Biotrue Hydration Boost To The Rescue!

On Saturday night, I was making haddock breaded with panko and parmesan in a cast iron pan. All of a sudden, a chunk of panko flew up out of the pan into the air and hit me right in my eye. It was the weirdest thing. And it was really painful because the panko has sharp edges.

Fortunately, I had given Jeff a bottle of Biotrue Hydration Boost Eye Drops. I had received two bottles to test out, and I wanted to get his opinion. Like me, he has dry eye but not quite as bad as I do. I grabbed the bottle of Biotrue and squirted a couple of drops in my eye. Ah, relief!

I put a drop of prescription Restatis in each of my eyes in the morning and before bed. It is supposed to help my eyes make more tears. I also have plugs in my lower tear ducts to prevent my tears from draining so quickly. Both help somewhat, but they’re not a cure for dry eye. As a result, I need to have eye drops on hand.

For at least the past 5 years, I had stuck with one brand and type of eye drops. The brand I used had several different types, and I used one that came in individual plastic ampules that you used once or no more than for one day and then tossed. The eye drops contained flax seed oil, and they were thick and soothing. But they were wasteful. I ended up throwing away a lot of half used plastic vials.

Biotrue Hydration Boost eye drops were developed for irritated, dry eyes from dry eye, from digital screens, wind, sun, contact lenses, and a host of other irritants. The key active ingredient, glycerin, is found naturally in tears as is sodium hyaluronate (a form of hyaluronic acid). Who knew? The formula also contains protective antioxidants and electrolytes. The formula is very soothing, works instantly and helps protect eyes from further dryness due to environmental stress.

Biotrue comes in a small plastic drop bottle that’s easy to keep on hand or carry in purse or pocket. Biotrue Hydration Boost eye drops provide instant moisture. They are pH balanced, preservative-free, and they can be used by contact lens wearers.

I like these drops a lot. They’re manufactured by Bausch & Lomb, the company that makes Bausch & Lomb Biotrue Contact Lenses and Contact Lens Solution.

Plus the eye drops are cost effective and easy to find in stores. The price is varies by retailer, but it’s about $11+ for a 0.33 fl. oz. bottle. It also comes in two bottle boxes. You can find Biotrue Hydration Boost Eye Drops at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, and Amazon. CVS has a $2 off coupon right now.

I’m going to see a friend who has dry eye on Tuesday so I’ll be sure to share this article with her. You are lucky that you had this nearby. And with Bausch & Lomb you know you can trust it.

    1. Yes, I was lucky to have Biotrue close at hand. My dry eye has been a problem for me for years, so I use Restasis, moist heat for 10 minutes every day, plugs in my tear ducts, and I carry eye drops like these from Biotrue or flax oil drops from Refresh. I hope your friend has her dry eye under control!

  3. How do you use the little squeeze bottles? Can they be closed? No instructions with them.

    1. Not sure I follow, Doug. The two bottles of Biotrue Hydration Boost that I have both came with their own screw top – you can see it in the photos. I have other eye drops that come in single use plastic ampules.
