So, how was your Halloween? After an afternoon spent doing yard work, I didn’t have the energy to do a full costume. I put on some makeup and a witch hat, and that was it. How ’bout you? Did you dress up?
This year because Halloween was on a Saturday night, I thought there would be a record number of trick or treaters showing up in our neighborhood (a subdivision). I bought 18 bags of fun sized candies to be prepared. But the majority of the kids in the ‘hood are now older, and even with kids coming in from other parts of town, I was surprised that I had candy left over. I expected the kids from the local college to show up after 8:00, but they didn’t. A few groups of college kids came early, and that was it. Well, it was a fun time anyway!

It poured rain here all Halloween, so we didn’t get many trick-or-treaters. I’m in a residential neighborhood full of families and apartments, so I usually get a ton and give away about 15 -20 lbs. of candy. This year, we gave out maybe 5 lbs.
I’m in a foot cast, so I wasn’t able to dress up and give out candy like I normally do. I did wear Halloween colored eyeshadow, black lipstick and skull jewelry for fun, though. My son dressed as a vampire to give out candy, so I did his makeup.
Rachel, I’m sorry to hear that you’re in a cast! Boo, not fair! But it’s great that you did your and your son’s Halloween makeup. It’s fun, and hopefully you got to lie on the couch and watch the kiddies come to the door. Too bad it rained. It should be illegal for it to rain on Halloween night! What did you do with the rest of the candy that didn’t get given out? I need ideas 😉
I strained my Achilles tendon really badly. I have about 2 more weeks in the cast, then I see the doctor again. I don’t know if I’ll get the cast off then or not.
My sons are too old to trick or treat, so they’re working their way through the candy. lol There’s so much, it’ll last them a very long time.
Sorry to hear it, Rachel. Achilles take a long time to heal 🙁 I’m thinking healing thoughts for you! On the candy front, I’m going to give away a couple of the leftover bags otherwise, I’m in big trouble 😉 BTW, kids from the local college trick or treat in my neighborhood. I think that’s too old
