(pH)ix Peptide Serum and Caffeine Eye Cream

With all my technical IT woes, it’s been a while since I have had a chance to review some of the products I was sent at least a month or so ago.

One of the new-to-me brands is The (pH)ix. The (pH)ix was started by a young man named Brendan after several personal challenges including his mother’s Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. He set out to create facial and soon to be body care products that are effective and gentle. Here’s the mission for the brand:

“At The Phix, we believe in transcending the conventional to bring you skincare solutions that are not only effective but also inclusive and compassionate. Our products are meticulously formulated with vegan, cruelty-free, and pH-balanced ingredients, ensuring that your skin receives the utmost care and attention it deserves.”

A while ago, I was sent three facial skincare products to try out. I misplaced one of them so that one will be reviewed in the future once I find it! I have been using the other two products religiously, and I truly love them both!

The (pH)ix (pH)iller Peptide Serum

The (pH)ix (pH)iller Peptide Serum is a delight. It is a thick, white gel cream that smooths, rejuvenates and protects skin. In fact, I use it during the day as a combination serum and moisturizer because it covers and nourishes my skin so well.

The [pH]iller Peptide Serum is loaded with peptides, marine algae, and antioxidants to repair the skin barrier, protect the face skin at the molecular level, and ameliorate signs of aging, such as:

  • Visibly Tighten Skin
  • Help Fade Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Regenerate, Hydrate & Restore Elasticity.

I can actually feel the serum tighten, hydrate and make my skin feel more elastic. I love this stuff!

Here are its core ingredients and how they work:

Argireline (Hexapeptide-8)

  • A signaling peptide that acts like botox by relaxing the facial muscles and lessening muscle tension, softening the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Nannochloropsis Oculata (Algae) Extract

  • A marine microalgae that provides an almost instant skin tightening effect. It tells the fibroblasts (connective tissues where collagen is produced) to contract, pulling the epidermis closer for a contour effect.
  • It also protects the skin from oxidative stress and environmental factors that accelerate aging like UV and pollution.

Acmella Oleracea

  • Mimics botox by relaxing the facial muscles and lessening muscle tension, softening the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and lessening the severity of ones to come.

Fermented Marine Bacteria

  • A fermentation of bacteria from deep in the Antarctic oceans; this active improves hydration, and the skin’s energy metabolism, which slows the breakdown of collagen and has been shown to boost skin rejuvenation (collagen III).
  • This bio ferment makes the skin less reactive and protects against skin degradation from digital pollution.
  • Has been shown to drastically help with eyelid lifting, softening crows feet, and improving nasolabial folds (smile lines)

The pH level of the fragrance-free serum is 5.0. The optimal level of pH for the skin is between 4.75 and 5.75.

The Peptide Serum comes in a pump bottle that contains 0.5 oz. It is sold on the (pH)ix website and is priced at $21. If you subscribe, you save a few dollars. The Peptide Serum is also sold on Amazon for a little less, too.

The (pH)ix Caffeine Eye Cream

When I first received The (pH)ix Caffeine Eye Cream, I intended to give it to a friend. But I decided to try it and I absolutely will not give it away. I was blown away at how much I like it!

First, it’s a lovely blue cream. I love all things blue, but this blue helps to magically make the blue/purple circles under my eyes look less blue. And it brightens the under eye area, too, and makes me look less tired. The lightweight blue cream melds into my skin in a flash to hydrate the delicate under eye skin.

The Caffeine Eye Cream has a faint cucumber scent from the Cucumber Extract in the formula that I find as rejuvenating and relaxing, as if I had just placed cucumber slices on my eyes.

In addition to Ginger Extract, it is also formulated with:

Caffeine

  • Reduces under-eye puffiness with diuretic properties that relieve water retention
  • Brightens area by constricts blood vessels & blood flow under the eyes
  • Antioxidant that protects against collagen breakdown & wrinkles

Turmeric + Eggplant

  • Brightens skin with blue hue & antioxidant properties that inhibiting the production of melanin
  • Slows the skin-aging process and improves elasticity
  • Calms inflammation & soothes puffiness

Hyaluronic Acid

  • Instantly diminish appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
  • Increases skin’s moisture retention capacity & restores skin barrier
  • Gives the skin a firmer, more ‘elastic’ looking glow

Caffeine Eye Cream has a pH of 5.3. I use it twice a day under my eyes. It works perfectly under makeup too.

It comes in a 2 oz.  jar that I think will last me a looooong time. The (pH)ix Caffeine Eye Cream is also sold on their website for $42 or as a duo of two jars on sale now for $75 (regular price $84). The Caffeine Eye Cream is also sold on Amazon.

I instantly put the eye cream in my Amazon chart. I was thinking the other day how all my many eye creams seem the same but this sounds unique. The serum will be next!

    1. Oh, it is a wonderful under eye cream, Marcia. But I just want to be sure you noticed that it does have a cucumber scent due to the cucumber extract. 😀
