Beauty Products I Repurchased in 2021

There are a number of beauty products that I repurchased in 2021, meaning they already are or are on their way to becoming staples in my beauty arsenal. Here they are!

I Bought These, Affiliate Links

Beauty Tools

Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton Pads box, neversaydiebeauty.com

Koh Gen Do Cotton Pads: I have repurchased these organic pure cotton rectangular pads several times over the past few years. In addition to being super soft and not pilling, their larger size makes them perfect for removing makeup. They’re on sale now at Lovelyskin.com.

FOREO LUNA Mini 3: I’m not sure if this counts as a repurchase since it is really an upgrade from my original FOREO LUNA, but what the heck. I love the smaller size of the mini with more silicone “teeth”. Worth the money, though I bought it on sale.

Bath & Body

Hey Honey Walk the Walk Propolis Foot & Heel Repair Cream: This rich foot balm from Hey Honey has turned out to be my favorite for softening my feet, though I still wish it came in a tube instead of a tub. Nevertheless, I bought two.

LXMI Pure Nilotica Melt: I originally received this rich balm (in a tube!) in my Ipsy Plus Bag, and I have since repurchased it. Before I tried Hey Honey Walk the Walk, I used this balm on my feet. But it’s excellent for dry skin anywhere on the body.

Ravish Soap Co. “Beach Please” Coconut & Sea Salt Soap: When I first tried this gorgeous natural, handmade soap that was recommended by a long-time subscriber to the blog, I wasn’t able to get enough suds out of it. Even though I wrote in my review that it is the most beautiful handmade soap I have ever seen or used (the top is jam-packed with glitter and tiny soap seashells!), the fact that I mentioned that I was having a difficult time getting it to produce enough suds offended the woman who recommended it and she unsubscribed after we had a cordial back and forth via email where I asked her for ideas on how to get it to soap up. I am very sad about that. Nevertheless, I continued to use the soap and discovered that if I cut it in half and wore off the outer part of the soap with water, it began to soap a lot better. I ended up buying 4 more bars of this beautiful soap. Go figure. They won’t have this soap again till spring/summer, but they have plenty of other nice bar soaps for the season now.

Nature Island Botanicals Caribbean Escape Body Butter and Bar Soaps: I was sad that Daphne that craftswoman and esthetician behind handmade, organic NIB bath, body and skincare products decided not to come back to the Waterfront Festival craft fair in Gloucester this year, I reordered my long time favorite products from her and had them delivered by Fedex. I’ve been using her products for more than 10 years. I hope Daphne doesn’t retire any time soon!

Skincare

City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment: You’re probably sick of me extolling the virtues of City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment that has become the best “spackle” for the skin above my crease. I’ve bought 3 of them so far this year. For purchasing any product on City Beauty’s website when there isn’t a sale, use my code NEVERSAYDIEBEAUTY for a 15% discount.

PCA Skin Ideal Complex Revitalizing Eye Gel: Before I discovered City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment, this clear eye gel was my fave. I stocked up while they were on sale (since they are $90 a tube), and they’re waiting in my stash. But now I strongly prefer Lid Lifting Treatment that works better and is less expensive. Nevertheless, I will use these on other areas around my eyes because it’s an excellent eye gel. The clear gel is also great for preventing milia. Right now, it’s 25% off on BeautifiedYou.com with code HOLIDAYS.

CeraVe Eye Repair Cream: This white, rich, affordable eye cream from CeraVe easily purchased in the drugstore is terrific for the eye area. I use it on my lids, crow’s feet and undereye areas.

Derma E Stem Cell Eye Lifting Treatment: Another excellent firming, anti-wrinkle eye cream. I use this one the same way I use the CeraVe. I love them both.

City Beauty UpLift Firming Serum: I love this liqui-gel serum in the dropper bottle to help firm the skin along my jawline. Though it works best followed up with City Beauty Multi-Action Sculpting Cream, it works well for me on its own.

City Beauty City Lips: This lip plumping gloss that contains collagen and hyaluronic acid instead of the dreaded peppermint oil keeps my dry lips supple and repairs them after wearing drying lipstick while giving them a little plump. I’ve been using this for at least 5 years, and I do think it has made my lips fuller.

Health & Beauty

VitEyes Blue Light Defender Gummies: This is one item that I have to take on faith that it’s doing something: i.e. protecting my eyes from the blue light emitted by my desktop, laptop and iPhone. They’re yummy, so that’s why I bought more. Nevertheless, I probably should just buy myself some inexpensive blue light blocking glasses!

Vegamour Lovestruck Biotin Gummies for Thinning Hair: I love love love these yummy heart-shaped strawberry 5000 mg biotin gummies from Vegamour. Though they are supposed to help hair grow, they also help my nails. Right now, the gummies and everything else on the Vegamour website are 25% off with the code New22.

Makeup

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow, shade Champagne: CT cream shadow is my favorite cream eyeshadow because it is so creamy and easy to apply. It doesn’t turn stiff or hard like MAC Paint Pots and ColourPop do. I wish they would expand beyond CT’s normal gold, rose gold, pink shades with some silvers or other colors, but CT stays true to her branded color palette. Oh well.

