April 18 2015 Weekly Roundup Beauty Blogazons

Weekend again! And weekly roundup time.

The Beauty Blogazons Weekly Roundup

Here are this week’s offerings from Beauty Blogazons.

Did you go to the Sephora Beauty Insider’s Discount Event yet? My wish list is at the end of the list below if you missed it earlier this week. I went to Sephora on Thursday and came back with more than I expected to buy. Isn’t that always the way? But I managed to get a free little makeover by telling Albert, the beautiful and talented MUA, that it was my birthday (that was the truth!). He mixed up the new CoverFX Drops with Bobbi Brown Moisturizer and Base to make a fabulous lightweight foundation. I’m so excited to have those versatile foundation drops. I’ll review them soon.

And check out the other gals’ posts. Lots of focus on the lips this week: lip balms, lip plumper and lipstick! Plus reviews of a face mask, makeup brands and hair care. Fun!

Enjoy your day!

Have a great weekend Allison and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope it was wonderful!
I planned on getting something during the Sephora discount but I’ll be damned…bills got in my way! I will make up for it though at a later date. 🙂 It is going to be such a pretty day. Lots of yard work in store for me if my body allows it. ha ha

    1. Thanks so much, Laura! I had a nice day. I’m glad to hear that it’s a beautiful day in OH. It is here too. I hope you are able to get some yard work done. I have that in my future too! The snow is almost but not quite gone 🙂

Oh my! Snow! I almost forgot about all the white stuff you got there. I am sure it will take awhile for you to do the same.
It got up to 79 degrees here. I even broke out in a little sweat raking outside. Since I was made up today I had to stop. ha ha I like to start things and worm hubby into finishing them for me. He got a lot done today. 😉 Love him!

    Happy belated birthday! 😀
I stopped by Sephora on Thursday as well, since I was actually in the city. I wanted my free VIB makeup bag, darnit! hahaha
I also wanted to be able to play with a few things before committing to purchase. I blind-buy so often that I’m used to it and generally know what will work based on internet swatches, but it’s nice to actually SEE a product every once in a while. 😛

    1. Thank you, Rach! I’m glad you got to Sephora too. I was so annoyed that the stupid girl at the register not only didn’t give me my VIB bag but she took out the empty plastic jars that the MUA gave me to mix my CoverFX Drops in. Plus she couldn’t figure out how to add the shampoo that wasn’t in the store that I need. Grrr. I wanted to go back but haven’t had a chance. Is the bag cute? I agree, it helps so much to see a product in person. I can’t buy from a swatch most of the time.

I buy from swatches so often that I’ve become pretty good at determining if something will or will not work out for me. I wanted to test-drive some different foundations, but a base-smeared hand and arm later and I was right back to the same Lancome I’ve been using. I’ll probably get a bottle of the lightest shade though since I’m more pale now than I was when I bought my current bottle last fall. Then I’ll probably just mix them.
The bag is cute but it wouldn’t have been the end of the world if I didn’t get one. It’s one of the taller kinds that zips across the top but then the whole bag folds in half. I think they called it a fold-over clutch, or something. It’s black/white stripes on one side, plain black on the other, and the interior is red.
I think that if you feel up to the hassle of getting back over there then they should make things right for you. You should have received the bag since that was what they advertised for the Thursday VIB sale access date, and if the MUA gave you some empty containers then the girl at the register shouldn’t have taken those away either. Did she think you were what- just walking around the store and taking things from their makeover area when they weren’t looking? How silly.
The girl on my checkout counter had to ring me up like three times while all the other cashiers were zipping through things and all their customers were paying and leaving quickly. First she wanted to give me a physical rewards card (I have a number but never have had the actual card since I originally signed up and still do most of my shopping online) which is fine but required more scanning and whatnot. I do think that she did manage to link it to my account correctly, at least. Then she forgot the bag. Then she gave me the total and hadn’t even applied my discount! She was nice but I don’t think it was quite her day, if you know what I mean.

geesh what is it with me and novel writing today?!?
