Another Artis Makeup Brush Haul Or Two

I Bought This - Affiliate links

I have about a zillion makeup brushes. Many of them came in my Ipsy bags and boxes over the years. I just have waaaaay too many. In fact, I am going to give my first set of makeup brushes, Sonia Kaschuk for Target, away on my local Buy Nothing group.

Over the past year, I have been trying to replace at least my face makeup brushes with Artis Makeup Brushes. IMO, Artis brushes have so many benefits.

Artis is the originator and creator of the oval makeup brush. What I love about the brushes are:

  • the ergonomically shaped handles that make them so easy for me to hold and manipulate
  • the positioning of the brush head that’s positioned like the pad of one’s finger so it feels like it does when you use your finger to apply makeup
  • the fact that you can use them for liquid, cream or powder makeup
  • the unique CosmeFibre bristles are a game changer for me. Here’s what Artis has to say about the bristles:

“The secret to that delicious finish is in our CosmeFibre®. It’s engineered to be used with cosmetics and skincare across all types of formulas – liquids, creams, and powders. Each fibre bundle is packed with 3-10 times more fibers than their closest makeup brush counterpart. The tip of each CosmeFibre® tapers down to 3 microns (which you can’t see with the naked eye) so you get the softest application and superior results.”

Artis brushes are expensive. But over the past year, I have found some great deals! Back in May, I wrote about my Artis purchase online at the luxury goods online sale site: 260 Sample Sale (here). The prices were cut by almost 70%! I bought two brushes, Oval 6 and Oval 4 from the Rose Gold Collection.

  • For me, Oval 6 is the perfect size for applying my foundation. Though others prefer the larger Oval 7, the 7 is too big for me. Oval 6 is my perfection!
  • I bought Oval 4 primarily to apply my blush, although Artis lists many other uses for it: eyeshadow, concealer, highlighter, foundation. And you might laugh, but it sank down in my brush holder and I forgot I bought it!

Next, I found another sale with deep discounts, and I bought two brushes from the Elite/Mirror Collection (the ones with the white on the handles):

  • another Oval 6 so I wouldn’t have to wash it all the time
  • the Circle 1 for applying eyeshadow, especially in the crease and at the outer or inner corner

Recently, the Artis website had a 50% off sale. I bought the Rose Gold Oval 4 brush because I completely forgot I had bought one in May! But now I will use one for blush and the other for concealer.  Although my hair needs to be washed, here I am with my blush applied with my new Oval 4 😉

I also picked up a bottle of Artis’ new brush cleaner:

“Our  NEW brush cleanser dispenses as a foam to help its ingredients work around each fibre of the brush. The actions of millions of bubbles in this proprietary formula help remove product residue without “drowning” the fibres, resulting in a thoroughly clean and fresh CosmeFibre® bundle.  In addition to cleaning, this bubble action also helps brush fibres dry within minutes, leaving your brushes cleansed and ready to use.”

I’m psyched to try it. A cleanser that dries in minutes so the brush can be used again almost immediately sounds great to me.

So I am not recommending that you try Artis brushes at their regular full prices. I’m suggesting you wait for their sales, either on the Artis website using the code AUG50 for 50% off right now or in the future on 260 Sample Sale. Although I am keeping my two Wayne Goss brushes and my Sigma brushes, I truly find that Artis makes makeup application so much easier for me.

It’s so tempting to buy the brushes on sale. I use one or more daily but I have dozens of brushes waiting for me to try them so I must be strong.

    1. You’re 100% right about the brushes, Marcia. Now that I have enough Artis brushes, I’m done. And I gave away some of my unused brushes to the Buy Nothing group 🙂