Milk Makeup Kush Mascara: I used to only use lengthening mascaras, but Milk Makeup got me to also like adding some volume to my lashes. This one is my favorite volumizing mascara du jour. I’ve started buying minis in mascara when I can so that I am more likely to toss them after 3 months than a full size.

Half Caked Totally Tubular Mascara: I just bought a second tube of Half Cake Totally Tubular Mascara, though I decided to get one with a different shaped wand that I will review separately. The fact that I love Totally Tubular Mascara was a complete surprise to me because I was always grossed out by the little tubes that would come off my lashes when I removed other tubing mascara brands like Lancôme and others when I removed the mascara at the end of the day. Half Caked Totally Tubular is a fabulous lengthening mascara that’s easy to apply. And when I remove it, it melts like regular mascara – not a tube in sight! As a Prime member, I bought mine on Amazon where the shipping was free even though the mascara cost $2 more.

Butter London Lip Crayon in Teddy Boy: When I repurchased Butter London’s wonderful lip crayon in the great pink-mauve everyday shade, Teddy Boy, earlier this year, I got the last one in existence. Boo hoo. A super soft crayon that comes with a sharpener, Butter London discontinued this product a couple of years ago. Over the years, I think I bought 4 or 5 of them, but sometimes all good things come to an end.

Nails & Hair

Olive & June Mani System was one of my favorite discoveries of 2021. I have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. I have virtually stopped using all my other polishes because nothing last as long on my nails as O&J.

Olive & June Nail Polish Remover Pot: I love this small, foam lined pot of non-acetone remover. I don’t know how it does it since it doesn’t have acetone, but it even removes O&J glitter polishes. It’s a cinch to use.

Olive & June Cuticle Conditioning Serum Wand: Although I am bad at remembering to use cuticle serum every night, I am more likely to use this easy to apply wand with cuticle softener. It has a foam tip so I just dab on the conditioner. And it works.

Olive & June Nail Polish: I have bought a lot of full size and mini size polishes from O&J. For me, the long lasting polish is the best there is.

JOICO K-PAK Luster-Lock Color Therapy Hair Treatment: I’ve been using and repurchasing this rich conditioning treatment for years. It works so well on my coarse locks.

There are probably more cosmetics that I repurchased in 2021 that I have forgotten. But these are the real standouts. Which beauty products did you repurchase in the past year?

Oh my gosh! I am flabbergasted that someone unsubscribed simply because you had difficulty with a soap!!! Dear heavens!!!

    1. Thank you, I feel the same way. And I even wrote a follow up post describing how I got it to work better. Oh well, you can’t please all of the people all of the time!!

      1. Gabrielle says:

You and I don’t always like the same things, but honestly I can’t see anything offensive about that. People are different and have different experiences.

        1. Exactly! Thank you xoxo

    2. I totally agree!!

  2. Hi, Allison – Wow, this post is chock full of great information! I have been needing a new foot cream, so I should check out the Hey Honey Walk the Walk. My newest favorite soap is by Zum and I love all their essential oil based products. Frankincense and Myrrh particularly made my skin smooth and clear. I purchased City Beauty’s Lid Lifting Treatment because of you and I love it as much as you do. CeraVe Eye Repair Cream is an old favorite of mine, as I have sensitive skin. I love everything Derma-E so I should try their eye treatment. If City Beauty Uplift Serum really lifts the jawline, I def have to try it! And City Beauty City Lips…City Beauty is pricey but the quality is through the roof! The VitEyes Blue Light Defender sounds good because my optometrist did recommend vitamins for the eyes. I like your tip about buying mini mascaras since we aren’t supposed to keep them more than three months anyway. Thanks for all this inspo! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Oh, I’m so glad to hear that City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment suited you, too, Angie! With City Beauty, I wait for their sales and then stock up, lol. I have 2 Lid Lifting Treatment tubes and 2 City Lips in my stash, so I hope there’ll be some more sales in a few months 😉 I’m curious about which vitamins for the eyes your optometrist recommended. VitEyes also makes a lot of eye vitamins of different kinds, but I don’t know enough about those to know which vitamins are best

  3. What phenomenal repurchases, Allison! I totally understand why the Derma E eye cream is on the list! I think that it is one of the best eye creams, and I will buy a replacement tube as soon as I finish the one that is currently in my rotation! You have ben tempting me with the Nature Island Botanicals soaps since you first posted about them, and one of the days I am really going to have to purchase some!

    1. Thank you! xo

  4. Funny but I was thinking about a similar post but there are only a few things I repeatedly buy (It Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum, Bioderma Micellar and Mirakle Skin moisturizer). On your recommendation I bought the Koh Gen Do pads and that Derma E eye cream.

    1. I hope the KGD pads and the Derma E eye cream worked out for you! As bbloggers, I know we recommend things we like, but I’m always nervous about it 😉

  5. Tricia says:

Love Viteyes Blue Light Defender! It’s certainly helped relieve my headaches and eye strain!

    1. and they taste so good!

  6. I’m still using my original FOREO Luna from years ago. They’re so well-made!
Glamorable recently posted…My Favorite Fall Supplements for Immune Support from NOW Foods + Giveaway! My Profile

    1. I still have my original/first generation FOREO Luna as well, and it too still works. The mini that I bought this past year fits me better and has more silicone bristles, so on sale, it was worth the upgrade!
