’ve never heard of this brand before, sounds great!

  19. This sounds so awesome!

  20. Night Creams are quintessential skincare products.I say its a investment for your skin. thanks for introducing to this particular brand

    1. I agree, Kadambari, that skincare products are your investment in your future!

  21. Hi Allison! You are right, women deserve to be more glowing by taking great care of our skin. I think Amalie is a pretty good product too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    1. Amalie is a wonderful, organic skincare brand with an entire line of skincare products. As you could tell, I’m a fan. Thanks, Courtney
