Bespoke Perfume Expert, Sue Phillips, for Valentine’s Day!

The “First Lady of Fragrance” has created a new Discovery Kit that you and your partner, or you alone, can use to create unique fragrances for Valentine’s Day! But first let me tell you a bit about Sue Phillips.

Sue Phillips, an internationally known fragrance expert, also known as “The Nose That Knows” has created scents for some of the best known celebrities, brand names, and those who adore fragrances for more than 40 years. In fact, Sue Phillips created TIFFANY, the famed jewelry retailer’s very first fragrance!

In addition to developing scents for corporations and the famous, Sue Phillips will put together a “Scentsory Experience”  to develop a bespoke fragrance for private clients. How I would love that!

Create Your Own Scent With A Sue Phillips Discovery Kit

In time for Valentine’s Day, Sue created a Discovery Kit with eight 3ml high quality, natural and different perfumes. You go onto the Sue Phillips website, and you choose 8 scents from four key notes:

  • Fresh: Sparkling Citrus, Luscious Fruity, Fresh Tonic, Crisp Green, Breezy Ozonic
  • Floral: Modern Rose Floral, Sensual Floral, Heady Floral, Gentle Floral, Fresh Floral
  • Spicy: Smooth Amber, Exotic Spicy, Balsamic Vanilla
  • Woodsy: Mellow Musky, Warm Musky, Relaxing Herbal, Earthy Mossy

My Discovery Kit was chosen for me, so I got to play with different scents that I might have chosen for myself. The set comes with 8 blotter strips to try out the scents to get an idea of what they smell like wet and dry.

Scent Combo #1

What amazed me was that my first scent combination was a hit! I absolutely love the delectable scent that I created! It is so completely different from my usual spicy, gender neutral scents.

Here’s what I did:

I mixed together Modern Rose Floral, Balsamic Vanilla, and Mellow Musky, and created the most magnificent feminine scent. I started out small with these three, using a pippette to mix equal parts of Balsamic Vanilla and Mellow Musky with a little more Modern Rose. Next, I mixed it into the empty crystal spray bottle. I jotted down the “recipe” so I would remember it if I liked it. In fact, I am almost finished with the small amount that I made, so I definitely will make more of this one!

More Scent Combos!

I’ve got 5 more perfumes to play with. To my surprise, the Crisp Green – not a scent that I usually gravitate toward – is calling to me. I need to figure out what I should mix it with

Retail Info

The 3 ml perfumes are usually priced at $20 each, but the Discovery Kit provides an excellent value for Valentine’s Day at $95. Plus, you get to select your scents! It’s so much fun to have someone ask you for fragrance you’re wearing, and you can say you made it yourself with Sue Phillips’ scents!
