JAFRA was a new to me cosmetics brand. So when I was offered the opportunity to try out a couple of their makeup products, I said yes. Before we left on our trip to NC,I quickly looked at the JAFRA website. Though I did notice the box at the top right “Find a beauty consultant”, it didn’t really register with me. I don’t usually work with MLM companies, but I didn’t realize that what it is. Fortunately, it appears that, like Avon, you can purchase online without having to go through a beauty consultant. Unless of course, you enjoy working with a beauty consultant.
Brief Background
JAFRA is an American brand, started back in 1956 by Jan Day (that’s Jan in the middle of the photo below) and her husband Frank. Thus, JAFRA!
The California-based company was and still is a woman-owned alternative to the British company, Avon, that was started in the late 19th century by a man. Jan’s mission was to sell high quality makeup and empower women in the process by giving them the opportunity to go into business for themselves. Go JAFRA!
Now, JAFRA is sold in several countries around the world. It doesn’t test its products on animals.
Their cool website has a virtual try-on feature that’s fun to use and helpful when choosing makeup online.
JAFRA Products
JAFRA has a broad product portfolio. It sells products for women, men and children in the following categories:
- skincare
- makeup
- beauty tools: makeup brushes and nail tools
- nail products
- hair products
- fragrance
- bath and body
- sun protection
- home fragrance
JAFRA Lip Products
I chose two lip products from JAFRA to try out since I so seldom get sent makeup to test lately:
Automatic Lipliner
I decided to go for a lipliner because it’s a product that I don’t wear often enough. Plus some of the lipliners that I own are dry and tug at my lips.
JAFRA Automatic Lipliner is heavenly. It comes in a retractable tube that helps prevent the tip from breaking off. The liner itself is ultra-smooth and goes on like a breeze. It’s non-drying which I truly appreciate.
I chose the pinky-mauve color, Blushing, but it also comes in 4 other shades:
- Dahlia: deep burgundy red
- Poppy: bright red
- Nutmeg: spicy medium brown
- Merlot: neutral brick shade
If you’re looking for an easy to apply lipliner that stays on and doesn’t feather, check out JAFRA Automatic Lipliner.
Luxury Lipstick
I’m always on the lookout for non-drying lipstick, especially those that hydrate my lips. I found one in JAFRA Luxury Lipstick with nutritious Royal Jelly RJ. Here’s how JAFRA describes their royal jelly ingredient:
Exclusive technology that multiplies the potency of nature’s royal jelly and delivers revitalizing nutrients deep into the surface layers for skin that looks and acts younger
What amazed me about this lipstick with royal jelly is that it is as light as a feather. Frankly, I often wonder if I’m wearing it, but of course, I am. The texture is light, soft and velvety. I love it.
In addition to Parisian Pink – a bright pink-coral (though it looks darker in the photo above) – that I chose,
it also comes in 13 other shades in a broad range of colors. Check ’em out!
Final Thoughts
I’m glad I had a chance to try JAFRA makeup, a brand that, based on the two products I tried, truly deserves more love! I won’t hesitate to try more of their product line in the future.

Thank you, thank you xo
That lip liner sounds fabulous!
You’re right, the JAFRA lipliner is my new fave!
Hi, Allison – I sold Jafra for at least ten years and have gotten it ever since from my good friend who is a consultant. Their star product is Royal Jelly, a rejuvenating ingredient made by bees. Their Royal Jelly products are the height of luxury. They made my favorite lipstick which I used for a few decades. Recently, they suddenly stopped making it. So I’m glad to see that Parisian Pink is a coral shade that I could love. I’ve had a hard time finding warm pink lipsticks over the years. I will definitely be trying it, as it looks perfect modeled on you! Thanks! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
