When my friend K and I were having dinner at a new Thai restaurant a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had just bought a couple of things on the April Cornell website. She said she was surprised that I was a fan, or something like that. She was right, I don’t usually go for traditional clothes or patterns. But some of April Cornell’s floral designs remind me of fabrics from Provence, and I love those.

My two items arrived, and I’ve been wearing them quite a lot. Because the April Cornell website is having more sales now including their big sale on holiday items, I thought I’d show you what I bought in case we have any floral design fans among the NSDB readership.

Yellow has never been one of my favorite colors, but this yellow floral print top – Deanna Jersey Blouse – really spoke to me. I’m obsessed with it. I love all the other pastel shades that are in the print.
The style with the elbow length sleeves was also a little different from other tops I’ve been wearing. Because I don’t have a photo of me wearing the top and I’m not the world’s greatest stylist, here’s an April Cornell model wearing it.
Once I settled on the top, a cotton sweater with floral appliqués on the shawl collar – Angel Sweater – caught my eye. I loved the three-quarter sleeves, too. It was definitely unlike any cardigan sweaters that I own. And in mint green, it worked well with the yellow floral top.
After the two items arrived, I realized that I could wear them with two pairs of summer pants that I bought years ago, one pair mint green, the other apricot. Great!
And the top even goes with the spring purse I bought at the Peabody Essex Museum gift shop in the spring.

I am smitten by a couple of April Cornell tea towels – Tulip Dance Tea Towel Set – and a cotton bath towel – Flora Honeycomb Bath Towel -, though I am trying to stay strong and not spend any more money. Very tempting, however.
What beautiful purchases! The shirt and sweater are just perfect for the summer, and the yellow shirt and your purse pair perfectly! Those tea towels are absolutely gorgeous! Well done, Allison!
While I don’t wear florals I think these are great, especially the cardigan. The colors are so pretty.
