Beauty Spotlight Team Weekly Roundup 14 April 2016

Happy weekend! What are you up to? Any special plans??

I need to jump in the shower and get ready for our afternoon plan. Jeff and I are going to an opening at the Cape Ann Museum, and we’re meeting a friend there. Last night, our friend Sue came over for dinner, and I made Pad Thai for the first time. It came out pretty well, but I didn’t make quite enough sauce for the amount of rice noodles because I only had one lime, a key ingredient in the sauce. Somehow I managed to forget all about the jarred Pad Thai sauce that I bought a few days before. Oh well. Tomorrow, it’s supposed to return to winter with sleet and maybe some snow. I can’t believe it. So our plans for cleaning up the gardens are on hold.

Things are getting busy for me. My bday is Monday, and we’ll go out to dinner somewhere I think. Then I’ve gotta get going and start packing for our trip to Amsterdam later in the week. I will take my laptop with me, but I won’t be blogging everyday. If I have time, I will share pix of our trip as we go. As I may have mentioned previously, we’re going to Holland to see the tulips in bloom (I hope they’ll be in bloom because it’s been wintry in Europe too) and to go to lots of art museums. I’m so psyched! Let me know if you have any restaurant recommendations in Amsterdam.

We are on day 2 of the nasty storm that is coming your way. Make sure everything loose is fastened down. Last night all night long I heard the sleet and freezing rain hit the window. But I also heard trash receptacles rolling down the road. This morning I noticed small front door/area decorations were scattered everywhere too. The freezing rain has finally stopped but the roads look terrible. I don’t have to go out until tomorrow afternoon so I am having a kick back day. Your dinner sounds wonderful.

    1. Thank you, Sandy. Wish you lived closer so you come over and join us! Oh, how awful about the bad weather in MI! When will this winter end??? It’s 32 degrees here, and we had a little freezing rain, some snow flurries in the air, and some strong wind gusts, but so far, we’ve been spared any real snow. I’m kinda bummed out that tomorrow is rain with a high go 49 degrees on my birthday. We have no leaves on the trees, no forsythia in bloom, just hellebores (that have been blooming since December) and snow drops. Kinda depressing. Hoping that Amsterdam later in the week will have better weather!
