For the past two years, I haven’t been wearing mascara very often. As a result, I stopped using lash growth serum. I literally forgot about it.

In one of my posts several weeks ago, I mentioned that my friend, M., pointed out her eyelashes to me one afternoon when we were hanging out. I was blown away by how long they were. I don’t think I have ever seen her lashes that long. They looked great. She told me that her daughter recommended that she try GrandeLASH. Well, it certainly worked! A few weeks later, I saw her daughter, and her lashes were just as impressive.
Recently, as I was thinking about my friends’ long lashes, I decided I should start using the RapidLash tube that was sitting on my bathroom vanity. I shouldn’t admit this, but it was the same tube I used a couple of years ago. Yes, I know I should toss it. Regardless, I started using it again as many nights as I would remember. I guess that was around three weeks ago.
Last week, an ad for Grande Cosmetics came up repeatedly on my Facebook feed. They were having a 20% off sale. I had been thinking that maybe I would get a tube when Sephora has their VIB sale in a week, but since my Sephora VIB designation only gets me 15% off, the brand’s sale was definitely preferable. Now was my chance to try Grande Lash.
I put a tube in my cart, and for some reason, the site wouldn’t let me check out. I tried repeatedly, but something was wrong. I gave up. The next time the Grande Cosmetics ad showed up in my FB feed, I wrote a comment to Grande Lash. They told me I had to accept cookies and their privacy terms before I could check out. That pissed me off (sorry).
I kept getting emails from Grande Cosmetics telling me they were holding my cart for me. Then emails saying they couldn’t hold it much longer and that the sale price was going to run out.
In the meantime, I put on some mascara and looked at my lashes in the mirror. My lashes looked really long, so I decided that I could stick with RapidLash rather than spend more money on a different brand.
GrandeLASH MD Lash Enhancing Serum Info
GrandeLASH MD Lash Enhancing Serum, I recently discovered (like today), comes in travel size, full size and jumbo.
- The travel size is a 6 week supply and is priced at $36.
- The regular size that is a 3 month supply is priced at $68.
- The jumbo is a 6 month supply and is priced at $125.
I didn’t realize that they had a travel size. One of the reasons I balked at purchasing GrandeLASH is that I have sensitive eyes. A number of lash serums I’ve tried irritated my eyes. With the travel size, there’s less to lose. My concern is not that GrandeLASH serum won’t work (I’ve seen evidence that it certainly does), but that I couldn’t use it.
GrandeLASH MD Lash Enhancing Serum is sold on the Grande Cosmetics website and at Sephora. On the Grande Cosmetics website, you can spin a wheel to get a discount or sign up for emails for 10% off.
Here are the ingredients in the GrandeLASH formula:

RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum Info
As I mentioned, I have had my tube of RapidLash for a long, long time (reviewed here in 2019). I used it successfully before the pandemic, and then I stopped because I got lazy and no one was seeing my lashes anyway. (Jeff doesn’t usually notice my eyelashes.)
I started using RapidLash again about 3 weeks ago. As I said previously, when I wear mascara, my lashes are really long. Too bad my expensive iPhone 13 Pro Plus that I bought for its spiffy camera doesn’t do a better job capturing an eye closeup. You may have to take my word for it. At any rate, I am very satisfied with my results with RapidLash.
Technically, I don’t know how long a tube of RapidLash is supposed to last. The RapidLash tube contains 0.1 fl. oz. It’s lasted me forever with off and on use. In the beginning, I used it every day for 4-6 weeks or maybe even longer.
A tube of RapidLash is priced at $49.99 on the RapidLash website, at Ulta and Dermstore where you can often get a 20% off coupon code. It’s sold online at Costco/costco.com in a two-tube pack for the very affordable price of $54.99.

- Amino Acids: help boost the protein structure of lashes, resulting in a healthier-looking appearance

Lust or Must?
The key ingredients of the two brands are similar, and their full ingredient list has a number of the same ingredients: amino acids, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, and glycerin. They both have some alcohol in their formulas, but RapidLash’s alcohol is further down the ingredient list. They both have moisturizers. GrandeLASH has more plant extracts, but RapidLash has a couple.
I think they both deliver good or even great results to many people who try them. Both have some people who report that their lashes fell out or that their eyes were irritated, but the vast majority of reviews of both products are overwhelmingly positive.
One of the key differences is in the price. So: lust? or must?
Have you tried a lash enhancing serum? If so, which brand do you like?

It’s good that they both have good results. I don’t know why, but I never bother with lash growth serums!

GrandeLash’s mini doesn’t last very long so IMO it’s a waste of money. The other thing is that I often felt it burning when I used it. I think you wouldn’t find it comfortable.
I splurged and bought Latisse since I am sick of my wimpy lashes and I’m starting to see a difference now in the two weeks I’ve used it. It worked for me years ago and then I started experimenting. If my lashes continue this growth then I’m sticking with it. Oh and it doesn’t sting me ever.
